    Bin Ladin dead

Well, tell that to the newsource I found it at (www.aftonbladet.se). Point is, they claim he might be dead. How he died is really not that important.

    Nationalism

"Who's fault is it for the rise to power of the Nazi regieme and the start of WWII?? The Nazis who created and spread the the racist/socialist propaganda?? or the masses of people who BELIEVED it?? I fail to see the the majority of German people at that time as "victims"" I don't think the Nazis or the people was the decisive factor. I think it was the Versaille treaty. Without that being the way it was, the Nazis would never have gotten the peoples support like that.

    Australian Refugee problem

"I only got one problem,You know the people that come to our country don't have to pay taxes ,most of the time gets welfare checks, and other free stuff,So people like me that can't pay for something(college or something like that),they will get it free.Plus they get like 20,000 bucks to start their life out here in america." Other free stuff? Would you rather have they lived on the street and had to commit crimes to get money? I doubt most immigrants have it very easy when getting legal jobs when they first arrive... "I think america let's in like 11 million people in a year, and 5 million comes in illegally.I gotta tell those other countries that don't wanna take people in ,TOUGH." Statistics, US population... Current Population as of October 1, 1998: 271,000,000 Total number of immigrants into this country: 1,190,900 Legal immigrants: 915,900 Illegal immigrants: 275,000 Now, I know these figures are from 1998, but I very much doubt that the number of immigrants are ten times larger now than then. If they were, it would result in America having a, what, around 8% growth rate / year? Doutbtful.

    Australian Refugee problem

Noone has been bashing Australia here. Critizising is not the same as bashing. Its a shame if you think it is. Like you stated, those of us who are not there only know what media tells us. And like I said, I am not informed enough to comment the camps and rioting. And I am not commenting that for this very reason. However, thinking this is a unique problem to Australia is very naive and uniformed. Most of the western nations are having this problem. Sweden has had it for years. The refugees might arrive with boat or by container, that does not matter. The point is that they DO arrive.

    Australian Refugee problem

No, I am Swedish. The refugee problem is worldwide though. You get them on boats, we get them in containers and trailers.

    Yeltsin is an ass

Putin is a dangerous guy. He is smart, well trained, motivated and probably a tad more enlightened than, shall we say, Bush. He surrounds himself with ex KGB people in the government and in his social life. I wouldn't want to tangle with that fellar

Saudia Arabia Ask US To Reduce Force

"We have a force there which we think is what we need. They want us out. We say no. Why? Because we can. That part of the world desperatley needs western influence." This gives anyone a reason to occupy any territory if they can. And this means America was wrong in attacking Iraq. Iraq could attack Kuwait, so they did. They probably thought that part of the world desperatly needed Iraqi influence. Just like so many other American arguements, that does not hold up. The American recent war on terrorism resulted in increased hostilities in Israel and India. They use the same arguements and by that definition they can pretty much do whatever they want. If America is gonna throw their weight around they might aswell do it good and take over the entire fucking world. That way I wouldn't have to bitch about their double standard atleast...and I could sue starbucks for 4 million USD after I burn my hand on their coffee machine...

    Australian Refugee problem

"Also a note that a large number of theses people are from Afghanistan, as far as I can see there is now no reason why they should stay here there country, is now no longer living under the Jack Boot of the Taliban" And this would make their situation any better? It was worse even before the Taliban. While it is a tad more stabile right now, it is far from good. They have no infrastructure, health care is shot to pieces, there are no paying jobs, getting food for your family is not something taken for granted. I for one would not want to live in such a shit hole. The problem is not that we have refugees. The problem is WHY we have refugees. We have refugees because these people KNOW they will not succeed in their own country. Even some of the richest people there don't even have the same standard as a middle class citizen here in Sweden. If I lived in such a place, I would try to get to "the promised lands" aswell. If "the west" want to stop the stream of refugees those people have to be helped in their home country, not processed in ours. Its fucked up, but that is the way it is.

    Australian Refugee problem

"So if i paid a criminal a million dollars to kill my nextdoor nieghbour, would you just say, hey look at how much money he spent, he must have needed it really badly? " So you think commiting murder is equal to fleeing your land and trying to immigrate to a new one? This explains a lot...

Anyone notice in Bin-Laden's last "message"...

"Well if everyone knows it.. doesent that make it an accepted fact.. noone is diputing it (save a few dummies here).. .. its so OBVIOUS he was behind it proving it would not do anything more than make most people say "well.. DUH!"" No, it doesn't. For a long time everyone knew the earth was flat. Newsflash, it isn't. For a long time everyone knew God existed, lets just say that is still up for discussion. For a long time everyone knew OJ simpson killed his wife, he was found innocent. Knowing is not the same as proving. It is very different. "yes, because the very act of terrorism depends on lieing and sneaking you way into an area/country/building.. and then commiting your act.. so if a terrorist was honest he would never accomplish his mission." Wrong I'd say. Several so called terrorist attacks have been done in the open. And by that definition every covert organisations is untrustworthy. That is something I could go along with however. But I don't think terrorist are more untrustworthy to their opponents than regular armed forces or other combatants.

Anyone notice in Bin-Laden's last "message"...

"and as we all know, all grainy videos are fake.. even if they were taken in a war zone.." No, but when other videos from that warzone was of good quality, it seems a bit odd. "it was given to the arab news network (al jazeera(sp) like the rest... it had no"source" different from others.. unless you are just speculating." Media said it was found in a cave (the confession one). Since when is Al Jazeera based in Tora Bora? "as for the video being faked? why bother? why take the risk? why wouth the US go through the trouble of faking a video of Bin-Laden admitting guilt.. everyone already knows he did it.. noone from them UN or any other ally is contesting the fact that the was responsable.." Knowing is one thing. Proving is another. You might think you know he did it. But can you prove it? "ahh yes, as history has proven the arab nations..ESPECIALLY the taleban are very honest ttrusworthy people.. sheesh, its not like they are terrorists or antyhing" And history has proven America to always be trustworthy? Uhm, no. Governments lie. Organisations lie. Lies are common in conflict and politics. On a side not, is a terrorist untrusthworthy by default? More so than any other oppositionist? How so?

    Australian Refugee problem

Well, nazi or not the situation is handled in a bad way. I am not thinking about the solution with the camps, I am not informed enough to comment on it. It seems like a good idea, as long as they are treated fairly. What I AM talking about is stuff like the incident with that boatload of refugees that was refused to dock. The boat that was kept at sea while people on it were dieing. THAT is fucked up. Like someone said, the refugees are people to. I think there is a lot of closet racism going on all over the world because if they had been "white" the situation would have been resolved much faster. As for the refugees not being real refugees, that's a load of bull. Some, even most, might have been rich by their nations standard. Does that make them less of a refugee? You telling me that just because you have the means to escape a shitty situation you can't? I don't buy that. I hope you don't either.

Unmarried mothers would make sense, seeing as how the Taliban think. I doubt however they would do it to women just for being unmarried, since they wouldnt get to see many baby talibans that way.
  19. Longinius

Anyone notice in Bin-Laden's last "message"...

Yeah, I am sure they did that just because they were unmarried. It makes perfect sense and does not at all seem like a load of hogwash.

    Stop Social Service...

People are so quick at judging and condeming others, many times without even bothering to check up on it themselves. Not to long ago in Sweden, during a media hyped pedophelia scare, a father was out walking with his daughter in the woods. Someone saw them and phoned the police, stating that they had seen a suspicious looking man leading a young girl in to the woods. The cops came, searched the area, found the two and arrested the father in plain sight of onlookers. They hauled him off to the station where he was later found to be innocent ofcourse. The problem here? 1. the child was probably scared witless 2. the father was probably scared witless 3. rumors circulated for a long time, maybe even still do, about that father People just need to chill down and think about what they are doing. The person who made that call could have bothered to actually check what was up before crying "Wolf!". Same thing here. One black eye, of unknown cause, does not warrant the social services to come and take the kid. If the family had a prior history with the social service regarding these matters I could see why they did it. But NOT if the kid just had a black eye. I used to fuck myself up all the time as a kid, bruises, cuts, black eyes and what not. Should they have sent social services to my home? Heck no. Kids play, kids get hurt. I doubt however that this is how it went down. If they came and took the kid, there had probably been stuff going on prior to that.

    Stop Social Service...

First of, a black eye is not evidence enough to take the kid. A black eye and a history of abuse however is. Like stated, there are numerous ways a kid can get hurt. I agree that they should think about the kid before anything else, but don't you think a kid will feel bad if he is taken away from his loving parents when nothing has happened? If there is no proof, they shouldn't do shit. Innocent until proven guilty, remember? There is also the fact that if they DO take the kid every neighbor and their dog are gonna assume the parents ARE abusing the kid, even if they are not. That would put the family through hell and that's not fair.

    To you swedish guys!

"Why do women receive a lower salary compared to males in the same position. Why not allow women into the boards of companies and recruit a few more women as topp executives. Oh yea, were so good at it in Sweden and Norway eh?" I don't think that has so much to do with equality. Nowadays I think its mainly about men covering for other men and friends looking after friends. When I talk about equal rights for men and women I mean the right to vote, the right to free speach, the right to free movement, the right to dress the way you want, the right to see who you want. Far from all muslim women have these luxuries. In fact, a majority does not and probably never will. That is not something I want to see in Sweden since it goes against one of the most basic concepts in Swedish (and Scandinavian) culture.

    To you swedish guys!

"Islam is a religion. So is christianity. " The difference is that Islam, unlike Christianity, is also a highly political movement. Or rather, a non political movement. They refuse to have anything to do with the democractic system since the Imams decide whats wrong and whats right. This means that they set themselves aside from, for example, Swedish culture. "Islam is not a definition of a/one culture. Nor is christianity. The different muslim societies in the middle east, as well as in the far east is just as varied as the christian societies in the west." True, there are many kinds of muslims and many kinds of Islam. I am ofcourse talking about the mainstream Islam existing in Sweden at this time. "So you tell me what Norwegian culture is? Norway is probably the most "americanized" country in western Europe. So, the definition of norwegian or swedish culture could be very hard to asses. Being a member of the state church is certainly not a criteria in regard to citizenship." No, it is not. Wanting to take part in a democratic society however, is. Refusing to accept and support terrorism, is. Believing in equal rights for men and women, is. "I also happen to know a few muslims. They speak my language, accept our "culture" and our laws - and believe it or not - they are productive. They do however wish to live "their way of life" (Bush's favorite saying), and I cannot see why that is a contradiction with being norwegian." Then there is no problem. They have accepted what it is to be Norweigan and follow the laws of Norway. I am talking about those that chose no to do so and still live by the laws of their old nation / society / culture. "No, you are not!" How would you know? Do you tolerate people that join terrorist orginsations then? "You certainly are!" Well, there was a typo there, supposed to be "not" not "now". Ofcourse.
