  1. We had Task Force 777 in our original OFP mod (which included most of the Egyptian Army, naval forces, and airforce). Info on them was based on public source information. http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=10614 Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  2. Quicker, The Lost Brothers Mod will include Task Force 777 in it.
  3. Oooh thanks for the offer Sickboy. That sounds really good and might really help to get my mod better organized. I'll talk to Andrei about it. However I should also mention that I have no idea how it all works as I've never done a Wiki, so I imagine there will be a steep learning curve getting it all set up. But it seems to work really well for ACE. It would also be nice to have the LoBo mod SIX updateable. That is definitely much better then having to download entire mods just for one update. I'll message or email you to get more info on that after I've gone over the docs at dev-heaven first to get a better idea of how to set it all up there. @Foxhound, yeah we still have the Armaholics FTP area. It's small but I just cleared off some of the old stuff to use it temporarily for file sharing with Andrei. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  4. A bit of bad news sadly. Our mod lost our FTP site due to financial constraints so right now we only have two small FTP sites. If anyone has a large amount of FTP space laying around and would like to help out the Lost Brothers Mod it would be much appreciated. At any rate, that is why most of the pics are missing in our thread and website. When I get our pictures re-posted on another site I'll try and fix those links. Oh we also still desperately need addon makers and texture artists for our mod. If you wish to join please email me as my inbox is usually full (as I have many important messages I can't delete). Aside from this we are almost about to release the Gulf War pack update and are just waiting on a video to be finished for it. We also are still picking away at the Israeli and other Arab forces addons. Here are a couple of pics of our IDF Cobra gunship: Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

    JSDF MOD 1.0 released

I tested out these units this morning and really enjoyed this mod alot. The quality of the infantry is excellent and the aircraft are very nice. I REALLY hope that you guys port over some of the excellent fighter planes from your old OFP mod (as well as the tanks). My favorite was the Mistubishi fighter planes. At any rate a few notes for areas of improvement: On the 737 AWACs and tanker, I hear a C130 sound mixed with the jet sound. Please remove the C130 sound as that sounds very wierd. On the amphibious planes, I'd recommend perhaps using a modified version of the P3 Orion cockpit as a quick way to improve the interior. Also the biggest issue was that cargo sections were missing from all of the airplanes. If the amphibious aircraft for example had a nice cargo section for troops, it would be an excellent plane for dropping off commandos up on a beach. Also the P3 Orion should be armed at least with anti-ship missiles like the Harpoon. Torpedoes would be nice, but would require Mando missiles which sadly interferes with ACE. The P3 Orion can also carry a large range of other weapons. Likewise on the SH-60 I hope it gets some type of anti-ship missile and also I hope that the two crew members in the rear get a cargo proxy for those positions. With that said, overall these are very nice units and the aircraft have A LOT of excellent potential. Once a few tanks and APC's are brought in and the aircraft are updated, I think it will be a first rate mod. As it is, it is very unique and interesting and I hope you guys will continue to develop it. In the OFP days your team's mod was one of my favorite's so I am VERY happy to see it still alive in ArmA2. Keep up the excellent work! Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  6. I haven't posted many screenshots of our IDF stuff so I'd thought I'd pop one or two up here:

I could have sworn I saw a pic of some IDF soldiers carrying an M240 in either the last Lebanon invasion or the last Gaza invasion.

Someguywho- First off great reskins and great job overall. I just wanted to let you know that Eddie is correct. The Lost Brothers Mod DESPERATELY needs help with such reskins as the ones you did. Please let me know if you'd like to combine your work with LoBo. If not, it's cool. Anyways...good work!
  9. It is coming along slowly but we still have only myself and Andrei and are still trying to make one last update for the Gulf War pack first. That and we still have no offers by anyone else to help us with our mod which is why I was hoping brainbug might join us. We also had some nice portable Sagger missiles in OFP that could be setup even by the AI. So I am looking for a script specialist who could translate/convert the config and scripting for that system over to ArmA2. We even had the Ra'ad-T advanced version of the Sagger (with tandem warheads) as well as the Spike SR (man-carried) and Spike LR (stationary like a TOW) but again we just need help converting these things. We also need help for retexture work on existing ArmA2 BI made vehicles like the BTR-40 (mainly by someone who knows how to use a hex-editor for those BI addons that don't have hidden selections). That's just a few areas we need help with. A dedicated model maker and a map maker would be AWESOME! Inshallah we will get help.
  10. Yes, but if you install it on the same computer with ArmA2 it becomes an expansion pack. This is how most people play it (using both ArmA2 and OA together).
  11. It is a stand-alone game but also is an expansion pack to ArmA2. It's called Combined Operations when you use it as an expansion pack to ArmA2. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  12. You need the Operation Arrowhead expansion pack for it to work.
  13. To ahmed8620: The Walid APC is fairly close to the BTR-40 that is on the Takistani Militia side. If it has hidden selections on the model/config for its textures then it should be possible to make it look a bit more like the Walid APC. If I'm not mistaken the Commando uniform is the one that can be turned inside out into the more woodland type cammo no? You can see a bit of the other side of the uniform on this picture if you look at where the sleeves are rolled up: http://www.latimes.com/media/photo/2011-02/59398526.jpg ---------- Post added at 10:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:42 PM ---------- Yeah the EIFV is essentially a upgraded M113 with a Bradley turret on it. Other vehicles that the Egyptian military uses that are already in-game include the M1A1, Humvees (older variants not the uparmored ones), T-55 (although updated as the Ramses II with a 105mm cannon among other things), M113, UH-60 Blackhawk, and possibly the BTR-60 although I'm not 100% sure. Hamm could probably verify that. There are probably a few other vehicles I'm forgetting about as well.
  14. Nice job Brainbug. The only thing I see wrong with them is perhaps some of the weapons loadouts. As far as I know the AK-74 is not used by Egyptian Army. Generally speaking, units equipped with Western weapons (M16A2, FNMAG MG, M24 SWS, UMP) and equipment (PASGT helmets) tend to be their more elite units such as their 111th Indepdendent Mechanized Brigade (formerly the 130th Amphibious Brigade), certain paratrooper units, and some of the various other commando units (such as their Counter Terrorist Unit 777). It is very rare to have the Eastern and Western designed weapons mixed in units (aside from perhaps specialized weapons such as sniper rifles). This is due to logistical reasons. At any rate, what someone else said regarding the Egyptian helmets is correct also. They are using a design based off the older Russian designs aside from those units that use the PASGT helmets. Finally, BrainBug, my mod is going to be converting our Egyptian units (modern and historic) from Arma1 and we have access to models that would complete most of the Egyptian military and which would take you months to get all the permissions for. We REALLY need help with our mod as its been slow going for us with just me and Andrei doing all the work. Ryogu's M60 for example we already have permission to use. So by integrating our packs together and getting your help on reskins, it would greatly speed up the creation of our ArmA2 Egyptian pack which would be released as an independent pack (independent of our IDF release I mean). It also would avoid essentially duplicating your work as many of our modern units will probably also just be BI reskins (as much of the Takistani equipment is fairly close to most modern Egyptian units). We will however also use converted ArmA1 models with probably a modified PASGT vest (which is similar to the modern Egyptian body armor) and with the PASGT helmet. Our only problem would be perhaps reskinning it to simulate the side panels remove the front panels, and add the outlines of the ceramic plate section on the front and back. Anyways, just let me know if you are interested. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD> ---------- Post added at 10:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:34 PM ---------- To Hamm: Hey Hamm, nice to see you on here!
  15. Thank you so much for taking the time to examine all those configs. I think I see what you are talking about down at the end.... I didn't realize it had to be in a certain section. I think I fixed it and I'm testing that now. Thanks again and Happy New Year! Here in the U.S. even alot of us non-Asians celebrate the Chinese New Year. I will be helping out in my city's Asian Festival this weekend and will be having tons of fun. :) Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  16. Thanks for the offer and Happy New Year. :) Well configs I can compile and send but I can't send out any MLOD's without approval from some of the original addon makers. :( But really there are ALOT of other errors then just the ones in the .rpt. The log files are full of errors for many of the addons after binarizing them with BinPBO. Really what we need is a new mod team member who has more experience and who can full time help us clean up our addons. Only in OFP did we have a highly knowledgable addon maker (Calm Terror), but he got tired of OFP/ArmA and quit to play other games. So...what you see now is just an amateur attempt to get stuff working with some help from other mods and addon makers. It is by pure luck and just trying to copy other configs that I manage to get ANYTHING to work. The scripting and things like that are beyond my understanding except to make small modifications and to copy and paste stuff in (hopefully) the right places. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  17. The sad fact of the matter is that we have no clue what are causing those errors...I've checked the configs of all the vehicles and tried to make the configs as best I know how. Sooo.... unless we get some more addon makers other then just me and Andrei (or someone volunteers to look at the our vehicles and give us advice on how to fix those things) then those errors are going to probably stay as long as they do not cause any problems in-game. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  18. Yeah we had some issues with the version carrying bombs (only our cruise-missile carrying version was working) so that kinda fell to the side. Hopefully however we'll get it fully working if not for the Iraqi guys then for the Syrians. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  19. Vilas's weapons are fine. The problem started long before we used his weapons pack and has, I believe, something to do with one of the aircraft addons. We will try to narrow down the problem. It's just that our time is extremely limited due to real life family, school, and work obligations. But eventually these things will be fixed and yes if we identify the problem we'll probably just issue a hotfix if that is the only major bug found. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  20. Thank you all for the kind comments. Regarding the 1st Marine Div, WOW....I made a BIG mistake on that. I can't believe I never noticed that Marines didn't have their unit patches on their combat uniforms. I know it's on their dress uniforms and I had incorrectly assumed it was on their field uniforms just like the Army. Wow...that's just so wierd that I never noticed that. Ok...well... whenever we do an update, I will do my best to fix that error. However I should say, that minus any major critical bugs, it may be awhile before there is an update on this pack as I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get our mod focused back on the core of our mod which are IDF-Arab conflict addons. At any rate, hopefully what we have in this pack is enough for some great Gulf War Desert Storm missions to be made and I hope you guys enjoy the unique addons in this pack. Also the issue that Vilas brought up and is being worked out with Vilas privately and is best not discussed publicly on the forums. As our credits point out, Vilas and his mod team have been a VERY important partner with LoBo and without his help our mod would be dead as we are 75% dependent on his models for our infantrymen and many vehicles. So thank you again Vilas for your support and that of all the other guys on your team. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD> ---------- Post added at 06:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:54 PM ---------- Well, you are welcome to help us figure it out. We tried and eventually just moved on as it was a minor error. When we do our updates at some point in time, we may try to fix it but don't expect a fix anytime soon. If anyone else knows what might be causing that error, please feel free to chime in. Until then I hope that you will reconsider and I apologize for the inconvenience. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  21. I'm back in contact with them, but apparently the main problem is just an issue of getting in contact with other members in order to get permissions to send us what they have done so far so we can integrate their work into LoBo (with full credits to them) but those other members are not being responsive apparently. Sooo... not sure if those addons will ever see the light of day. But yeah it would be a waste if they were never released as the reskins were very good. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  22. Yeah I tried to see if those guys wanted to donate their reskins to help us get our IDF stuff finished and the only reply was that they would get back to me and they never did. So...ok...here's what's going on. The Gulf War section of our mod is like soooooo close to being finally done. But Tragedy has struck.... I got a new girlfriend. lol! So...what should have taken just a few days to wrap up is taking a bit longer. Once that is done, then I want to release a small IDF/Hezbollah pack just for people to have something to make missions with after we test the pack a little bit in multiplayer first. This will then be slowly expanded with updates and with the Egyptian, Hamas, and Syrian packs (and new IDF vehicles, units, and aircraft). Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  23. Thanks ya'all. Glad ya'all liked the video. Tristan, eventually ACE features will be added on some stuff if we figure out how to implement them. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

    ToraBora "Sandbox Edition"

I understand what you're saying. But from the point of a mission maker trying to make realistic battle missions simulating the fighting that took place around Tora Bora, the map is rather limited without good areas to put bases in. If you just leave some flat empty places (no massive runways, just enough room for a fire-base and a couple of helipads), that should be enough. Oh...also... I have yet to try the map yet, but from the pictures the mountains look a bit small. I'd recommend making them a bit bigger as the mountains in that area are quite large. Even better if you can work with some addon makers to create objects that function as caves custom fitted to parts of your map. However if the goal is just to have a big open wild space, I'm afraid many mission makers will pass on your map if it's not as realistic as possible to that actual area of Afghanistan. Anyways, aside from that it looks very nice and I congratulate you on all of the hard work you have done! Keep up the amazing work! Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
  25. QUOTE=maza94;1797894]Any news? Are you planning any BMP1s or any iraqi weapons (pistols, rifles, sniper rifles)? Reference pictures: http://www.adamsguns.com/tariq.htm http://www.dragunov.net/iraq_alkadesiah.html could be a camo version ;) http://www.dragunov.net/iraq_tabuk.html Oh...intresting pics...hmmm.... The Tariq pistol looks almost like an M9 Barretta. Hmm.... I "might" be able to modify existing models to make some of those. That would be cool. But I'll probably leave that to Andrei if he wants to do it. I really need to concentrate on getting the Israeli, Hezbollah, and Egyptian stuff. Oh...but....on a different note, I did make a new video today showing some of the units (mostly US side) in our Gulf War pack which I've decided to rename the "LEGENDS OF THE STORM" pack. Below is the video: Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
