  2. Ok I see. I'll prolly come up with what is doing it, but even that empty veh's == civs took me a long time to remember. But it really doesn't bother me, just needs to be out of the final product. When the playground is the whole of Nogova, I bet it would be way too hard for the enemy to spot the target group if only the whole enemy groups patrolling would be tasked with it. With a few units in a town you'll get enemy on your tail way more efficiently. And a bit too often that arty too. Hmm I hope your making this for Resistance side too, a lot of mods even seem to use that side. Thinking mainly of FDF, being a Russian and chased by Finns would be fun
  3. @MI_Fred: I'm sorry to say that I've never seen this happen? Did it happen in one of the demo missions included or was it in your own missions only? Anyone else seeing this problem? It was my own mission with atleast 300kb worth of other scripts, but none issue orders to the playable groups. Only one issues that order anyway, but only to civilians. That one is exec'd to all civvies in their list, into which empty vehicles are counted, but surely not west units... would fit tho, as the move point always seems to be some 80m around the unit. But still if you know you don't issue orders to the target group... one of the reasons I use your grouplink is that Toadlifes did issue even more orders, in a really annoying frequency. About the enemy tendancy to call arty support, I have a lot of sentrys around the whole island. They belong to 1 group but are separated to 1-2 man teams. Don't know if they tend to call arty too often due to that. Also, I hope you don't move the area of bombardment along the target group. It would mean the spotter would be radioing 'check fire' commands constantly to his arty, when he's possibly already dead. I just felt that was the case after running some 150m away and still got hit. The shells should be created higher anyway, just that you'd have a small clue that your gona get hit when it whistles.

    The best punishment would be court-martial, demotion, criminal record... just a way to make them feel uncomfortable in civil life where they obviously were living quite large or just the opposite. Too bad the best that can do is get them just unemployed and keep them that way... They'll feel discomfort, regret, perhaps to the point they will take care of themselves. If not, prolly make a change for the better. Nah, they have gone too far. The stray dog issue derives from the lack of respect of own fallen, altho in most cases there just might not be time... except in modern warfare it seems, when own casualties are expected to be few, it's all tidy. Kosova wasn't, the enemy was formidable. Man caused this dog issue on himself, it's the smallest inconvenience and the solution seems to be idiotic. I mean... there's more animals in the world than humans. Aww nuts
  6. @MI_Fred: Could you please elaborate on the first part since I don't quite understand what you mean? Regarding the probability of arty strikes thats an easy fix and I will decrease it a bit more in the next version. It's hard to describe, since if I remember correctly there is not such command that issues audible commands with no effect, there is the silent ones that have effect. It issues only move commands, some 50-70m SW or SE of the leader. The funny thing is that it seems to do if for all player leaders, wether or not they are the target group. I have a 8 man and an 4 man group as playable. The 8 man one is the target group. I've separated an AT team just for the convenience of not being obliged to command that hard task among others... I'm not sure they are targeted even tho the script seems to issue that order to their leader too. Would be nice to know tho wth is going on The downside of using someone elses great scrolls.

    Oh but they have... see: I made it with Gebadeue2, a pack of separate building blocks. It's a bitch to do it right, I should know. You must first decide what terrain detail to use, then when you've selected that central position, you start to place buildings with a fairly simple formula, alt-tab until your left hand is stuck in a C like position, and you got something like that, which can be simply copypasted to another central position. Well that's more like a platoon quarters, but with bis stuff and this, you can do miracles. And the objects are very well designed, unlike some BIS objects with a central point which isn't in the center, which pisses me off. Also the AI can shoot through windows and geo lods seem to be very accurate. My only gripe with them is that they are a bit pale and stand out a bit when not camoflaged. Ofcourse that's the best way of offering them as it's easy to create bushes on them, but camoflaged variants might be nice. EDIT: I must be getting old...with the pic url heh
  10. The groups linked with the script will share any knowledge given to them by anyone via any means like 'detected by' triggers. So if some external enemy unit sees you but those groups don't and you reveal him either by sentry waypoints or such, it's time to seek shelter. There's also a lot of configging if using addon weapons for instance, but since you said no shots were fired, that can't be the case. EDIT: Oh and, yes, I'd like to kiss some ass too  and a new version which doesn't give the players squad commands in MP. The commands don't have any effect other than abusing my mental stabibility. Also the enemy tends to call in arty a bit too often, I get barraged atleast three times in 2 hours when a mission should last that long...

    Hmm I don't wish for a slap at M$' face, since then even innocent teens buying stuff at H&M will be effected, via an defunctioning counter application, that runs one of those Windows versions for them... I hope you know where it is used. But hopefully thanks to this it won't be used in those long range military missile systems, so a mass evacuation to the dark side of the moon isn't necessary.

    The only downfall I see is the one someone else sees somewhere where it clearly isn't happening, when it is infact only happening in their heads. Perhaps it's just me. I do not see an end to matters like this. There is a community now, when will it not be? When the size of it is 1? I wonder what will become of the downfall when Ofp2 comes out? It's still the same community, only now, growing again. Are you so embarrased of playing CTI that you must come up with silly comebacks when you clearly have been slain J/K. If CTI had a plot, I'd like it. But as it doesn't, I have to make it when I play. That is the criteria of my interest, something that makes you awe at the twists. Perhaps RT plot making is too much. Perhaps CTI is an attempt to just hijack OFP to the leach of C&C. It had a plot! So, a sad attempt. You have to be simplem... *not gona say that* to be amused of it. About 10 games did it for me, then it got ... yes ... repetitive. How do you stand that? How do you still stand that new versions come out only on Everon FGS?!!? If M.Melvin has a real life I suggest he sticks with it and stops fueling the community with this little he can give. Ok I've heard there's some whackin new stuff in it, perhaps even an FDF based one coming. If someone will succeed in that (AI actually moving to ambush tank columns with ATGM's and stuff), I will certainly have a look.

    Nothing like going through 7 pages of this thread filled with Uber-staged Uber-powahmachinery boosted graphics. Hee...yea. Kinda makes you think does anything at all happen in anyones MP games anymore, I mean combat photography is the name of the game anyway... Hot lz, I am the regular pilot so no panic... just get outta the chopper fast. Still ending in others pants is too fast for an exit (from what I heard, that was only one side to that, they saw themselves upside down). That's solid teamwork. Too bad the mission was buggy as hell this time. And all sorts of unfortunate events ruined todays session.

    Sorry, but i don't get that. What is the difference to a CTI-Game? Hmmm .... did u ever play a CTI-Game? here you have lots of small operations in one game. The enemy will only get the "enemy has conquered ..."-message if he had conquered this town befor ... kind of realistic i think. Normaly you'll know if the enemy conqueres your town. Â Afaik there are "Factorys" and "Barracks" where u can built and train units. Medicus, the difference is that in Coop you usually have dedicated soldiers for flight, ground and possibly even sea battle. In CTI any soldier can do any of the 3. A grunt in the sticks of an A-10, wee, usually a bad player wastes the teams 10000 or however many OFP-dollars it is, which is the next target of my whining. It is an easy way out of the dilemma of designing a reward system. While everything else is neatly scripted, the money system should go and be replaced with C&H style 'hold-time equals points', where when you gain points, the zone is safe for the side to use for own infrastructure. I'm talking about harnessing a town ofcourse, not the middle of nowhere where a base can now be built. That brings me to the 3rd target of whinage: As if towns are the property of a side who once was there but left? Only if there's infrastructure and civilians of the same side there. Which is now the case only barely. The soldier amount/island size ratio is quite accurate tho. Lastly why would anyone buy ofp in the first place if they know they'll only play coops once and CTF never? Waste of money in that case. Well now I have stepped on to the darkish side, designing an 'in-between' style mission where you have base respawn and must destroy enemy establishments. All random in every way. Features Mapfacts Gebadeue2 for bunkers, quite a lot of DKM units (around which the plot evolves), MAP units and all the freakin dialogs and scripting-candy my team has ever made, totalling one mb as a folder. It's basicly an adv.Coop, you can choose type of respawn, how many establisments to destroy (after which 3rd obj. is active, a climatic ending, something that CTI doesn't really have) and if the HQ is mobile (do ya wanna take out your satellite & support uplink & weapon stock to the field when you can loose them). Hmm, sounds too good to be true. But it's so close to being ready that I can't fail. End of OT shit. I just know I'll enjoy that way more than CTI. It has ways of making the teammate useful even when dying a lot.

Charlie meets precision fire, medical tent survives After Plei me is retaken, the occupying force is lured infront of the television cameras They couldn't care less... They know not to celebrate 4 minutes later they are at it again Further inland they go, wondering how the hell the cameras are again there to meet them Finally, some notable support arrives, the grunt takes a step back Unfortunately, shit happens. The grunt fights until he is told not to. Later he relieves himself of his misery. (This might be a 1.96-1.95 compatibility issue, the guy was still very alive) A damn marvellous session. Participants: Gollum1, Me, Mad_Reizka, Sn1per (AIA), Artak, Garcia (author of mission) and Hawkins (see 3rd pic above). Charlie met some people highly motivated in busting its balls. I leave it to you to find the final score Â

    Finland/norway/sweden island

    I'd really redo a lot of the Res natural objects. On a bright day everything is almost neon green, it ain't that pretty but hey, that's realism. Also the birches from CWC would need a facelift, to hi-res. If swedish nature is anything like in Farmen (yes I get some channels ) I'd go blind of the glimmer. Finnish nature isn't that dark tho, maybe there's more spruce and pine growth, who knows. I think you'll get further with this: Directory of Cities and Towns Just select any Finnish town name and let it google it.

    Yea I prefer quite hardcoded Coops with a story too, that's the other end. Nothing from in between. Except... One age old thing comes to mind, a predecessor of CTI, TheCaptains Homeland Security. Now that was from in between, with a selection of unit type and weaponry/vehicles accordingly (if I remember right). Shame that it never was as big a hit as CTI. Well it was just an advanced team death match really, but even that is better than CTI... kinda. If there was really complex civilian behaviour in it, with rowdy mobs and all, interacting with the local resistance, who knows maybe it would get interesting. Still the grunt piloting... fgettaboutit.
  19. Central Europe, tho isn't Nogova just like it? Ofcourse, it's gona be whole different ballgame, but still the idea remains. Farmland, suburbia, concrete blocks, grey... that would feel more like a war than Vietnam, which was a conflict. Or it's something I can't put my finger on.... wait, yes... you couldn't drive a km in 'Nam with tank! Â Now that takes away a lot.

    Man, if you can join either/all sides if more than 1, anytime, I don't think I wan't it after all. What if some punk decides it's cool to support each side for 2 minutes at a time?! Uh huh. He must be 10. And a c... shh Damn good point Heatseeker, tho I never saw it that way. I saw it as a coding accomplishment, as the money system was new and all, still is an impressive piece of work. The real system, bureaucracy, would be better then huh?

    This will definitely be in use all the time it can be, so what I was looking for. Especially the dark blue sky, with only a few clouds here and there. Could be even darker. But I hope you will do something about the horizon, it's seriously not eyecandy when flying and having a short VD. The clouds, well what can I say, superior to certain water painted ones Also the rain textures hinder the view too much, I've always though that these things would create an unfair advantage to someone else, but now it's friggin gona make me a blind goose. The opposite is ofcourse those who edit the nvg optics and such, I don't know if they gain anything else than a rejection from equalmod servers? I sure wouldn't let even one pass... And lastly, there's this expression of the moment after sunset, roughly translated "blue moment". I can't remember if it happens only at a certain time of year, but it casts a blue hue to all. Imagine the rain without the rain but with that blue transparency, that's the moment. But instead it's just the red sunshine faded to black in OFP. The red sunset just seems so dreamy, happening each time, always so friggin beautiful... Rarely that good weather to make it possible here ever I do get an error ingame. I have w2k, wasn't that supposed to work? The error says I'm missing 'plot_rust_cihlsloup.p3d (magic)', a white brick fence corner... I can however find it ingame, so perhaps it's no biggie.

    Half of that is already possible with simple waypoints believe it or not. Just use a Sentry WP for the doggeh and when it goes off (when enemy is spotted) exec a script with barking sounds with the Say command and doWatching.     I have only up to 1024, I doubt my Radeon 7200 would like to offer more  Yes, silly peewee card on me. I changed the properties in the cfg file and disabled auto dropdown as you said, but they are still swapping. I noticed that the exe sets them always to atleast 2, so I avoided that. Though now I've had it running for that hour or so in the background and they still wont freeze goddamnit I hope they won't, but time will show. Here's a few pics of comparison: Vehicles at 256 | Vehicles at 1024 No difference is there? But... spruce branches at 256 | spruce branches at 1024 A whopping difference! Next I'll host a game and see if the mean goblin called CTD will come lurking behind my door... EDIT:f***n lame PrtScr or my capturing proggy works half arsed! The vehicle pics are obviously the same, looking at the sky... hmpfh

    Good to know Mr Burns, I sort of knew that it would hurt my performance, but at the same time if possible, draw really good textures... it did so without changing too much for some 20 minutes, then after some resource hogging alt-tabbing it made the objects change drawing detail at bad moments... It changes them for an object when an object is in the corner of the FOV or at a certain distance. Now imagine what it does when it can't decide at which detail it should draw! It sucks. I have it at 4x usually. I don't see any changing even after an hour... I wonder if it works when my textures are so low as 256x256...

    Ty DM, I cranked up all she got! 1024 text's, 8x dropdown... and then she blew on my face later. Really, objects started to change drawing detail, next day still at 512x512 I got the 'code change required' message during a MP game. Far from the quality of MP details unfortunately. And I blurred the background of the planes, that's a good gimmick Here's a memorable moment: The first game for Gollum1 as a teammember of us. Welcome! (He's in the middle, standing). His motto, 'will die for a shot', was again proved very fitting. He was the one who insisted on a group photo. I took one and went to Paint. Decided to start my capture prog too. I though I had the time but wth, my AI medic was shouting 'Eneemaah!' when I came back... he got 'em, heh.
