I really like that Sa.58 with the grenade launcher. However, wouldnt a more realistic, if fictional, version for 1985 be a Sa.58 with a Pallad instead? It wouldnt be the first time Poland and Cz cooperated in the interest of world socialism.

Its a pretty cool set. The units aren't that good, but it includes several weapons not out anywhere else, like the chinese type 68 and k-50 smg. Of course, im most interested in the MAT-49 smg in the pack, to use in the 1960's era missions im making for Tonal. Hellfish, if you read this, maybe Brushfires would be interested in making some french paras for algeria type missions?

I never bothered to ask ORCS permission to release these because:   A. i read somewhere that they dont usually grant permission for such things, which is their decision and i can respect that. plus i dont like rejection  B. DenOrc said in his thread for the '85 units that he was going to be making more of his own... I dont want to step on anyones toes, and his will be way better than mine.  but i figure if Budulay gets permission to use the models, i would be happy to help. I know there are some things Id like to do to these units that i lack the skills for. @ adrenalin: i do indeed have some VDV in khaki uniforms somewhere, as well as winter units. I'll see about posting some pics maybe, but i dont want to hijack this thread.

these units are great! i especially like the GAZ-66, now i can finally replace the ancient one from schackal. any chance of getting one with soviet markings in a future update?

if you are making NVA soldiers, you might consider some Polish troops as well... other than the ammo pouches and insignia the biggest difference between the Polish and Czechoslovakian uniforms is the color of the boots. Plus most of the vehicles are the same, just change the symbol.

there are a few addons out there already that you might be able to use, if you ask the authors. RHS released a NVA t-55, Vit made an NVA MiG-29 and i think there may be a few others as well. You should ask CSLA to use their excellent rain drop camo textures, and maybe find a soldier model w/ jack boots, perhaps ORCS soviets, Psyyke's afgan soviets or the Vilas pack guys would work.

Jackal as a big fan of your work, Let me say.. There is no way anyone could infringe on my work. All I've really done is take other peoples things and stick them together, and make a few textures. I stand in awe of REAL addon makers like you who have the ability to make these things from scratch. without people such as you i wouldnt even be able to begin to make anything for OFP. As an aside, let me say that HYK's models and textures kick ass. I'm all about standardization and I welcome the fact that you will be using his stuff, especially now that Laser is as well...Its nice to have units that look like they are from the same universe. The entire OFP community owes HYK a huge debt of gratitude, not only for giving us such top notch addons, but also for being so free with his work. That kind of openess is what drives a communty like this to the heights it has reached.

Hey, those look great. If you are going to do them, you should add the Mk-19 version and maybe one with an M240. I would also like to see one in the standard Nato camo. Your textures look great, but you should remove the part that says "Helo Transporable Tactical Vehicle" and the guys name if its still on there. I doubt that that will be on the production version. Maybe add "Marines" or the eagle globe anchor.

hey Fisch, If your on an Amtrac kick, you could always round it out with the LVTP-5... I think ROC mod has a model that could benefit from your attention, the textures are hurting. If you need pics theres one sitting on the side of the road down the street from my house.

well the M-60e3 is from the SJB TOS seals pack, i wont be including it. As of right now ive made the following weapons: XM-177e2, XM-177e2/M203, M653, M653/M203, Uzi, Uzi SD. The M16A1 with the silencer is a work in progress, Ill have to ask Laser before i release it since I only asked for permission to use his CAR-15/733 model and I dont want to over step my bounds. Ive also made silenced/scoped XM-177e2 variants that probably wont be released because i dont think they existed in reality. The SEALs will probably be dependant on Lasers US weapons pack for their M-60s and M-60e3s as well as their handguns. I really like Jackals SEAL weapon pack, but for compatibilty purposes i dont think ill be using it, more people seem to be running Lasers weapons and i dont want the SEALs to be dependant on 20 other addons. The only catch there is that Jackals pack has the only decent early style M-249 made so far, so unless Laser decides to add one, no SAWs for these units. Maybe i'll see if Jackal will let me borrow it for my 80s weapons pack.

here is a pic of the Black BDU units. The textures are currently being overhauled, they are too light and i screwed up the placement of the Y-straps on the back. I will probably include a unit with a black boonie and one with just a ski mask. damn...looking at this pic makes me wish i had a chuck norris and lee marvin face..Delta Force anyone?

The SEAL model already has buttpacks as well as rucksacks. i am planning on keeping the rucksacks,I cant see operating behind enemy lines without it. however it is a named selection so if you dont like it you can just change the config. Its hidden on the Black BDU units and im skewing their loadouts for towards CQB-type ops. Jackal, thank you for your kind words. I am not sure what weapons pack i am going to use for these units yet.. I am still waiting to hear back from laser about using his models for the XMs/653s. I guess it depends on that. If I can get permission to use the models then i will release the XMs and such as a separate PBO of US 80's era weapons. I would eventually like to add non-SEAL weapons like an M-16A1 with 30 rd magazine and birdcage flash hider, M-3 greasegun(for armored crews), 1911a1, early style MP-5,M-67 recoiless rifle, and M-220 "Flash".
