A bit disturbing, but hardly surprising. The US has been eavesdropping on foreign diplomats for decades. The fact that the United Nations headquarters are located on American soil - which was lobbied for so hard by the US in the 40s - allows organisations such as the NSA to easily intercept Sigint from diplomats to their home countries, and vice versa.
Any other country, given the same advantages as the US, would do the same thing - i'm not condoning this sort of activity, but if a country has a chance to gain an advantage (unfair or not), we have to expect it to do so.

The M113s are absolutely ripper - models and textures are fantastic, especially the crane on the support M113. I love the animations as well, very nicely done
Hope we'll see some Fire Support M113s with 76mm guns, or a command vehicle in the near future.

If you're referring to the in-game weapons, the only really noticeable difference is a slight difference in the rate of fire. Other than that they're pretty much the same...some people think that the AK47 (with a 7.62mm round) should pack a heavier punch...
Yeah I agree with those above, it'd be great to see a high-res replacement pack for BIS weapons - I think earls' keen to do a Russian weapons pack at some point...<span id='postcolor'>
Nope, in OFP the only difference is the name. I'm not sure, but the dispersion may be different. Other than that, the AK47 and AK74 are identical.<span id='postcolor'>
I'm only going on what Avon has in her FAQ

Very nice addon - textures are fantastic, nice and smooth...the wooden foregrip and stock textures are superb. The model itself is very well done, with some small improvements over the BIS one.
One strange thing I noticed (perhaps not the fault of the addon itself) was the behaviour of the ejected cases when they hit the ground - they bounce up very quickly, and quite high.
It doesn't matter, it's just a little odd...
Fantastic addon - great for the Resistance

-
Ah-ha! All sorted now

I tried changing object / landscape textures to 256 x 256 (as suggested in the FAQ), and it worked. Seems like I had to reinstall first though....very odd...
Anyhoo, cheers for your help Avon

I think it's a sort of garden area - not quite sure how that would work, but it seems like a nice idea

I think it's the better of the final two - the other one was that crappy-looking latice-work building that looked like a bad plumbing system
It's definitely better than most of them, especially that design that looked like two # symbols intersecting... -
I perused the FAQ before, and tried the suggestions under 'Why is the sky green?' and 'Why is everything green?', but nothing has worked so far...
-
Geez, that was quick Avon! Very prompt service around here

Nope, Alt-Tab doesn't do anything

-
I'm not entirely sure if this exact problem has been reported before - ie. the 'green problem' - , but I searched through Troubleshooting and tried a few things suggested in some of the posts, but nothing has helped.
It's fairly hard to explain, but I took some screenshots to try and illustrate my problem:

Third-person view of a jeep on Everon

Third-person view of a jeep on Everon

It's strange because it just happened all of a sudden. I was playing the 'Vulcan' single mission, and was nearing the end when it just screwed up - first time this has happened.
I've fiddled around with the start-up preferences and the video options, and I've reinstalled OFP and Resistance (to v1.91 which I had before), but the problem is still there.
I'm running OFP on Windows 2000 (with SP3)
- Athlon 950MHz
- 320Mb SDRAM
- Geforce 4 MX440 with 41.09 Detanator drivers
Thanks for any help guys...I need my Flashy

This is not total scrap because of nice model (at least external view) and nice textures.
Anyway this is nothing more then "early alpha" IMHO<span id='postcolor'>
If you think this addon is not worth "beta" name, then just write what is wrong instead of writing only it is "not total" crap...
Constructive critic please... :]<span id='postcolor'>
I thinked then this is evident alpha. Just look at inside view - ad-hoc textures and very badly modeled cabine.
Compare quality of internal textures and modeling with Airwolf's Mi-2.
External view have better textures but armament is totally unrealistic.
First of all russians used only transport version - Mi-2T
The armament as it was made is nothing even similar to armed Mi-2URN.
Lights are in improper places.
This is alpha... This is nothing bad if this chopper is still developped but dont close your eyes - alpha, early alpha<span id='postcolor'>
Early alpha? Did you download the right thing mate?
Aside from our disagreement about the quality of the addon, as Johann said, constructive criticism is the name of the game if it doesn't appeal to you...

Magnificent addon! It could almost be left as is, very well done
The textures, especially inside (where a lot of addons fall down), look great.I was going to ask for a civilian version and perhaps a different sound (for the 3-bladed rotor), but it looks like you're well and truly on top of things in that department

An extremely well rounded addon, especially for a beta - my hat off to you sir

You have to be seriously paranoid to buy a briefcase or a purse that doubles as a bullet-proof vest. Like other people have said, noones going to wait for you to strap yourself in once the shit hits the fan

Hehe, I was going to actually, but I couldn't find his contact details anywhere (big surprise), and after reading his "Welcome" page, he just seems like a poor, illiterate kid with a false sense of wisdom. I'd imagine if he saw this thread he'd feel pretty bad about himself, so I guess we should just mock his crappy grammar in our own way. I think he knows he's not what he makes himself out to be. It's not like he's offending a lot of people anyway (86 at last count)

Edit: Now that I remember, he said he was in the National Guard for 6 years as "a combat military police", so I guess he's not a poor illiterate kid, but some illiterate adult who should know better. Assuming of course he's not a 13 year old lying out of his arse

Soldiers killing soldiers (guerilla are in the same category)
Massacre :
It begins by murdering civilian , intentionally or not
Soldiers choose to kill and die (resulting of obeying orders) by choosing to be a soldier , civilian never make such a choice, but are forced by soldiers to die , intentionally or not.
That is why i never call a war a massacre and a massacre a war.<span id='postcolor'>
Seeing as the word 'massacre' is really just a vague (and emotional) descriptive word, I think it's worthwhile differentiating between legal massacres (as in a one-sided battle during a war - Basra would be legally considered as a battle) and illegal massacres (war crimes etc. - mass murder of non-combatants).
It's a very good topic, though. It's just very hard to come to any morally and at the same time technically justifiable conclusion.

Assuming, of course, this isn't some failed attempt at satire, I have a few suggestions for our would-be games critic here:
1. Correct grammar and spelling does, in fact, help give the impression you are intelligent.
2. Calling the game 'too hard to learn', 'too realistic' and admitting you don't know what's going on makes you appear somewhat handicapped.
3. Some basic HTML skills (or at least choosing colours that don't make your eyes explode) gives the review a more professional look, and avoids that "13 year old h4x0r" image.
4. Get your facts straight - assuming an AK47 cannot hit you at 200 metres in Counter-Strike doesn't mean that it can't hit you in real life.
5. Admitting that your criteria for 'a good game' involves 'watching their heads fall off and explode' is not professional.
Every single sentence in this excremental "review" is flawed.
Anyhoo, it's nothing to get wound up about

If I do it, it`s justified and for a better cause, if someone else does the same he`s evil
<span id='postcolor'>Yeah, unfortunately Bush's policies seem to be painfully hypocritical, but then again you won't find any government on the face of the earth that hasn't been hypocritical to some extent or other.
You'll probably find that in any situation during a conflict that a country can take advantage of militarily (ie. achieving objectives more quickly), without it being against international law, they will take it. This applies not only to the US, but to every other country as well. Your beef should probably be with the rules of engagement as according to international law, not with what the US did to the retreating Iraqi forces - as they were legally adhering to the rules of war.
-
'War' and 'massace' aren't two points on a sliding scale of destructiveness - all wars invariably involve casualties, and most have unfortunately involved massacres. You also have to clarify what you mean by 'massacre' - a horribly bloody and violent, yet legitimate, battle can be a massacre. Wars are terrible and will inevitably result in deaths. What really matters is whether these deaths are seen as 'legitimate' in international law or illegal, as in the murder of civilians / POWs.
The point about the Basra Highway is that Iraq had not officially surrendered or yielded to UN demands, therefore any Iraqi combat units were still legally, though perhaps not morally, 'fair game'. Even though they were retreating (which one might argue is reason enough not to attack), coalition forces attacked in order to effecitvely eliminate the possibility of future Iraqi aggression (no army = no aggression) or to simply prove a point to the Iraqi leadership.
-
Absolutely sensational....:0
The units and weapons are excellent - the woodland camo is particularly good, a step above any previous camo...
Great work guys, keep it coming

Definitely whatever format has the best compression, and it looks like .RAR, so that gets my vote (dialup here as well). I would suggest that anyone who doesn't have WinRAR download it.

My thoughts exactly - the actual texture is spot on, it just seems like the contrast is a bit too low. As MF said, if it's too much trouble, they are fine the way they are

Also, I was just wondering whether it would be possible to re-model the boonie hat? The existing ones in-game are quiet rigid and straight, whereas the ones Aust. troops wear seem to be softer, or 'floppier' (for the lack of a better word

I can tell you one thing, i'm not surprised, basically cuz i'm feeling the urge to become one of them too.<span id='postcolor'>
I hope you differentiate the United States as a whole from current Bush administration policies - the "U.S." constitutes American political & economic systems, culture & society ... if you really do hate all of these things, then I suppose you're justified to say that you hate the U.S.
I would say that I am frustrated with Bush's foreign policy of late - even to the extent of saying I hate them every now and then - but I certainly wouldn't say I hate the United States. The US is such a diverse country, with many different points of view. I would even say that the media around the globe has unfortunately perpetuated a stereotypical view of Americans.
I can understand where your frustration is coming from, but try and remember that the government of a country, no matter how democratic and by its very definition of being democratic, does not represent the views of all (or even most) of its citizens.
