Wonderful island and superb units!

Ah, I figured that it might be possible to add those to OFP. Great to hear that crCTI has actually done that. It would be nice if they added it to arma as standard.
-
If I understood it right MBT's dont have interiors. All the other vehicles do.

After game stats would be a really nice feature. The games, CTI's especially, could have RTS-like stats. So you'll see graphs of the development of the game. This could included the size of the forces, sectors held, losses of men etc. Individual ingame kill count is crap though.

I hope they make this server controlled too.. So that a league can decide to play without the crosshair and fixed aim. If you'll just be able to decide about the crosshair people can still paint a red dot in the middle of the screen and combine that with a fixed aim. I suppose small flaws like this might slip into the final game. Of course they should also add the option of optional fixed aim for the servers.

The same physics engine as VBS2 and Game2 will use.. but I guess that's too much to hope for so we'll have to stick with the modified Elite engine.

Nice work verbal and supah.. Here' something slighly different. I got bored so I did an attempt to create some pop-art. I also made a minimalistic vector graphic which I like..

In OFP the bullet went where you aimed your rifle just as it does in real life, of course with a bullet drop but that's what objects do in gravity. The small dispersion (fraction of a percent) was a way to compensate for the lack of wind affecting the bullet I suppose. OFP has a system which is quite different to other games. The bullet is an actual object which follows the direction of the barrel. So no matter if you'd run or lay prone the bullet will always follow the direction of the barrel. As the weapon moves alot while running it's impossible to aim well but if you would fire at the exact time as the weapon is pointing at an enemy you will hit him. So it's all about the actual direction of the weapon which means that you will hit what you aim at unless it's very far away so that the small dispersion makes a difference. Other games have bullets spawning with a randomized direction. The direction of the barrel as an object has no significance what so ever. If you sprint and aim precisely at an enemy you won't probably hit him due to the 'cone of fire'.

Or even better.. Press V and then adjust the distance with the mouse wheel.

FDF Rukajärvi (winter).. Lots of new objects and the ice was a simple but clever move.

Llauma replied to vipermanden's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
please stop that, i just gave my opinion. i don't like these heads, but i try the addons to give an opinion. if you cannot hear other opinions than yours, go to play with your legos at the kindergarten. it's crazy; it's impossible to have an adult discussion on this forum. back to topic. Not that I really care about what people thinks about the heads, infact I'm not 100% pleased with them myself, you and your team should make your own head models public instead if whining when people use my model. It's actually kind of ridiculous. Give them an option instead if it's such a thorn in your eyes. You are also allowed to modify the head as much as you want as long as you stick to the new texture format. So you're welcome to fix the flaws. -

Nemesis you seem to have a quite narrow view of the situations surrounding WW2. The Germans weren't pure evil. They were labelled as that because they lost war. Had Soviet lost the war they had probably been labelled as equally evil or perhaps even more evil than the Nazis. Infact even many jews would rather have their country occupied by the Germans than the Russians. Had USA lost the war the bombs over Japan would had been considered the greatest acts of evil the mankind has ever seen. That's how history works. The winner gets to tell the story. Don't blame the Estonians for considering the Germans to be liberators. You as a part of the allies were on the side of USSR which was responsible of millions of deaths and it kept going on for 50 years. Neither were the western allies pure of evil. You dropped two a-bombs over civilian targets not because you had to but because you could. The history as you know it is as biased as it can possible be.
-
The Estonians considers the Germans to be liberators.. So the Estonians are grateful towards the Danes who helped the Germans.
-
And with that post you made it better? If the mods wants to close the poll they will do so. There's no point in whining about the intelligence of the post. Perhaps you could try to contribute with something valuable instead as you seem to think it lacks it.

You can edit the config manually so that you'll get widescreen. Though it has a few minor flaws such as optics textures getting stretched.
-
I was probably hanging out with the dudes checking out the babes and looking for trouble.

I wouldn't put G2 and VBS2 together. G2 will be visually nicer than VBS2 which will focus on more important things. Though all these games appears to have the same gfx engine, at least at this point. The main thing with G2/VBS2 is the much more advanced physics engine, deformable terrain and for G2 a new RPG style AI system. My conclusion is that they are visually pretty much the same, at least right now.

Congratulations.. The units looks amazing.

First of all never assume that you're hidden in the forest. Behave as if you're on a open field. When you run into enemies get prone, scan the horizon and let them do the next move. 9 times of 10 the static guy is the winner.
-
Striker doesn't, stryker does You're right though.. Totally forgot about the stryker
-
Looks like a Striker. It looks like some kind of BTR.. A striker has tracks, not wheels.
-
The ACU camo ain't the best camo for all terrains.. it's merely the best compromise which should work on as many different terrains as possible. The northern Sahrani camo being much better is logical, actually anything else would be stupid. Their camo is designed for the Sahrani terrain.

At least it shows that the hands are animated and if they're animated then why not make use of it?

That model works nice as a 3D blueprint but it's way too detailed for a game. Merely the hinges on the back doors have 276 faces. A realistic number of faces for the hinges if you'd really had to model them would be 20 faces for all four of them.
