  1. Hi guys, bringing the missions area of WOLF's website online. It will feature 40 of my own custom missions, and about 300 of Gameplanet's missions. Squad WOLF Website Featuring: 40 MP Missions spread throughout all official Islands: EVERON: 8 Multiplayer missions tested on Gameplanet server. MALDEN: 8 MP Missions tested on Gameplanet server. KOLGUJEV: 4 MP Missions tested on Gameplanet server. DESERT ISLAND: 3 MP Missions tested on Gameplanet server. NOGOVA: 17 MP Missions tested on Gameplanet server. Also another ~300 MP Missions currently on Gameplanet, will be available with download links, descriptions and if I get time, screenshots. I'm makin these available as I've recently noticed how few and far between mission sites are, and it is often hard to obtain new missions for dedicated servers. Regards,

    40 custom missions from gameplanet

You can now download all Gameplanet missions in one zip. And all WOLF missions in one zip. Go to the main [WOLF] Missions page where you select between Gameplanet and WOLF missions, and you'll see the download links there. If you don't, refresh.

You are the most annoying little shit I've ever had the displeasure to come accross but I must admit your missions are good.

Where in the **** is the linux server port?

Well well well, the kids are starting to get impatient. All the good BIS has done is forgotten in one group tantrum. Gameplanet will definately not be shutting down. A linux port will arrive when it is good and ready. Otherwise you bastards will be complaining that it is buggy. BIS has performed above and beyond the call of duty in every area of support. They have already trialed the open beta program where we provide feedback on beta releases. I think the painful experience taught them a lesson and this time they have done it all inhouse. Now it seems they are juggling military contracts with the responsibility to their customers (us). Unless any of you can say BIS has ever been slack what do you think they are doing right now? Either way they are working so sit tight and wipe your eyes, you'll get a Linux server. Don't forget they also have to work in Voice and all the fixes for the minor problems we experienced with 1.75. And on a personal note, stop bitching you are selfish children.

FINALLY DONE! I have finished the mission pages for all Islands. If you go to the [WOLF] Mission Selection and choose Gameplanet Missions you will be able to download all of Gameplanet's 313 Multiplayer missions. [screenshots to be done on the weekend] Obviously you will always find the latest missions on the Gameplanet server itself, we have new missions coming in every day.

I hear you lazy people!! We will rise and conquer the motivated!!!!! ... when we get around to it. I was thinking about that, I probably will, I'll ask GP if I can use that much space, should be ok. PROGRESS UPDATE: So far I have uploaded all of Gameplanet 300+ missions to the WOLF webspace, I have finished the pages for DESERT, EVERON, MALDEN, KOLGUJEV with only NOGOVA left to finish. Meaning you can download about 250+ of the 317 missions. I have finished most of the pages, except for screenshots which I'll do on the weekend. Regards,

    Large qualty mp missions

Thanks, much appreciated. I am slowly working my way through all 317 of Gameplanet's Multiplayer mission stockpile, so far Desert and Everon have been put up on the WOLF website. Thats 140+ missions between just those two Islands. Once I've finished Malden, Kolgujev and Nogova there'll be well over 300 missions with descriptions and screenshots in one place. With another 40+ already there that are custom designed by myself. So all up we are looking at a few hundred or so coops, dm and ctf/ch type missions.

Could you redo some english versions? Or if you send me the english versions of each briefing and I can do it. I think it is a shame good missions do not get played because players do not understand what to do.

    Modified config

Thats fair enough, Gameplanet has had maybe... 2 guys trying to cheat in the entire time its been online.. well over a year. So not really a big problem. But if the players complain about a certain person not dying or they notice very bad behaviour I will kick and possibly ban. But the subdivision message is related to sound, everyone who has that message has satchells sound pack. So I give them the benefit of the doubt, like any OFP player, until I see / hear otherwise.

    Addon packs for multiplay

Yes I see where you are coming from. What I am saying is - let me totally exclude Singleplayer for this as I find what people download for their own individual enjoyment irrelevant - having addons on Multiplayer servers will experience EXACTLY the same problems I had because when players connect from Ingame browser or whatever they use they will NOT go download the addons 90% of the time, they will just keep trying, or go to another server. When they connect they want a game now, not in 15mins-1hour when they finish downloading. I wish this venture every success. I am merely stating the pitfalls I encountered. So that possibly people can learn from them and overcome them. What people are suggesting here is on a larger scale, but in the end the games will be played on a server, and missions will be selected and if those people don't have addons they will not play that mission. Simple as that. As I said, what needs to be worked on is the delivery method for these addons, if they become mainstream as the official addons it would be foolish for people not to download them. And then this could work. As I have done extensive work in the area of addon packages and have experience running a popular dedicated server I am trying to contribute. Take it or leave it as you may. Regards,

Most missions I design are 32 player missions. You will find all the missions I've finished to date at WOLF's Website Simply look under WOLF's missions and you'll find everything I've made to date. Regards,

    Addon packs for multiplay

Ok guys, all that stuff you are talking about, I have already done. We grouped the best addons together in 3 packs. GAMEPLANET JUNGLE PACK GAMEPLANET WINTER PACK GAMEPLANET DESERT PACK We made them self-installing executables that have nice pretty pictures and all. We provided hosting for these three packs on www.opflash.co.nz with full instructions on what to do. We provided information in the MOTD to download these packs if you are unable to connect. I custom designed over 20 missions to take advantage of new addons / islands, specifically new missions for new Islands, meaning we could immediately revert back to non-addon mission simply by choosing an original Island. THE RESULT: As HellToupee posted earlier in this thread, he didn't download them because he was too lazy. This is a basic summary of what happened, people could not be bothered downloading them. Once they connected to Gameplanet, and we were about to choose a great new winter or desert mission, we would be asked by these "lazy" people. "Can we please play a normal mission? I haven't downloaded the addons yet" And so it would go. The addons were trialled on Gameplanet for about 2 months. It did not get better, the influx of new players slowed to a trickle as they stopped bothering to connect, they did NOT reconnect with the required addons. As far as I'm concerned until the "DELIVERY METHOD" of addons is changed you cannot achieve what you guys want to do here. You simply CANNOT change players that are lazy, you cannot make them download the addons, and most of them don't understand what an addon is. Gameplanet now runs Resistance completely addon-free, we have some missions that use Kegetys Editor Update, but those almost never get played as noone will download this addon. It is 64kb, and they still do not download it, so you will find it hard to get them to download 30mb+ Regards,

    Newbie question

Hi, Welcome The quickest way to get a game going is to jump into OFP Resistance, click Multiplayer from the menu, and make sure the Source is set to "Internet" then the ingame browser will display a list of available servers you can play on. These are dedicated servers, hosted by a main server, not a person. People come and go, so you will need to find a game ready to go with players in it, and one that isn't too high a ping for you. Once you are in the game people will help you out, you will find in general the OFP community are quite helpful.

    In game jingles

Totally agree, if anything, simply allow the option for the server to totally disable the use of custom sounds. Which I will definately enforce. Custom sounds are, and always will be banned on Gameplanet. You want to listen to Chris Rock one-liners while playing online go play Counter-Striker or something.
  18. While the Gameplanet OFP:R server is offline for its steroid injection (hardware upgrade / network upgrade) I have taken the time to release all the custom missions that have been featured there. Some are favourites on Gameplanet and some are only days old. You will find them at http://wolf.opflash.co.nz in the [WOLF] Missions section. Regards,

    Custon voice saying?

Right... So effectively your server only welcomes cable and dsl users. And you will ban all 56k users.. that's nice of you. The reason I say "all" 56k users is because noone is going to have a ping under 600ms while downloading all those stupid sounds you guys are using. So really, you are denying heaps of people the opportunity to enjoy a good game, simply so you can have custom sounds that don't really fit into OFP anyway. Well that's your choice, good luck with it. Happy banning. Not that I really need to say anything, we have way too many players as it is, but Gameplanet welcomes all players and is setup to give as many people an opportunity to play as possible. Regards,

    New problem with squad.xml

If it has that message it usually means your picture isn't the right size, the picture you have posted there is 58x64, you would need to make it 64x64 Go to www.opflash.co.nz/wolf/wolf.jpg Download my squad logo, chuck it in, see if it works, if it doesn't work, it's a problem with the squad.xml rather than the pic. If it does work, then you need to resize your squad logo.

    New problem with squad.xml

Because it has to be 64x64 or 128x128 can't be 64x128 or something uneven.

In saying sounds are welcome there you are literally saying it is ok to use them, it is ok for all the 56k players to have to download them while they connect, and it is ok that what once took 30-45 seconds to connect will now take them 2-3 minutes, maybe more. Good luck mate.
