To be fair, the PBO's 'listed' are there because they are either being released or re-released & the PBO's required to work are listed in the readme files...
But I suppose most of the people that would take an interest in this pack would have known about the MG / Rifle packs already

I agree, it's a tad peculiar that this wasn't listed as a required PBO...

Commercial planes taking off are absolute sitting-ducks - if you've got a good bit of cover (ie. some scrubland) that's anywhere near the take-off path of a plane, and you know what you're doing, the plane is as good as toast.
The CIA has been trying to buy back the hundreds of Stingers it supplied to the Afghans to fight the Soviets, but has only managed to get a hundred or so.....minus those that were used, you've still got a couple of hundred floating around the place...

Very nice addon indeed, good to finally see some new Aust. troops...just a few little points:
- the Auscam looks a little too grey - probably to make the camo look faded or to make it blend in better with the OFP islands/upcoming ADF islands (a great idea - previous Aust. units were too green), but it does look too grey/not green enough...
- the tan boots are a little too bright for the camo, which looks a little strange, especially on OFP islands. It might be a better idea to fit the troops with black boots (which some soldiers still wear), and have the tan boots for any upcoming Aust. desert camo units...
- i'd rather see the units with the Okely goggles wearing them on the helmet, rather than over the eyes, which i've never seen outside of a desert environment. If i'm wrong, please point it out.
- the boonie hats seem to sit a little too high on the heads of the units. Not sure if anything can be done about this - it just looks a tad odd...
Anyhoo, an absolutely ripper addon - it's got a permanent place on my harddrive (at least til the next version comes along)

@ Antichrist - the black SAS CT units can be found under ADF Special Forces > TAG-E (right at the bottom)

Edit: After a bit more playing around with the addon, the camo actually looks pretty much spot on....I don't know why it looked grey, but it seemed like that last night...
The boots look terrific on desert islands, but they still look a little peculiar on the 'greener' islands....maybe if they were scuffed and dirtied up a bit....but black boots would still look pretty swanky

I know for certain that artillery, mortars and flares have been simulated through scripts by many people - you can find most of these (at least the better ones) at:
Operation Flashpoint Editing Center
As for comets, shooting stars and fireworks, i'm not sure if anyone has made (or if it's possible) to make these....

Looks real good - looking forward to it
Don't feel you have to rush it though - iron out the bugs etc. before release....there's nothing like a high-quality addon
I'd also like to see a couple of different versions, if you have the time - especially a civilian version. I can feel a druglord-assassination mission coming on

Hehe I remember that (not first hand, I'm not that old) - twas an F-104, that was sucked in by the vortex created by the odd angle of the outer wings - it was flung upside down and crashed into the Valkyrie's tail and wing...

I go through walls quite often though. Yes, in OFP, not real life. I think the wall clipping bug is a travesty of justice. It's very annoying to fall out of a building through a wall and into the middle of an enemy squad that was looking for you. Even worse is when you fall off the 4th floor, break your legs and have to crawl around screaming when you try to stand up.
Not to mention that it makes indoor battles pretty much impossible.
<span id='postcolor'>Yeah I know what you mean - even shooting from windows is pretty hard - your field of view is fairly limited...
Unfortunately, I don't think OFP was created with urban combat in mind - buildings (at least originally) were typically scarce, and the few towns around the place were probably just there as eye candy or something to hide behind. The ability to get in and walk around was probably something of a novelty rather than an important element.
I've got a feeling though that OFP2 may be designed in such a way that urban combat is a lot better

But then again, maybe we here in Aust. aren't concerned enough about terrorists to become a police state - our idea of Homeland Security seems to be a bunch of ads on TV with some guy in khaki trousers and a fridge magnet from the government with spaces for emergency numbers. You can keep all your fancy GPS guided bombs and microwave weapons, for I know what number to call to reach my local gas provider!

What do you think homeland defense sound like?<span id='postcolor'>
Look, what's the point of defending freedom by destroying it? Why would I want to live in a police state just because my fellow citzens are spineless ignorant cowards with the mentality of a swarm of lemmings? You see, if we allow someone like a terrorist to affect our fundamental pattern of behavior, then they win. Simple as that. If, by their actions, we become something we hate, then they've won, no matter how many of them we deport, interrogate, or kill. American 'Homeland Security' reminds me of a quote from a great man (President Eisenhower): </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom.<span id='postcolor'>
I'll pick freedom, thank you.<span id='postcolor'>
Very well said.
I'm sick of the typical (usually right-wing) emotive, reactionary mentality possessed by some of those in places of authority. By limiting our own freedoms, we are taking steps towards becoming the sort of society that the terrorists advocate - I know, there is still quite a big difference, but we must try and make sure our's doesn't progress towards some paranoid, security-focused police state.
People that advocate banning the Muslim women's burka (veil), as one moronic Christian politician here in Aust. did, because it just might be used to conceal automatic weapons/explosives fails to realise that this sort of legislation is completely at odds with our idea of freedom and liberty.
I'm sure most people would rather run the risk (still a very low one) of being killed in a terrorist attack to preserve fundamental freedoms. As Tex said, if the terrorists cause a significant change in our collective way of thinking (towards fear and suspicion) they have, in effect, won. Causing terror is the launching pad terrorists use for trying to achieve their primary goals.

I'd have to go with option A as well - as others have said before, it would provide mission makers with a great versatility. I'd also think that troops would wear the same headgear throughout a mission, and wouldn't be bothered to change if a firefight broke out...
It might be a bit annoying to have people taking your helmet off for you in MP, but certainly no more than other irritating things, like TKing teammates.
-
I think there's still something else I need - UCE's Indian troops, for example, still don't work...
I seem to remember UCE had a pack of retextured Russian weapons for use with these units - like Yugoslav/East German etc. AK74s...
-
I downloaded the 1.75 pack from Vosku's site, but I get a the "no entry '.model'" error - this means that I need another related PBO, like a weapons pack doesn't it? If so, where can I get it?
-
He went nuts quite a while ago, but Alzheimer's certainly won't help things

-
Would it be similar to the various RPG-7's that have been released, with the rocket being fired off the end?
-
Good god, those screenshots look good
- you guys are unbelievable. These units are just what we need, great work.Take your time guys - quality over quick release anyday
-
It's a nice little vehicle to drive around / make fast attacks etc.
As people have said before, the lack of texture on the frame needs to be addressed. I also think it would be a good idea if a gunner was added, so that the driver could be left to driving. I doubt that the driver would, IRL, operate the minigun as well as driving.
But a fun addon nonetheless

Someone did that here in Perth, Aust. as well, 10 or so years ago. A mentally unstable man escaped from a mental institution, which just happens to be adjacent to the largest army barracks in Perth. He managed to make off with an M113 and took it on a bit of a joy ride - took out a corner of a local police station and headed down towards the city centre, iirc.
Must have had some prior training with armoured vehicles you'd think, but its still a sad situation if a mental patient can steal an APC from an army base

The links started working, hooray!
Very good addon here indeed - the units, weapons, textures etc. appear extremely well done. The patrol units look great with their berets, as does the model/textures of the Para Minimi. I particularly like (as people have mentioned before) the Eryx missile launcher, and the animated moving cocking handle on the FAMAS - just adds that extra pinch of realism. Hopefully these little features will become standard for weapons addons...
Some constructive criticism: (most having been said before)...
- groups would be helpful, and having your own sub-category (ie. French troops) would make it easier to browse...
- the FAMAS sound is a tad weak, something beefier would be nice, but it's nothing too urgent
Other than that, excellent work here boys, keep it up
I look forward to some nice vehicles to complement these units
Oh, just one question - any plans to bring out French Paratroopers, Foreign Legion, GCP or Marines?
