  3. Has anyone on Vista 64-bit had any luck with driver version greater than 186.18 ? (The last time I tried updating, when ArmA2 1.04 was released, the drivers caused massive problems and I had to reinstall 186.18)
  4. I have a linux ded server and I would like to force all clients connecting to have the same version of a mod installed. Is verifySignatures sufficient for this? There is another problem. The linux update script does not erase old mod keys(I will fix this soon) leaving multiple keys albeit with different file names. Will clients with older mod versions matching the old keys still be able to connect and play (and maybe crash server) ?

    This is why I am confused. :butbut: To me those answers are contradictory. First you say verifySignatures is enough to ensure all clients have same version of mod as server and then you say not. On the server during signature verification, the server key is compared to the client bisign. Is this all that happens, or does the server also make sure the server and client have the same bisign?
  7. Another derailing by the stamina debate team. Can anyone actually answer any of my questions instead of debating? Where on the ACE WIki does it state stamina == rucks? Can't find it.

On the wiki page under server features I am confused between parameters check_pbos and check_all_ace_pbos. Having two variables for this seems redundant. Please explain. Finally, this is more of an MP config issue, but will the following line work to globally disable stamina effects if added to the server config? onUserConnected = "ACE_NoStaminaEffects = True; publicVariable ""ACE_NoStaminaEffects""" ; Firstly I am uncertain whether the publicVariable command would be successful in this context. Secondly, if this does work, is it executed before the init.sqf i.e. could the init.sqf override to reenable stamina effects?

  11. Um, did you enable SLI(and disable PhysX) in the NVidia control panel? Not talking down to you, but I have to ask. SLI indicators enabled? Do you see a profile for ArmA2 (demo)?

    The problem is with launchers that do not let you manually add mod folders, but detect them automatically by looking for an '@' folder prefix e.g. Linebackers Launcher.
  13. Had to revert to 186.18 drivers from 191.07. Was getting graphics corruption leading to ctd. Texture loading times still a little laggy. i7 920, 6GB ram SLIx2 gtx285 1GB ram Vista Ultimate 64

    Similar system. Same problems. Not sure if it was 1.04 patch, or me fiddling with settings. At some point a month or so ago I did have stable gameplay. edit: pretty sure it is 1.04

    Okay, so the USMC motorcycle seems to have a maximum on-road speed of about 35 km/h. The Yamaha dirt-bike is slightly faster. And yes, I am holding down the "turbo" button. These vehicles can barely climb a slight incline and are absolutely joyless to drive. Am I missing something obvious?

    Patch 1.04 suggestions

    1) Allowed detailed selection of post-processing effects 2) Move green action icons somewhere other than the centre of the screen, or provide option to turn off altogether 3) Allow separate bind for helicopter collective, or map it by default to be inverse direction of aircraft throttle 4) Increase motorcycle speeds/acceleration 5) Remove/reduce shine effect from glass optics textures(HoloTech and ACOG in particular). Can't see a thing through them at night with nvg. Annoyance does not increase immersion. Don't real optics have anti-reflective coatings? These were all minor annoyances in ArmA, and they continue to haunt me in ArmA2. Please make it stop.
