    No I'm not a beta tester, but if you know of a paying job for this type of testing, let me know Whisper, I hope you don't mind that I have now included your bugs and our enlightenment on this list. Also thanks for 'enjoying' this list. I felt I better hurry and make it before they stop making patches(or new cds that patch) Please feel free to offer any suggestions and your own problems with the game here. I'll try to confirm them on my system.

    A10 and a Joystick

    I don't think the Flight Lesson will help. Maybe check your Deadzones on your stick. You may be getting some feedback from the other directionals. The throttle on the helos are correct. Like it says above. In a real chopper you would pull UP on the collective(or Back as in OFP) and a twist of the throttle controls. In OFP Collective and throttle/forward motion seem to be combine. Anyhow. I'm sure the throttle is correct for the planes. You push up on your throttle for more power. Maybe a stick profile would help to correct these problems since the Control Options in OFP are limited.

    Force Feedback support?

    OFP has Force Feedback. I do not know why you think it does not. I have a keyboard , mouse and joystick to play OFP. I use the FF stick mostly for arial vechicales. But it can be used for jeeps, trucks etc.. All my feedback seems to be present. One thing though, theres no in game adjustment, so if you want to do any FF tweaking you have to use a profile manager that came with your joystick.

    A10 and a Joystick

    I had the same problem with my MS Sidewinder 3D Pro analog/digitial stick Game port type(a crappy stick). I run it in CH Pro emulation mode to get it to work with varous games. Anyhow I thought this was fixed in 1.40 since I don't have that problem anymore, but perhaps its because I now have a real joystick.-Logitech FF type USB The only thing I can suggest is to recalibrate your stick. Make sure you do it correctly and precisly. And next time you enter the A10 make sure your throttle is down(off) completly. Note: The A10 shuts down if the ground is to bumpy.

    ***My examination into the game*** Â by Markofp v4 [ OF FORUM > ENGLISH > TROUBLESHOOTING > Bugs- by Markofp ] I have decided to keep a list of problems with OFP that I have experienced or I can confirm. Markofp Bug list: with a few borderline bug/features and similiar issues. -I'm using US Retail CD v1.20 -Patched in increments (v1.30) to 1.46 -Smart A.I. Enabled -SP Cadet Mode with Tag Enemy off -HW T&L , Object Shadows(sometimes), W-Buffer(sometimes) -My System: Self Maintained(I know which problems are what) -Controls: Keyboard / 3-button mouse wheel USB /Logitech WingMan FF USB Please feel free to comment on any of the issues below. Thanks goes out to: WhisperFFW06 +++BUG: Graphic Engine: +Soldier movement and Vehicles as obstacles - I still get soldiers getting hung up on a vehicle... mostly on 'corners'(See Minor Texture/Object problem below for a possible reason) +Minor Texture/Object problem - Moving in buildings, you basically can stick out part way of a wall and get shot. Also if there's a ledge outside a wall and you are partially sticking out. You can actually can get "pushed"(by clipping) off the ledge to the ground below. No damage from 2nd floor(10 feet) This may go hand in hand with things like crawling under a tank and you just barely fit, then the screen chitters as the player is aligned in and out of the model. Any contact with another object seems to produce the same results, just some are un-barable or effect gameplay. This also may go hand in hand with the problem with A.I. soldiers getting hung up on vehicles...they don't know you have to crawl, move this way then that way to break free like us humans do. +Glass windows and shooting - Cant seem to shoot OUT threw "Glass" filled windows but can be shot in at by A.I. Self: *test to see if I can be on the outside and shoot threw a "Glass" filled window and have the bullet pass threw and hit soldier* +Gun slots and similar areas to shoot from. - I can never seem to place my self in a "Fortress sand bag" gun slot. The floor is too high even when crawling. Same thing with walls that are obviously slotted or cut down to shoot out of.. There just too high or the floor is not low enough. This applies to windows etc. no matter which position your in. Kneeling, standing or crawling.(scaling is off?) +Smoke and whirl wind - Smoke from all sources do not respond to a choppers down wash. They do not dissipate or flow away. Nothing like seeing the site of a smoke grenade and a choppers down wash. +++BUG: Support Services: +Support vehicles parking near chopper - The support vehicles(trucks) park so close to my chopper, they tip me on my side. Note this is with engine on or off. I did not notice any damage to my chopper or there trucks. When done with resupply I give the chopper full collective and over and up I go. However if there was another object in the way, like a building or tree, it is possible to collide with it. Perhaps a self wright routine should be added when dealing with close obstacles that are not 'causing damage? +Support Vehicles and hover - Hover above any support unit and you can receive ammo,repair etc... Basicly if you enter the "bubble" around the rear compartment. +Medic Support Vehicles - I call them while I am in the air, 'cause I'm hit. My chopper is beat up but I stay in the air until Medics arrive. I land and get out. I can't stand up legs are hit. But that Medic Soldier won't come over to me. So I make the crawl over to them or there Medical Vehicle. +Medic in the field/ordered to support - Same deal, I'm looking for them to heal me, I have to crawl around./ Also if you order them to help a soldier the Medic gets shot 'cause he doesn't stay down or drag the wounded out of the way. +More on support Medic - They stay in formation but its obvious that trees are consider minor obstacles, even if there is two of them in a field. They don't steer around them - even when there is plenty of room to do so, and no conflict is occuring. +++BUG: A.I. Gunner: +Gunner Bug spotting - I'm a fan of choppers and since installing v1.40 patch my gunner can't spot soldiers until we are right over them and pass by them (this may be a result of my system speed and performance..Note: After further testing, I do not believe its the speed of my system, why? keep reading...) I can take a chopper down, circle a solider and even fly face to face with the soldier(30ft away).. yet my gunner does not see him(nor does my alter ego in the game). If I hover there long enough and maybe move forward a bit, my gunner will spot him. In most cases I must completely pass over the target before it is seen by the gunner. +Gunner Bug, "Got Him" - My gunner no longer indicates if he has killed or destroyed anything. He does not call it out. However If we land and I get out. The gunner will yell out Got him or ..destroyed only for the last two kills, no matter how much time has passed. +Stupid A.I. M113 gunners - why don't he wizen up and shoot Arial targets when its obvious he has a mounted machine gun in front of him and where getting our butts hit with cannon and missile fire. +++BUG: Inventory/controls: +M60 take bug - Not positive this is a bug, but I approached a ammo crate and I knew a M60 was in there. But it was not listed. I had to drop one weapon and then take another for the M60 to appear on the list(in the box)...then of course I could take the M60. There was no down arrow for more items. Self: *further testing needed to determine exact order of taking items...* +Command Menu and Unusable - I find that there are still allot of visual(white) commands listed indicating they can be used. However using them provides no effect at all. Game should check to see if these others are needed in a particular situation. OR possibly be reworded for the current situation. +The white radio commands(WhisperFFW06)- when no order is issued, it indicates that the order has already been passed and the unit is already in the ordered "state". For example, if you select all your units and ask for a "AWARE" behavior, and no order is issued, all your units are already in "aware" mode. If you order a unit to target a tank, but no order is issued, then this unit has already been ordered to target this tank, and is targeting it (Markofp) I find that some of the commands seem to 'stack' on top of each other and remaining until a command that would totally function opposite will take priority. +Terms used in the Command Menu need revision to correspond more to there actual usage. EX: Â Command: 'Find Cover' audio "Take Cover" other examples are more extreme. +M16 then LAW Â - I have to place the M16 in my hands before the LAW that I'm carring will appear on my list. There maybe similar problems elsewhere. +Joystick doesn't work completely with the foot soldier. Can't turn/move. +Joystick and A10 - since v1.46 there's no force feedback for the A10 off a run way. +++BUG: Other A.I. Flaws: +Mount Bug - If a soldier is in a vehicle and I ask him to mount a new vehicle and position.. He indicates Roger. However he will dismount his current vehicle and then circle behind the vehicle that I wanted him to mount originally. I then have to reissue the command to get him to mount.(most of the time you have to tell them to dismount first when its obvious that they need to in order to complete the new order) +Men using chutes - Can they be shot and wounded? and when I fly into them they don't die or the chute does not collapse. Also when they exit a chopper and they get wounded upon ejecting, there bodies start to smoke(black).(are these chutes using the BMP code?) +Soldiers Climbing/A.I. - The use of climbing overall in the game needs improvement. Also the A.I never seems to use ladders or stairs in or outside of buildings. +A.I. pilots - are very limited in what they can do. An a10 pilot won't take off. +++BUG: MISC.: +Sound Distance - I'm getting allot of far distant sounds as if they where closer. Â Mostly from moving vehicles like BMPs and TANKS. The chopper sound distance may also need adjustment, however not being able to tell which direction its coming from so easily(like it is now in the game) should remain to some degree. Self: *Need to test this with v1.46 I think most of the sound balancing is due to different hardware, game has been tweaked several times for sound* +Feature, it doesn't appear that A.I. can 'hear' sounds. They don't seem to react to me breathing heavy next to them after moving(crawling) fast. +Cessna takeoff speed is wrong(should be like around 60) also max speed for Cessna is WAY to high, it would break apart. +Choppers with wheels - They can not roll on the ground, or land and roll(results in crash since the wheels are consider fixed, they don't spin) +Choppers with landing gear - Choppers with landing gear that is retractable in real life is not in the game. +Water - overall water effects need improvement, need to make it so there 'really' is water attributes, ex: soldiers(special units for that matter) should beable to swim and dive, hold breath etc... --------------------?Borderline Bug and/or Feature?--------- +Feature I suppose, Chopper drop line - Where is it? where always jumping out with these ww2 parachutes. +Feature, Buildings and floors - are there any 3rd story sniping spots(not attics/ladders used)? Moving Gates and doors etc... +Feature, Soldier Jump - No form of jumping or climbing over low obstacles.(except for the allowing of foot high objects to be crossed, intentional?) Soldiers with backbag and all their stuff do not jump, and we currently can get over small obstacles. But when a soldier is loaded lightly he should bebale to jump or atleast roll over a fence... +Feature, Force Feedback - no in game FF settings. +Feature, Tactical display - Â would be nice to use even if your not the leader(SP only). Of course without the option to order. +Feature, A.I. and Horns - Get out of the way!...Horn doesn't phase anyone, no matter if where on a road ,checkpoint, land, or in tight areas to move in. +Feature, Apache weapons - There seems to be no stinger missiles. Also there should be a stinger shoulder launcher located in the tail section. A compartment holds this. Probably could be done the same as getting near the rear of some trucks and you can take supplies. +Feature, enhancing manual fire in some vehicles. Such as having the chaingun on chopper able to lock on soldiers at close range. Kinda like having a monitor in the cockpit and your able to select soldier targets. OR by view(head movement) +Feature, more in game control config, listed in sections: foot, jeep/car/truck, tank, etc. -------------Resolved Issues----------------------- +Calling Support - I seem to only beadle to call each team(ammo truck, repair, etc) once. They deploy once but if called again they won't repack up and move out again. This also applys if you goto them once without calling support. Resolved(WhisperFFW06): When a support unit has finished his job w/ you, you have to call for a "support done" (or somethg similar, it's the last order of the support menu) to release it. After that, you will be able to ask for support again. Tested, it works for me. +Feature, Getting run over - A bit more difficult to run someone down while there standing or crawling. They get pushed for a bit. Resolved: Further testing indicates this is not a bug, the soldiers do die upon collisions. +Resume after reloading OFP the next day - Sometimes I save a spot in a mission and then load that spot over and over again during an hour of playing OFP. I keep dyeing :o( Â The next time I shut down and reload the entire game and renter the mission..then click resume--the mission starts all over. BUT then if I die and it will Load the correct saved spot in the game upon load. Resolved: Examined this more and found out that it is not a bug, it was a confusion of a few factors: The mission loaded up the last retry position - I saved the mission spot at another point(thinking it would 'resume' from a saved location), basically I only can initially Resume a mission from the retry position, not from saved spot. I would have to hit esc and then load saved location. +Feature, shorten the games boot up screens, takes to long to enter the game. Is already a feature: add a -nosplash to your shortcut of OFP.(WhisperFFW06)
