    "Massacre" at UN Camp

There has been UN troops in the country since June I believe, currently some 2500 or so mostly from developing countries, many African. Russia and China has sent some troops to. Two months isnt really a lot of time to be able to secure all refugee camps and carry out all other objectives they are tasked with. More troops could have prevented this early on, but obviously, Burundi wasnt deemed that important by the member states.

    Jail break in Sweden

Watch out Swedes (and fellow Scandinavians) four of the most dangerous criminals in this neck of the world are on the run. http://www.expressen.se/index.jsp?a=164204 Broke out eleven minutes past midnight by using a gun smuggled through security at Swedens safest jail, Hall. Took guards as hostages and forced them to open the gates and then fled in a car. Four prisoners broke out. One of them an infamous cop killer on a life time sentence, the second the leader of Swedens most notorious criminal gang (if bikers arent included) who has promised to "suicide by cop", the third a leader for another dedicated bunch of lawbreakers and the fourth a more "small time" fish sentenced to three years for robbery. Two things strike me as pathetic: 1. They could smuggle a gun into the "safest" jail in Sweden. 2. Breaking out of a jail in Sweden isnt a crime in itself. This country.... sad.

    Ubisoft to Buy Codemasters...........

Chill out. There are plenty of examples of Ubi games that have been multiformat, but specifically designed for each format. Far Cry for example, will be very different on console as compared to PC. Rainbow Six 3, totally different on console as compared to PC. Current Ghost Recons, very different on console as compared to PC. There is no indication that the same wouldnt be true for OFP2, IF Ubi acquires it.

    Ubisoft to Buy Codemasters...........

Which company doesnt? Besides, they still put out niche titles like I said. XIII being a perfect example. Silent Hunter III, IL2 and Lock On being others. 1. The entire industry is focusing on consoles, thats where the money is. Its not a Ubi thing. 2. The entire industry puts out broken PC products, some more broken then others. Support is handled on a country by country basis, and there for it varies from territory to territory. Like I said before, Ubisoft has developed some problem products. But most of them have been of high quality. At any rate, if BIS is bought, it will be them developing it. Their call, their product. Yes, a Ubi producer, but same old team. Unless they up and quite of course.

    Ubisoft to Buy Codemasters...........

I think you guys are being a bit unfair here. Ubisoft has released many quality products that did work, were innovative and top notch (Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Beyond Good and Evil, Ghost Recon, Rayman, Far Cry, IL2 Sturmovik). Yes, there have been bad ones, like Ravenshield, but noone is perfect. Further more, products like XIII, Beyond Good and Evil and even sims like Lock On and IL2 shows that Ubisoft isnt scared to put niche products on the market. If they can pump out good flight sims, be danged sure they can pump out a game like OFP2 too, thats bound to sell better regardless.

    Us presidential election 2004

There is one big difference between Kerry and Bush that day. Bush was the president, he had a duty to act and respond, to get the ball rolling. His nation was on the line. Kerry wasnt president, and most likely DIDNT have a duty to react until he got word from his boss, his president, to do so. Bush should have known what to do, and acted. Kerry not knowing what to do is not a big deal, I dont think many in his position would know.

    Jail break in Sweden

Doesnt quite work that way. They will be caught eventually, the police knows everything about them. There is literally no place to hide for any grater length of time. Thats why its all about getting out, doing a deed and then partying as much as you can until the cops come collect you. And yes, most criminals are nicer than their US counterparts. With that said, some are still pretty evil buggers.

    Jail break in Sweden

Yeah, they are pretty fast to get the pictures, names and sentences out in media (http://www.expressen.se/). One is considered dangerous, the other two potentially dangerous. They were busted out by two friends armed with AK's. They drove a car through the main gate, then used power tools to cut through a fence. The three convicts were at the time idling in the prison kiosk area. Since the two guys breaking them out were armed with automatic weapons the guards retreated and called police. All five then got into a second vehicle and drove off.

    Web addiction excuses conscripts

There used to be this pizzeria where I lived before that took email orders for home delivered pizza. Does that count? Also, my mother has some foreign site she visits to order special canned and pickled goods and such. She gets it delivered in a package. She could have it delivered right to the door if she wanted to, but that costs extra shipping.

    War against terror

By "over here" I assume you mean Israel? The difference there would be that most of your alerts are often spot on and there it isnt just threats, its a real danger (as we have often seen). So far the warnings in the US have been "Wolf!" cries which hasnt really done anything more than scare the population. The UK has managed to achieve the same result (preventing terror attacks) but without scaring the population.

    War against terror

Thats exactly what I was getting at. If the UK manages to stop and arrest terrorists without issueing tons of warnings, it seems like a much better way to deal with it. Unless of course you have other reasons to issue the warnings.

    War against terror

I have a question to those of you living in the UK. Now, it seems to me more suspected terrorists have been arrested in UK lately than in the US. Yet, the US government, and media coverage of this, is clearly outgunning the UK one with alerts, level of awareness, suspected threats etc. Or am I wrong, maybe you guys have a lot of these alerts to but it isnt covered well outside of the UK?

No, but who knows. You might actually get the support and sympathy of the rest of the world. Like you had in Afghanistan, but didnt in Iraq...

    Canadians, I need your help!

Hello all Canadians out there I am currently pondering accepting a job offer i Canada, Montreal to be specific. The only issue is salary. Now, I dont have any idea what the cost of living in Canada is compared to Sweden. So I was hoping you could give me some basic ideas of prices. Gasoline Milk Coca Cola Dog food Beer Bread Spagetti Coffee Tea Soap Tooth paste Apartment rents Hardware appliances PC games CD's DVD's Clothes Well, you get the idea. Any help is mighty appretiated!

    Canadians, I need your help!

New question: Salary. I need to get a grasp of salary levels. A salary of 50 000 Canadian Dollars/year, would that be considered low income or mid income... or what? One thing is calculating it into my own currency, but that doesnt really tell me how well a salary like that would work based on taxes and cost of living in Canada.

    Jail break in Sweden

Same with the leader of FFL (Fucked For Life). There is just no way that two people like that should even get the chance to escape.

    Jail break in Sweden

I agree with you Denoir. But my point is that we DO have a couple of very dangerous criminals here. And we know who they are, heck, most of them are locked up all ready. But knowing this, and knowing what they are capable of, there should be no way something like this could happen. No way at all.

    Jail break in Sweden

On a general basis, yes, this is true. But these guys dont have much restraint when it comes to this. There have been plenty of cases when criminals like these guys have fired on police and civilians alike. And no, it isnt shocking because we have grown accustomed to it. Thats the pathetic part...

    Jail break in Sweden

Blackdog, I wish you were right but their record speaks otherwise. Last time the infamous gang leader broke out for example he and his friends went on a crime spree which ended up in a shoot out with the police, where he was eventually gunned down. When these guys break out, they to it in order to pull of more crimes. Its not for R&R...

    Jail break in Sweden

They will be pursued, but it wont effect their sentence as far as I know. This time however, they did comitt several crimes during the escape by holding hostages, threatening people, firing at people etc. Add to that the fact that its one famous cop killer and a gang leader, and I'd say the heat is pretty much on and its as hot as its ever gonna get. But the fact that it could happen at all is pathetic.
