    o2 NOOB needs Help

    I actually opened up my o2 today and was trying to do one of the tutorials... the one about the M16. THe first thing it says to do is to put a texture in the background to make it easier to start creating the model. ah right, sounds simple enough... So I go into o2 and hit "A" like it says and I draw a box No problem there Next I right click on the box and select "load Texture" I browse to the .GIF that the tutorial says to use and hit OK AN Error pops up saying: Unable to convert texture, Pa2Pal error! What am I doing wrong? I searched the forums trying different solutions (most of wiched were aimed at texturing the model related) My files are in a folder called ofpedit in my ROOT C: I opened the gif in PS 7 and changed it to 256 x 256 even though by the tutorial that shouldnt have mattered because it was the gif that came WITH it. Im wondering if my o2 is configured wrong???

    WOO HOO! got it had to change the path on the DLL setting in options thx OK NEXT problem LOL I got the m16.paa to work that came with the tutorial but what about my own textures? I use Photoshop 7 and I got a jpg I want to convert. I tried changing it to gif and tga both then to paa with textview but neither end up showing in the o2 is there certain setting I got to save some where going from jpg to paa? Do I have to maint tain the 256x256 ratio etc etc? and if so how do I keep textures that arent even number ratios to not look warped?

I guess this is alittle off topic but I think addon makers should include this info in the readme as "standard" As in: Info on permissions for modification and the extent of those permissions For example if I was to release an Addon I would put a section in the readme headed as "permissions" then under this section I would either have A. No modifications of this addon without written consent. B. Texture Modifications allowed. C. Full Modification permissions. etc...etc... Just a thought on the matter.

    I think what Neoko is trying to say is that hes sorry for not getting permission before hand and that hes not trying to be rude its just his bad english. He pulled his addon "off the shelves" without hesitation. NO need to rub his nose in it. If anything THATS kinda rude. Just my opinion -Meat
  13. I am in the process of putting together a US addons pack for release. I was wondering what everyone what thought on this and what addons they would like to see in a "US Pack". So far this is what im thinking: Sigs US tank pack Combat Bradleys Combat M113 Hummer reworks by Flaber and his crew All BAS helos BAS delta/Ranger Hyk's troop pack DKM's ADATS CoC Arty BAS JAM2 Vits f16, and F15 an updated A10 (I seen acouple out there that look good)

    COMBAT! HEMMT Pack Public Beta

    THis addon ROCS! Ive been hoping fpor some Hemmts for so long. Would like to see a wrecker version with repair capabilities. About Use: In my opinion just because it doesnt carry troops doesnt mean its a pointless addon. Seeing these trucks in missions help add atmosphere for me. I dont know about everyone else. OHH! and also I dont know if any crew are planned but a mechanic driver would be awesome. I was a mechanic in the 3rd ACR and we always prefered wearing our coveralls instead of BDUs in the field. EXAMPLE: mechanic and in this one the guy on far left is in his coveralls: mechanic2

    I like both there work. In a case where theres more than one addon to fill a slot I would prolly go with the one that has less lag.

    Well the whole idea of it is to save people the trouble of downloading them individually and or searching for them I thought of either one doing it as packs or two doing it with a dedicated site. Say u go to join a server to play some MP...whats easier? taking a list off there site of the addons needed and going to download each of them or just downloading one pack or hitting one link? same for single player, it just makes the whole addon thing alittle easier. Granted alot of the hardcore OFP gamers are already up to there ears with most the addons ever made (like me) but that doesnt mean everyone else has all of them.
  19. Hi, I need volunteers to do me some small voice parts for my mission its nothing too long or drawn out. Just some small parts and one liners here and there. I need English voices but accents are ok. The mission is on Tonal and is based on Modern scenario using US troops. PARTS NEEDED: Platoon Leader - This will prolly be the longest part for the mission as you will have to do a mission briefing (not over 60 seconds) to the team at the beginning of the mission and some minor parts during the mission to add atmosphere. Soldier 1 - Minor part to give atmosphere to the mission. Soldier 2 - Minor part to give atmosphere to the mission. Soldier 3 - Minor part to give atmosphere to the mission. Radio call - Need someone to add voice to a radio message or two.     I think they should lock the thread now. The announcement has been made, we all said our thx and good byes. We should leave it at that. No reason to leave this up here so foolish people can keep showing just how foolish they are. Its bad enough that BAS is calling it quits but to have to put up with the ignorant comments as well just sucs :/

  22. Im trying to get a group to get off a chopper that has moved to a location using domove and flyinheight only. Example: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> chopper1 domove getpos object1 chopper1 flyinheight 10 ~2 chopper1 flyinheight 5 ~2 chopper1 flyinheight 2 ~5 ***need group to get out HERE!!!*** chopper1 domove getpos object2 chopper1 flyinheight 5 ~2 chopper1 flyinheight 10 ~2 chopper1 flyinheight 25 ~5 Ive tried using bits from scripts Ive seen and actions and unassignvehicle methods but I cant seem to get them to getout only the group leader gets out or the chopper actually tries to land to let them out. I want the chopper to remain in its hover and the group to eject out...Can anyone show me the right way to do this? thx in advance Meat
  23. Thanks guys, your alls input is very helpful. Alot of landing scripts Ive used in the past end up falling short because of...I guess memory problems as u add more troops into the mission and start hitting your computer limits. I always end up having choppers missing there marks and flying off to *kiss* trees of something. Thats why Im looking for new ways to do something thats already been done before. Most the scripts out there work great for small and medium size missions but when you get 6 to 8 choppers trying to put troops into a fight the timing starts getting all out of whack for some reason. *shrugs* I dont know..I hope that scripting the choppers landings all the way in will help prevent this but well see.
  24. well that script didnt work..I plugged it in just as posted. noone left the chopper. I used a trigger with r1 in thislist condition and [r1] exec "eject.sqs" looks like it should work though...dont know why it didnt.
