i mean, its nearly stereotypical. i can hardly remember a game, which has no episode in an exotic environment (like hongkong: max payne, deusex; africa: sof1; brazil or sth: sof2). so its kinda strange, that the sikh complained... i would have expected other minorities doing that much earlier; perhaps afroamericans or other stronger represented ethnic groups in western countries. i didnt know hitman2 had so large sales in india. ...or perhaps the germans (im german btw)... we didnt look too good in mohaa, rtcw and bf1942... strange that noone complained about that... j/k

very interresting discussion for i am not member of any military organization, i cannot rely on any battle experience. i think that the sheer physical capability of males is an advantage, when it comes to endurance and heavy weaponry; i do not know, what a saw weighs, but i can imagine, that its lots easier for a trained man to carry it (and all the rounds) then for an trained woman. what i do know, is that shooting itself is more bound to willpower and concentration... and there is no such obvious advantage for both sexes. another point would be, that women (at last the ladies i had the pleasure to work with) have in fact a special talent to decide fast and secure in critical situations. my point is: if there are women who are capable of doing a grunts job, then why not enlist them to the marines or else. military organizations are far more widespread than only infantry and nursery, so i can imagine a lot of jobs which can be totally fitting for female personnel.

i dont get your point here... do you mean, wars being fought via media or do you mean by civilian mob? interesting article, it would be very interesting to know how the islamic culture has developed in a country like this.

just got an idea the company "ssl" developed a lot of round-based (correct? dunno) strategic war games, where you can replay masses of historic battles, primarily ww2 ones. you move your units on hex-fields, graphics arent that great, but i remember us playing for hours. you can battle each other btw, similar to "stratego" or other "hardware2-games. i dont remember the name of this game tho, if i find it, im gonna post it :\ k think the name was "steel panthers", or "panzer general"; the company was ssi, not ssl. hth

hmm i dont know if there are any realistic games, which were developed at that time... only thing i could suggest is the old id-games, eg doom1&2, quake1 etc. may i ask how old your son is? because all the games which would a) run on that machine and b) come near sth somehow combat-oriented are rated mature... i do know some abandoned games sites, but i am not sure, if this isnt warez in some cases... on one site i found quake 1 on their ftp, and this game. for instance, isnt abandonware. i suggest a quick search for +abandoned +games +download, there is lots of them. i dont think that there is something with this ofp-like realistic approch anyway.

Any Ideas?<span id='postcolor'> i kinda remember that you need to swim .. somewhere there is an entrance, like a sewer entrance, which can only be reached by swimming. all you have to do is to reactivate some platform, which leads from the castle to the mountains. and afair one of the switches is down there. needed ages for that one too. just try everything, flip all switches, if you think you have done that, get back to the castle and try to operate thatplatform, it is somewhere in the upperlevels, try to locate it via its leading wire. gl

hehe, great topic i am heavily into rpgs, and especially the fallout series and its "follow-up" arcanum gave me lots of these. for arcanum, i even had to look up a walkthrough, just to notice, i had to reload a game from hours ago. i hate it, when there are story bugs or sth like the evil "disappearing car" thingie in fallout 2. and 2nd, for not wasting your data storage and opening a topic for that: hi, names alex, i am from germany and (obviously) new to the game and the forum, was quite a time a read-only, but this forum is great imho, especially when it comes to politics and offtopics. hth, and if i do sth wrong, please tell me about it, i`ve read the basic rules, and this forum is hopefully not as moderated as some ng are =)
