    How old r u?

oohmgod, september 23rd 2054. That means I won't hit even 74. It seems like the death clock is giving rather educated guesses but still read the small print. It's based on US life expectancies. Would be nice to have a country to select. Some Himalayan obese smoker would prolly live longer than me Â

    How old r u?

Ok so you should've made the selections: 00.000000-10.999999 11.000000-15.999999 16.000000-19.999999 aso... That would prolly please our dear Keg Or would it. Hmm no. ok.

    How old r u?

Well, i'm 20,07 years old for example... 16-20? no. 21-25? no. The options should have "16-20", "20-25", etc. to cover all ages (except those exactly 20 years old for example but I doubt anyone votes at the exact second of their birthdate :P) <span id='ME'><center>MI_Fred toadlife toadlife smacks kegetys</center></span> You should come visit me someday. We could watch Star Trek and point out the technical flaws together. So this is how the OFPEC site comes up with a database displaying script? By making illogical selections? That way you can select either one, by rough logic. Need I remind you that ofpec has the opposite going on, something even I could fix (skips the 10th or 11th and 20th or 21st and so on). Â Oh and I'm 23.

    Swedish foreign minister attacked

Sry, ment to say Mijailo, but God knows what an awful task it is to remember a name like that. Been too busy to even continue browsing this forum regularly for the past month. Let alone catch on little details like that. Now I got a lil break before it steamrolls me again, but still my point holds; having a record is the same as being unemployed for years here in Finland, atleast near. The only thing is, this guy did say that a voice guided him? Perhaps his lawyer was that voice that told him that a voice did so. If not, then I'd go for a huge penalty. But since that can't be ever proven, drastical changes need to be done to determine appropriate punishment.

Just keep hitting the L button untill the crosshairs go .... works for me  Since it's a mod asking I doubt another answer doesn't hurt. This should be foolproof: trigger#1 Radio hotel repeatedly name: tr cond:this on act: tr exec "camera.sqs"; showCinemaBorder false; enableRadio false trigger#2 radio india cond: this on act: setAccTime 0.5 After using radio hotel press L, then use radio india. By using the camera on the trigger you don't have to have any object where you'll create the camera so it can start from anywhere. Tho it'll always start at 0 altitude. You can copy it, just remember to change the on act. field to match the new triggers name.

    Swedish foreign minister attacked

Sweden is totally becoming a free-country, yay It might just be that having a record is bad enough a punishment, you can't ever have your former life back, if you indeed had any. Since there are cases where someone might have had one, this mild punishment is appropriate. There's nothing like a lifetime trying to survive in poverty in a civilized country. And being a well known murderer. This Ibrahim fella won't survive even a quarter of the length of his sentence once free unless he hooks up with the old way of life. I remember hearing he lived quite large. So the short sentence might be only harmful to society. That's the rational me speaking. I've heard the saying 'old familiarity of the cops' too often though, so it's just silly how the criminals get caught time after time. And I'm sure this short penalty tradition wont change anytime soon, so any whinge can be thrown right into the gutter.

#7, tho the moon is absurd heh. #3 also shows something I've only seen from BIS, lot of creativity. Only if the colors wouldn't have been faded so much it would've got my vote.

#10, brings back memories of nights I had with it's predecessor, looking at her optics, fiddling her levers, pulling her trigger........ Respect to those who really have used these antiques.

    For nordic residents

I hope it's not the one where the parents of CS-kids make shocked faces infront of the camera. I've always considered the gaming industry as another branch of entertainment (excluding the makers of AA and others aiming at the same goals, they can only blame themselves), be it a soldier simulation or not. I do it for amusement and I do not comprehend that I'm acting violently, I just follow the objectives... Holy sh... But yea, before I came involved with ofp I played racing sims and did my best at going around in circles as good as I could. It's just another way for me to accomplish something I am doing. I don't think about it. And most of all my shitty (or ofp's) gfx don't display atrocity that elaborately. That will change most probably though. As would my attitude towards shooting these few pixels currently portraiting humans. Maybe that is a good thing as I don't intentionally fire off at people but what they represent, the enemy, which must be eliminated when told to. That is the basic principle of keeping yourself sane in the real situation. Hmm hope TV4 isn't snagged from us here in the Finnish west coast just yet (damn local cable monopoly piece of xiit).

If I would record my methods would it be artistic anymore? It isn't too far from the actual screen I got, but I added  lighting effects (directional & red spotlight from that white spot on the left), then faded that with a 'color dodge' transparency. Then added Gaussian weave from a plugin and faded it with a 'lighten' transparency. Or was it some other and the other way around... sigh. The 'Nam images use nearly the same method but with a 'darken' transparency to accomplish that particular look. I still have an age old PS so no fancy shit on me. Also my ingame gfx are quite terrible, I ran AA x4 & anisoptropic filtering 16x for a while, but then it started coughing up. Even now with 0 dropdown I do get it oddly.

Holy blejeezuz, monthly bandwidth almost doubled since I started posting pics here Don't wan't to put the space down as so many have done before me to those unfortunately smaller hosts ... ahem A patrolling BMP caught earlier was blocking the main body of an offensive. Artak and Mad_Reizka introduce Finnish rockets to it. In the midst of the slaughter... Another era, another enemy... Direction of advance still the same, even for the cunning pilot (me ) SF entertainment troops. Hot LZ's boil down to hairy situations, but you don't have to be in other soldiers hair...

    Should landmines be banned?

My Psychiatrist told me to drop this (and I see I should, as this is a touchy subject, with someone coming combusting himself here, other denying the massive hypocrisy of his country...). I would just like to see a world where the cowardly weapon wouldn't exist and you must look down the barrel of your gun to your neighboring nations citizen and justify to yourself he must die. Is it the fear of such a situation into which no one wants to enter no more? Is the cost acceptable? No.
  14. MI_Fred

    Should landmines be banned?

Isn't there such things as treatys signed that include sections on sharing this kind of information in the good of both sides among other things the lost side has to give in on. Reading those numbers up there which Balschoiw gave, you can't call the US mine usage minimal. Your thinking home soil now, that might include temporary minefields. But just try to imagine a full blown war out there... nah you can't, it's unthincable. You'd think the US would wan't to ban the mines just for an easier entry to the countries it overtakes. The reason why 3rd world countries do not mark their minefields simply is that they might not have technology like GPS available.

    Should landmines be banned?

Yes, go find a needle in a haystack. There's no telling where things end up via poor logistics, leading and enemy interveining. The last time they found ww2 era material here, (west Finland (yes on a local paper, findings are quite frequent)), was the 27th. It was just a grenade in a shack, but the area around it had turned into a playing ground for children over the years. Luckily most findings are blown up safely by the military. colossus made a good point about OFP2 and landmines. It would indeed be fun, as now we don't have build in ones. This is where I get hypocritical, as I've expected them. EDIT: kids are not blown up... findings are x)

    Should landmines be banned?

Fratricide, no shit  I wonder what an advancing force does with them anyway if not dropped from air. It's quite remarcable that a friend of mine who was trained  medic, and did good, is against a ban on landmines. He if anyone should see that his ass will sweat a lil because of them. Or then the sees his work come from them. Or then he's just cold-blooded, hardened by the unlikely invasion... I mean some just need to wake up, who ever said the world is more unstable now than it was pre-ww2, hasn't taken his medicin. There are better things to be paranoid about and defend your beliefs due to them than this which costs men their balls and whatnot.

    Russia tests new wonder weapon

Damn that's just a plain open invitation for another weapons race. Or atleast a suggestion for the US to spend their money in the biggest..wait 2nd biggest nothing in the history of mankind I hope this isn't the same one they failed to launch once from land and twice from a sub? If so, seems quite unreliable... If it's still largely on the drawing board, it'll be scrapped for sure...

    Should landmines be banned?

As the basic purpose of AP mines are to tie up manpower to handle the wounded, it is an atrocity, as not only the wounded are in torment, but also the ones tied up. According to tactics those tied up are easier prey... disgusting. It is a psychological weapon. Quick death is easier to come by. Although an effective barrage blasting bodyparts across fields is no scenary easily overcome. I think AP mines go with guerilla tactics, they can be manufactured from scrap just like in 'Nam. They are a relic. Altho if they'd be clearly visible/detectable then they'd be a deterrent forcing the enemy to change route, for whatever tactical reason. But still, a respectable defence is the best deterrent. I did vote for a ban, but that would mean a reduction in one area of defence. Disarmament here we come.

    Non-american war movies

I think I've seen this film on Canal+ . Very good film. I seem to remember they use bicycles and I especially remember a seen where a red cross convoy (and the fionce of one of the soldiers) drives into an ambush? Not too sure but I guess you mean Rukajärven Tie not Winter war... it was shown only a few months ago here, so I remember that  description to fit it. But yea, Rukajärven Tie is one of the few one can recommend. The reason for bikes simply being that they are a recon unit  EDIT: aah someone made before me, got stuck into reading that first post

    Bad equipment

Heheh *MI_Fred starts dressing Your right. But naive or not, I'm having a hard time imagining that happening... even worse when it eventually does. About bad equipment. The standard reservist issue camoflage suit has to be buttoned up... I'm sure the enemy will give us grandpas our time before they do us in, just for our Readiness brigade to zip up and stab them in the back  EDIT:AAh 3:28am wth. bed->

    Earth 2.0

Bah, smells like anxiety, another way for the desperate to control what can't be controlled. I'm positive they will gain nothing from this even if successful. It just seems too hi-tech while you only need current tech to conduct satisfactory surveillance when combined with a little sweat. They already control more than they let know, this is just a front Technically I guess it would be possible atleast when restricting the created area of ops to some 50-100km from the most up to date imagery at that moment. Still I dunno where this 'whole world' came from, seems like some silly persons wet dream. Too ambitious and flamboyant. We aren't even close to that.

    Bad equipment

Well in military missions it´s a necessaty to keep clothes on or do you want to start dressing when enemy knocks or better steps on your tent. "Oh sorry bad soldier , give me 5 minutes to dress up. Turn around , ok ?"  It´s boots off when you go to sleep, nothing else. Keep your gun warm ;) That's just the thing I always was wondering about while doing so, even in the mornings it took a good 5 mins to get out. Ofcourse, being the stupid soldier I was, as a team leader sneaked behind my foxhole once in the night, whose side I didn't know for some reason, I got the task of screaming the bloody alarm. Everyone seemed to get out fast and to their positions. And that was the end of my good days there... sigh. Ofcourse, we don't sleep in the immediate vicinity of the frontlines. There's little need to get out in more than 3-5 minutes. Only that there's very strict regulations in case of enemy recon. You are discouraged to even smoke when near a tent going/coming to/from an position, if you really must, with the glowing tip between your palm and body. But that doesn't quite cut it... seen how it really stands out with certain equipment. In a real combat situation you'd sleep somewhere else than in a tent. Only once in a while you'd get that luxury. That's why regular soldiers here are rarely trained to sleep under the sky in only a sleeping bag or under some hasty spruce branch/poncho shack. Then you'd really need to get those clothes off and let yourself be vulnerable. But for that you'd need atleast -10 degrees. Any less and you can keep your clothes on.

lol, yes they are. Do you remember the jumpsports "enfant terrible" Mätti Nykanen? When he quit jumping he became a pop singer and some sort of national sex symbol. To be exact: A stripper. And a singer. Ughh... Things didn't go well, ended up living in a barn. Which went up in flames. Girl left....... I could go on but I can't type whe.n laughli.,m..h.  Ok, that was rude. But He even sold his medals IIRC. Not very honorable to strip, not very good at singing (at all). On topic yes... I wouldn't say that, the winters are getting incredibly mild, I think -15c was the lowest so far this year. And that is nothing. Not sure but I think -20 was tops when I did my time and slept in the fine fine Sa-Int sleeping bag, felt like a c**k in a wet p**sy  Well, you had to get your clothes off, then it would work like supposed to, made you sweat. But I'm afraid we don't have as harsch a climate as Norway, atleast no more.
