  1. On an up note, I do have to thank BIS and OFP for the loss of a girlfriend.  Not that its a bad thing.  It turned out she was a psycho-hose-beast with real mental issues.  If you want a further explination on how OFP caused me to see her "off-meds" then I should start a thread on "psycho girlfriend stories" ~!

If she had not gone completely mental I would have never gone on to meet the one I would marry.  Dose this mean I have to invite BIS to the wedding? inlove.gif

    Wish I was that lucky.

Seems like the people snacking xanors and xanax don't really understand the nature of a game like ofp and modding it. A girl I met last summer went on to mock my enthusiasm about the Vietnam war in her last few sms' as if I'm the one escaping reality... she met someone new and thought I could still be a friend.

I lost my interest in modding due to her eating me alive. Lost a great deal of hobbies actually. Only now with ArmA am I discovering creativity again, making missions again like never before. Ofcourse without this horrible affair I wouldn't be writing music again after years of silence.

Oh and the years before modding.. well dropped out of one school when OFP came out. Afterwards, I can thank my Vietnam escapism for getting into another. From which I took a break because of that girl. What a mess. biggrin_o.gif

  2. Your ags_inds config has error.Open it's config.cpp and search line you described. Then compare with other lines and you should find error(. instead of wink_o.gif.

But when I start OPF with any other MOD (or without) it func without any errors!!!!

Sounds to me that you have ags_inds pbo in the ofp/addons folder. Simply move it elsewhere, along with any non-bis addon from that folder. I'm a bit sceptical tho that something like this could happen but who knows.

  3. Hi!

    I'm back'ish.

You prolly didn't even notice I was gone... Sorry for the outdated stuff. Haven't shot anything significant lately, except a mild depression down. Ok perhaps a severe one. But the war isn't over yet. Atleast my doctor allows me to drink again. That's something eh? Oh, you don't care. Sry. Why you reading this then? (J/K!  biggrin_o.gif )

  4. Unfortunately even setpossing a logic on the player wont work, as the script(s) put the initial position of the logic into a variable which will be used for the rest of the script.

VTE_objects\scripts\VTE_watermist.sqs was an attempt at what you might want, but it grew too difficult and my brain said pop. Later on Sentinel adapted the script in some fashion into nimod, you might find something better from that mod for creating the fog in a classy way where the player might go.

If you want to do it yourself, you can run

    [logicname] exec "VTE_objects\scripts\VTE_watermist_single.sqs"

in a script which creates, moves and deletes logics in a loop, perhaps several at a time to create enough to cover possible routes the player might take.

That should be really easy for you, but PM me if I babbled like the lunatic I am  crazy_o.gif

  5. Para @ June 22 2006,15:09)]Fred, once of CSJ's RAAF Hueys would have been more appropriate for the screenie smile_o.gif

RAAF No 9 Squadron - Vietnam

Yeah I knew the CH-34 was not in the use of Australian forces, was it. But everyones seen a huey even before they were born tounge2.gif

Another inaccuracy is the location, that's why you mostly don't see me naming the locations. This is Binh Thanh Thon on Parrots Beak in it's current condition. I've put in a hard surface airfields where ever one was indicated to be, even if it's gona be only some 400m. I just love screeching halts.

  6. Para @ June 15 2006,11:46)]
It utilizes VTE ground textures and village objects, but the vegetation is completely Unsung.

ROFL! I tried something like that with Dák Sęáng & MeeKong and one or two people really took issue!

    [...]

EDIT: Should you not already have these two Nam islands grab them from: Hell's Circus OFP page.

Yup, you go there, click a link to get back here onto another thread and you'll find out that modifying the content of another mod and releasing it w/o permission can make people take issue. Oops, lookie there, still hosting the raped files are we. I know of another AU MP team doing the same with my beloved Parrots Beak while I'm in the process of bringing it to the final status. Where's my rofl. You au.. thumbs-up.gif

PGI's Ia Trang is another thing. He told us ages ago about this and he uses VTE as it's supposed to: as an external addon not modified and distributed, only required. Too bad the objects and isles pbo's are far easier moved to the Unsung addons folder than moving all God knows what Unsung files to the VTE addons folder so you could play it with our mod.

Personally I like this Ia Trang very much. It's fully worthy of an "upgrade" title, if one should be given. It has the same touch on the vegetation and gives a good impression of the highlands. My gripe is with the odd combination of some low-poly/crude looking forests and low-fps locations. Looking south from inside Plei Me camp for instance. But that's the same as in Ghostland, hope you know what's going on. Also I'm a bit worried about what you ment by leaving space for the rivers to come, is 1 grid square gonna do it. Last but not least, this is a 25.6km island, not 51km as the readme states  whistle.gif

Don't worry, we won't be stripping clothes at this point.

So I always put the islands anim folder in my normal ofp addons folder and it works fine.

... Yea.. on saturn? VTE hasn't had an anim folder since some version numbers (V0.2 does not have). Unless you are speaking generally, which does not apply here. And which kind of advice or chat doesn't belong anywhere near here. Did you get your VTE working yet Sim?  biggrin_o.gif

  8. Oh also...more of the islands could use a working airbase.

Yup you can say that again. But I'm more inclined towards saying ofp could use better AI in this department too. I know The Bra has prolly the most unconventional strip and Polish GI's islands don't have a single north-south runway but even with one it doesn't guarantee safe or any landings for AI. I've managed to make planes take off on pretty much any patch of stomped dirt though. It's just the reality that the islands portray backwaters and which would you prefer: a runway taking 1 10th of an islands longitude and thus occupying that much space from sweaty hot jungle action OR you making a compromise and createVehicle your air support (as has always been done, oh well  biggrin_o.gif )

  9. 1. Cant get the Coc Arty to interface.

    2. Any way to reduce the number of tracers.

    1. I'm not sure if you simply haven't placed a coc radio or are trying to use a VTE one in which case you need the script (scroll down a bit) to enable one.

    2. Well we wont be packing your bullets but the issue has been dealt with. One way is to wait for the next release wink_o.gif

  10. I have things like Col Klink's Nasty PTF boat and CSJ's ATC-H to bring in some extra to clean the riverside. Then there's CSJ's lambretta and trishaw to liven up the streets. They are still filled with peeps in black pajamas but hopefully not for too long wink_o.gif

You can plonk the folder full of anything, but even with the short list above you might run into some errors. Hope you can do without though if that's the case. I'm glad to see missions made and if they're on the new islands even better smile_o.gif

First batch of an unhealthy amount of photos taken during 1&Ë weeks around the country (well mostly our summer cabin - gone flat-screen and dvb still with only an age old gas generatormathingy).

Simba those photos are shocking(ly good) and atmospheric. I swear I was at the location of the 2nd photo in a dream but the first brings back memories of a place in my childhood where kids used to play and find empty shells and whatnot (and got beaten by the teenagers if they happened to find us in their uhm... spawnnest   tounge2.gif )

  12. Hey no pornography!  tounge2.gif

That's one of the few bug pics I've enjoyed (prolly as much as the subjects, can't get over it!wink_o.gif since it has 2 subjects in action but first and foremost the most interesting choice of focus.

I can't even tell what bugs if not plain fly's, the single wing makes it look like they have the same pair. It looks so very alien. Gotta love it, not the most usual bug photo  wink_o.gif

  13. Hm, how'd you take the second picture? The shuterspeed is (according to the windows file thingy) 0.62, which confuses me, how'd you get the trees etc to stay realtivly sharp?

My best guess is as good as yours. Believe me, I was standing there mouth open after each shot. There's no way I could've managed to keep the focal length at either end a longer time. But the shutter was pretty much as open as it could so combined with the shutter speed, and as it was really much darker than that it must have diminished the effect of zooming still keeping it exposed right.

I like your "borrowed" idea. Taken a few mm too and got an idea to experiment with, just not doable in the middle of the night biggrin_o.gif

  14. Yeah, ask afterwards, shoot first. And keep the photo anyway in case of negatory answer  biggrin_o.gif

Too bad we don't have those masses crossing streets here, 80k is nothing. Otherwise that's an interesting shot. I would've gone lying down, but only in my dreams heh. Then ppl would really be scared and look me crooked.

The guy in the 2nd pic is really intense, or atleast the right eye, that really does it  smile_o.gif

And to round up the trip, the triple trilogy, somehow all of the good ones turned out to be 2x vertical + 1 horizontal.

  15. With my skills shooting people (muy pun  biggrin_o.gif) I won't go cluttering any shots with them. Well I did actually do some today for school, but it was prearranged, whereas shooting at random ppl has been extremely difficult. They all seem to have a sixth sense about a lens pointing at them crazy_o.gif

  16. Damn, DBR_Onix, toss the flickr host down the gutter, it's making me wait too long tounge2.gif

Quite a bunch of pictures there. I really like some, but when you 'resort' to the lenscap... don't biggrin_o.gif.

Generally very abstract and varied. I'd only watch out for pushing it, I was very tempted to even click an external link here, and when a gazillion photos tickled my eyes I just shut it and came back later confused_o.gif

Relating to that, I was pretty backed up by either doing that myself (and being too critical about it and not shooting anything) or simply being too busy. How does a school day from 8am to 5pm sound? A reason for me to go at 10pm on a
