1.05. Be happy you have it.

5000m? Remember that this game is far far far far advanced compare to any hardware available. So maybe you should try 2500m 5000m in 10 years, this game is far ahead of its time.

    official complaint to BIS

I was satisfied with OFP since 1.22. Thats what, second patch? Some people act as if this game is some sort of holy grail. Most people don't care much about it. So don't tell us how lucky/unlucky we are. And for those saying " Don't worry, BIS will fix it", quiet. How do you know BIS will fix it? Just because OFP was patched? OFP never had so many problems. The way I see it, it will take BIS a year to fix all the major issues. And thats no benefit to them. I'm pretty sure what the'll do is abandon this joke of a game, and come up with an expansion that will deal with most of the problems. You would at least expect ARMA to be as successful as OFP, but I doubt it will be one quarter of what OFP was.

Yes, artillery that is bugged, making it pointless till they fix it. Not to mention, you need to script it in misions to make it look good. Its not even in the campaign, so you can't use it without making a good mission. Planes and choppers also bugged when the AI use them. The flying system is screwed up for player vs player fighting in multiplayer. So planes and choppers are useless to many. If you think otherwise, why do 90% of the coop missions (which are 95% of all the MP missions in ARMA), don't even use them? People don't care about more units, and more addons which are uselss unless you use in missions. This game needs some heavy playability tweaks. More units and more guns won't keep it alive a second longer. And usually nobody bothers modding a dead game. BIS needs to fix all the major bugs before any serious mod team will invest their time and efforts.
  4. Maybe you need that bin file in the win32 directory. I don't really understand your problem, please explain more. When you download sprocket manager or whatever, what comes with the download?

Didn't BAS split up a long time ago? And how come your the only BAS member on this forum? BAS addons were one of the best for OFP. I don't think I'll be around ARMA much longer to enjoy quality addons, but oh well.... I will support an "OFP" mod for ARMA however.

No, I rather be told the game is not finished and needs to be delayed. Where's the lie in that? Your telling everybody here the game is what you expect a finished product to be? If you trully expect and desire all the major bugs, BIS shouldn't even make a patch at all for pople like you.

Ah, the blindness. Its funny how you see my post quickly, while you don't see the posts where people speculate the "publisher" is to blame for ARMA's state. My post was satire in content and was ment to point out the blindness among other posts. And Red Hammer is far better compared to ARMA's lackluster campaign. Sorry, but thats a fact right there.

    Next patch - when?

That would only make his words true. No EA game is this buggy, you must admit it. Who cares about the patch anyway. The question is when can they fix the important issues and get this game lifted from its fall of doom. I don't care about pacthes anymore, If gameplay is not fixed by the American release, I'm giving up on this game forever.

Lesson one in business is not to listen to your customers regarding dates. Companies that succeed don't care much about when their customers want their product to be released. If your telling me BIS didn't delayed because it feared the customers, lol wtf kind of sick joke is that. That would be the lamest reasons. When Valve delays, there are thousands of people complaining about delay. Yet when they release, those people buy it anway and are happy with it. Sometimes, delaying is a necessary thing. Its much more harder to fix the game through patches now.

No, Codemasters made OFP great When I was talking about investments, I was being sarcastic and making fun of the people that actually said that in other complain threads... .So that was an inside joke, I thought the quotations gave it away. OFP was great from the beginning because of its awesome campaign. We didn't need no mods to enjoy it. We didn't need internet to enjoy it either.

How can you even expect documentations? That is usually done with the game is FINISHED, and there are few bugs to fix or only minor bugs. It would be a shame for BIS to work on documentations while the game is still broke. Second to abandoning it alltogether. What your asking for should have been done (or not, depending on your views) before shipping the game, but now forget that, there are bigger problems.

We've Effectively Only Bought An Editor

OFP runs better on my old Geforce 4 MX400 than my Geforce 6800 GT. So yeah OFP does run better on older cards. Ask around, I'm not the only one with that conclusion.

We've Effectively Only Bought An Editor

That doesn't answer anything. The reason is because OFP isn't designed and optimized to take advantage of new hardware. Thats why it runs better on older PC's. And thats a given fact. You can even have a supercomputer and try to put 100,000 tanks on the map and have them shoot at eachother. It will probably break the games, since its not designed for that. Just because it works in theory doesn't mean it actually works in reality. What your saying sounds like a lame excuse of why we get so many performance problems.

    Terrible (none) customer support

Right, and Sprocket/Softwrap is BIS's (IDEA) answer to online distribution. Its like saying Valve is not resposnible for STEAM I used to get that error all the time while using gamespy. That was back, 5 years ago. Never figured out what happened. It was something I could ignore, but I see in your case you can't go around it. It's really difficult to determine the real problem. I also used to get similar errors with certain zip files. Which is wierd. It turns up I was getting errors on one of my memory module, so I changed it and fixed the problem. It looks like a memory error. You could try to do a memory scan with memtest89. It takes about 4-5 hours for the whole test, but you can at least rule memory problems out if you get no errors.

    Headshots disabled in 1.05?

Why does a game like ARMA even has a built in autoaimer? Did OFP have it? If yes, I never knew about it.

    official complaint to BIS

Apart from maybe boiling point, none of those games come even close to being as bugged as ARMA. Gothic 3, I pretty much completed that using 1.0. It had some bugs, but nothing major. Same with Soldner, it didn't have major performance bugs. Valve/ID released a full SDK with their games. That should make them what? gods of gaming support? When I said obligations, I didn't mean obligation to us. I meant obligations to the publisher. And dont compare 505 with Codies.

    official complaint to BIS

The concept of ARMA is the same concept as OFP. So nothing new here. Why do you guys act as if BIS is the only company in the world that supports its games? Yes MTW2 had only 1 patch, but the game had very few obvious bugs, and it was very playable. There are some minor bugs that were fixed with one patch. And maybe they have some other stuff that you can barely notice. And there are almost no performance bugs. Point is they don't need a gazilion patches. I don't see BIS supporting their games more than other companies. Other companies just as small that you can compare. Releasing frequent patches doesn't mean support. Getting results means support. Look at Tripwire for example. (The guy who made RO). They are pretty supportive, just as much as BIS, and even beyond in some aspects. In OFP, BIS did provide very good support and got really good results with patches. Sadly, thats not the case with ARMA (As of yet). Also, we can't expect BIS to give the same support as OFP received. OFP was backed by a pretty known publisher. BIS had obligations to fulfil, and things were different. I'm judging ARMA's support by what it has been given, not about previous BIS products. So far, the numerous ARMA patches didn't fix major issues. ARMA also has too many major issues, so I'm guessing that would be hard to fix, but still, it is us who pay for BIS's decissions. Its very hard to release an unfinished game and then try to patch it. Much more hard than even delaying for a year. Look at STALKER for example. If GSC followed, BIS's example, STALKER would have been a disaster. Reading reviews and previews, it looks like a decent success. Also, they had an open beta, something BIS should have done.

    Beta or Realese

You guys are funny, no idea what your talking about. Its even more funny since there are people on the board running ARMA on Vista with no such problem. The reason people run some games slower in Vista is obvious. Vista takes way more resources than XP. So if your PC can't handle it, of course other applications will run slow. None of your Einsteins could have figure that out. What I'm trying to say is that ARMA is compatible with Vista or it wouldn't have run at all. I have no idea why you guys are insisting that Vista causes performance drops when clearly it happens on XP computers too. So If you have a computer strong enough for Vista, it shouldn't be a problem

If trolling means not being a hardcore fanboy, you could call me that. Most of my posts are negative BUT they contain no flames, no disrepsect, and only valid facts/opinions. But around here, if your not a hardcore fan, your no good. If I post in a thread where some fanboy tells a member that the problem with his poor performance is Windows Vista, if I tell him he's wrong (which he is no doubt), I'm being called a troll.

    Sprocket/Softwrap - this is ridiculous

I believe you mean "buy". Thats not true, at least not with STEAM.
