  1. According to this doc, you need to put the parameters after the executable, not inside the quotes. So: cmd.exe /c start "arma3server" /affinity 2 "E:\server\arma3server.exe" -profile=dude -etc..... @sebj: also according to the aforementioned doc, you can also put /realtime in the start parameters along with /affinity. EDIT: /affinity 2 only uses one core/thread btw. Not sure if that's intentional. EDIT 2: I just tested the above with a simple script and it does work. Example, if you want to run two different servers with real time priority, each mapped to two different cores: cmd.exe /c start "Arma3 Server 1" /realtime /affinity 3 "E:\server\arma3server.exe" -profile=dude1 "-mod=someMod;someMod2;someMod3" cmd.exe /c start "Arma3 Server 2" /realtime /affinity c "E:\server\arma3server.exe" "-profile=Dude2" -mod=someOtherMod Note that if you need/want to use quotes around parameters, you should put them around each individual parameter, not around all of them. :)

In b4 collective heart attack. #BIPODS Best way to announce anything ever.
  3. Except that those packages cannot be split up, so the ships can't be sold individually. It's all or nothing at the moment. :) As far as I know, the big multi-thousand dollar packages are supposed to be for large player corporations who want to pool their resources and get their hands on some otherwise unavailable ships from time-limited sales, like the Idris and the Reclaimer. Most of those rare ships require several players to operate, so there's really no point in a single person buying them anyway. These groups have to wait until the ships can actually be traded in the game universe though, so until then basically one guy has all these ships on his account. Yup, all four civilian Hornet variants are in since 1.0, and the F7A military version ("Hornet trainer") was switched back out again.
  4. Closing thread and removing links until this is cleared up. Situation was resolved amicably. Thread re-opened and first post restored. :)
  5. Arena Commander as it is right now is extremely cool (especially in a Super Hornet :D) but there's still too little to do for it to have any kind of longevity. I think it will get a lot better once they introduce the mechanic to earn "AC credits" next year (supposedly in AC 1.1) and let us rent out other ships, weapons etc. Hopefully that will be tied in with the planetside and fist person modules to create a kind of pre-PU experience, once those come out.
  6. Yes, the HC's difficulty settings would apply to all AI that are local to it.
  7. No worries. Threads have been merged.

  9. Purely from a legal standpoint, the license trumps everything - unless it comes with some kind of clause saying that it can be revoked for any (or no) reason, in which case the author could do that. CC licenses and the GPL explicitly say that they cannot be revoked, but I'm not sure about the Apache license. You would have to look it up. Anyway, if you have a piece of software released under an open source / free license then you are within your rights to do whatever that license permits, as long as it is still valid. As far as this forum is concerned, the moderating team does distinguish between legal and personal issues, whereby the former trumps the latter. If you post, say, a derivative addon that clearly breaches someone's license, then the thread will be locked, links will be removed and further action (including a ban) may be taken according to the forum rules. However, if you create a derivative of an addon/mission/script that came with a license clearly allowing you to do so, then you are legally in the clear and thus not in breach of the forum rules. If the addon maker wants you to remove your addon, it's up to you and him/her to work it out between yourselves. At that point it is indeed a social concern - you won't be punished "officially" for refusing to comply with the original author's wishes, but you might have to deal with a bunch of people who don't like you very much.

    Ukraine General

Nope, because he has now been banned from the thread forum for persistent derailing and flamebaiting. Back to the topic please - Ukraine.
  11. I'm going to make a judgement call and close this thread. Even if the TOS of the competition have been violated, the better option would be to contact the organizers directly about it.
  12. It would also be a shame if this thread were closed because it is repeatedly being derailed, despite warnings. Please move the AI discussion into the suggested thread.
  13. This kind of post isn't helpful or constructive at all. People have every right to complain; telling them not to or to "give up" is not a valid contribution to the discussion.

    New Chernarus Perspective?

Yup. It may as well have never happened and it would really make no difference.
  16. Arma3 is a Steam-only game. There is no way you could have installed it without Steam. Thread locked until proof of purchase is provided. EDIT: "I can play it" + "how do I add it to my Steam list?" don't go together as it is, but after an evasive PM exchange it's even more clear that we're not talking about a legitimate copy. Even retail copies are authenticated and installed via Steam, which obviously has not happened here. Case closed.

Doesn't sound like it from the description. Ah well, so much for that theory. :)

    New Chernarus Perspective?

I just recalled something a dev posted on these very forums a few months ago: Emphasis mine. I had almost forgotten about that little side note until I was reading this thread and the possible connection hit me like a brick: RTS game = new perspective. Whoever said "Arma Tactics with zombies" a few pages ago could be right. :)

That does not necessarily include expansions. The issue, essentially, is that they're not willing to prioritize or spend significant time/resources on new engine features that they can't show off in the vanilla game. Supporting ponds makes some amount of sense for the sake of backward compatibility (even though that doesn't seem to be much of a priority either at the moment), but implementing rivers without an appropriate map to show them off does not. The expansion is a perfect opportunity for adding new engine features though, so if they have decided to include rivers in the new map and invest the effort to make them work, there is nothing stopping them.

As far as I recall there has only been one "official ARG", which was roughly 3.5 years ago, leading up to the announcement of ARMA3 in May 2011. I dare say they went all out with that one because the announcement of A3 was a huge deal. Apart from that, I only remember one more fairly major ARG (the one with the web terminal) that was mostly organized by members of the community, not BI themselves.
  22. Normally this thread would be closed since mod-specific issues don't belong in the A3 troubleshooting sub-forum and Epoch has its own forums, but since you're not getting any help over there let's leave this open for a bit. Perhaps someone who knows about Epoch will be able to help out. (Unfortunately I'm not one of those people.)

I agree that the snow map theory is far fetched, but the fact that they're researching audio features is no secret.
