    Us presidential election 2004

I will probably see it but if its anything like Bowling for Columbine I will take it with a big ol' grain of salt, then cross reference whatever "facts" he is trying to convey.

    Us presidential election 2004

I am sceptical towards Moores documentaries. When thinking about all the liberties he took with "Bowling for Columbine" I have a hard time watching his stuff without thinking I am being lied to, or atleast partially mislead.

    Rainbow Six the movie

Actually, since the book is based on the game it should be the other way around... "the only guys in the book from the game..." Nitpicking, I know. But right should be right

    Rainbow Six the movie

Of course it will. Have to cater to the broadest audience after all...

    Ghosts

A friend of mine claims to be able to sense "ghosts". He has several interesting stories but I have never experienced anything super natural myself, as far as I can recall. My friend also claims to be able to see peoples "guardians" at times. In his words a guardian can take the form of anything (animal, lost relative etc) and it follows certain people around. The funny thing is that if he is BSing, he is damn good at it because he has several times been able to point out guardians that he shouldnt really have known about, like peoples lost family members and such. Anyway, I dont know if its true, but I'll give it the benefit of doubt.

Help figuring out a war movie

I am trying to figure out the name of a rather old war movie. I remember one scene clearly. A bunch of US soldiers ( I think ) take position at some winter installation. They use conrete pipes and slabs to build barriers, from which they hold of an enemy unit. Some of the soldiers laying inside the pipes, firing out. Thats the only scene I remember with distinction. Anyone know which movie?

    Ancient Wars

Maybe this is to off topic for off topic, but its about war and history and its a discussion without modern politics, so it should be a nice break from the heavier subjects. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone here ever had thought about, or researched, ancient civilizations and the theories that surround them? As a basis for the discussion, if you dont really know much about it, I offer this article: http://www.crystalinks.com/ancientaircraft.html Its a quite wild theory for most people, but I find it interesting to talk about and discuss with people. Since many of the people here like to debate, are interested in history and warfare and have a generally open mind I'd just like to hear your thoughts around this topic.

    Icc

According to todays issue of "Metro" the US got immunity for their soldiers from ICC over a period of one year. So, I guess their blackmail worked. Well done!

    Ancient Wars

And I never said so either. I offered the article as a basis for discussion since it pretty much sums up the idea that there might have been very advanced civilizations before us, some even so advanced that they had discovered flight. I far from view everything in that article as true or even plausible. Thats a pretty mighty statement considering there are still people all over the world convinced Atlantis, in one form or another, existed. What makes you so sure it never did? Why would it be impossible? Why would our civilization have to be the first one that reached this point in technological advancement? Like stated previously, that page isnt to be taken as absolute truth or as the only point of information for this discussion. It is simply about the theory that there might have been very advanced civilizations before our present one. My point exactly. Its food for thought and discussion, of course not something to be seen as fact.

    Ancient Wars

Yes, well, I warned you it was pretty wild However, if you start poking around you will find very interesting food for thought even in those texts. Much of that which is mentioned is based on document facts. Like the findings of carvings and hireoglyphs, the stone buildings with melted walls, the pearls of glass, various unexplained artifacts etc.

    War against terror

Just the fact that it points to a long time, collective effort by muslims to infiltrate and destroy the western world. That constitutes a conspiracy. You know, when people conspire against others.

    The Iraq thread 3

Of course spec ops surrender. If thats their last resort. In this case, chosing between either starting a war with Iran or surrendering is a no brainer even for a grunt, so I assume also spec ops would know that the only option, if they couldnt escape and evade, would be surrender.

Question: When it comes to a nations territorial waters, do that nation have the right to detain foreign soldiers and ships that enter unannounced / unwanted? If so, what grants them this right (Treates, decrees etc)?

Sander, that one is actually a possibility. Now you got me confused, dang it! Ha-ha! Found a trailer for it, God bless IMDB! http://videodetective.com/home.as....ay=TRUE This is the one. Good call, Sander! Thanks everyone for the help.

    The Iraq thread 3

Or something like these: http://home.online.no/~hoevde/s90n.htm Provided one guy jumped in to the water and swam away... Crewed by three men / boat. Pretty cool pieces of machinery. Two Swedish conscripts were sadly killed a couple of days ago in an accident involving two of these boats. They collided, one of them crashing into the rear of the other, killing two of the crew-men standing on it.

Help figuring out a war movie

I am not 100% sure of this, long time ago, but if I remember correctly: The pipes are stacked next to a big building, together with concrete slabs. The slabs are moved to block the entrance into the building (a garage like entrance) and the pipes are positioned horisontolly to let the shooter in each pipe cover a very narrow field of fire. Advantage of course being that they are very hard to hit at their end of the pipe, and also hard to spot in the blizzard with snow uniforms on. Its a pretty cool scene as far as I can remember.
