    Russian government resigns!

I dont think "resign" is the proper word. As far as I gather, they were fired. I didnt know a government could be fired just like that. Quite odd

    Who runs the wars?

Its fair if all 100% have the option to vote. If then 60% chose not to, its their choice. But its still fair.

    Doghunters from norway

Talk about stupid. Not only did they pull this stunt, which is probably illegal and definately morally wrong, but they also filmed it and kept the tape. After knowing they had injured a man. Scarier still is, how many peacekeepers like this are there over the world (Norweigans and others, I think stupidity is worldwide) that never get caught?

    Doghunters from norway

Yes, they are tabloids. But they still cater to the public and I have a very hard time believing they would put up material deemed to offensive for the public eye. And at any rate, their credibility is not an issue here as the video and comments from various officials speak their own language.

    Doghunters from norway

Me to, as a current dog owner and past dog owner. Thats why it will be interesting to see how people will react to it. Will it be dismissed or will it get heaps of attention (after the initial reaction). In Sweden there will probably be parallels drawn to the seal clubbings taking place in Norway some years ago.

    Doghunters from norway

Maybe, I guess thats up to the mods. Considering its linked from Swedens and Norways largest daily websites, thus good enough for the entire population of two nations, I dont see the harm. Like I said, mods call.

Has the world become too soft.

Some things that effect our outlook might be... 1. Class based societies. In the wars of the past, few people of importance cared how many workers and farmers that died on the battlefield. 2. Increased media coverage. We now get faces to every casualty, and we get to see grieving families etc. 3. Indifference. To many westerners the battles seem distant and irrelivant. "Why should we die for someone else? Its not like we are fighting for our own sakes". 4. To many people to busy being know-it-alls and blowing up every attack or assault in media. "5 soldiers died in ambush. Coalition forces losing the war!" yes I made that up, but I think the point still stands. 5. Increased influence of the individual in democratic societies and better organised anti-war organisations.

    Need some hints

Hey there I am trying to find Nordic (Swedish, Danish, Norweigan and Finnish) websites that deal specifically with MOD making, level design etc on a general scale (not game specific sites). Do any of you Nordic guys know of sites like this?

    Bush vietnam service record released

While I dont think you have to be a veteran to be a president, I dislike anyone who basically says "do as I say - not as I do". Bush doged the war, but he has no doubts about sending others to do the job. He then has the guts to say that he actually put his time in, after nine days of service. That makes me a bloody veteran by those standards, with my four odd years in the Swedish Homeguard. I'd rather see a president that hadnt served and admitted to it, than one that dodged and claims he did his part.

    The Iraq thread 3

Question: A while back someone linked to a movie clip about George Bush SR and the company he worked for. I need the name of that company... I tried finding it, but searching for "George Bush SR" in this forum is like looking for a needle in a stack of needles... : )

    War against terror

I wish this was the case, I am however quite sure it has more to do with the fact that they want people buckled down for safety reasons.

    Far cry's unscripted ai behaviour

Sadly, I doubt it. I suggested it directly to the devs at a presentation but it doesnt seem like they went for it. Hopefully, someone can mod or patch it.

    Far cry's unscripted ai behaviour

No, they havent been busted for anything. There was a raid, but noone has been charged yet and there has definately not even been a sentence passed. So until there is actually any proof of a crime, I doubt they could be considered "busted".

    The Iraq thread 3

Well, that would be relevant if the question was in regards to being right or wrong. But it wasnt. It was about being elitist.

    The Iraq thread 3

Ignorance is bliss, I guess. "e·lit·ism or é·lit·ism ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-ltzm, -l-) n. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources. The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class." So, who is the elitist? The large group of people with an opinion, or the smaller group that refuses to listen to the rest and goes against the majority?

    Sir william gates

22 000 out of a total of 31 000 000 is diddly squat. So, not many poor people in America have jacuzzis either, its actually a quite small figure, in comparison.

    The Middle East part 2

The US recently released three more prisoners from the Guantanamo camp. Whats so strange about it you might ask. Well, it was three kids between 13 and 15. The only reason they were released was because Amnesty and various other Child Rights groups had pushed for their release. I am sure these three children posed a great threat to national security. They were probably hiding nukes in their tree houses... And, to clarify to those who might not get it. Yes, I am fully aware that even a 13 year old can use a weapon and fire at US soldiers. But no, I dont think that warrants them being locked up in a camp like this. Especially since it goes against all international laws (which the camp in itself also does, but never mind this. Its hard times, after all).

    Who´s going to win ?

Of course they are worse. Atleast the Taliban offered stability. These guys just come with chaos. That opinion is based on the luxury of living in a free, safe society and comparing it to something worse. Most of the Afghani people have grown up in war and chaos. To them, any form of government that can prevent random killing could be preferable to not having even the most basic security in their lives.

    Who´s going to win ?

How do you think they managed to get into power in the first place? Simple. Because they offered stability. Yes, their rule was harsh. But as long as you followed the laws (no matter how screwed up we think they are) you would most likely survive. Currently, you can get killed, raped, maimed for no reason what so ever. And noone will stop it.

    Far cry's unscripted ai behaviour

To be honest, I have a hard time taking people seriously when they say the graphics in Far Cry aren't that good. I cant help but to wonder if they are running the game on extreme low graphical settings, or if they just need glasses. On my PC it looks amazing. As for the AI, heck yeah, they do stupid things. But I have also seen them pull of stuff thats pretty down right smart. Last time I heard AI is still one of the key things being worked on though, so I am looking forward to the finished product. At any rate, its still a fun game to play just because the freedom of movement and non-linearity.

    The Middle East part 2

Do you say the same to Israeli kids that get blown up on buses? After all, if they stay home, they wouldnt get hurt. You cant expect people to never leave their homes just because there is a war raging, especially not with this kind of war.

Because they live in these combat zones?

    The Middle East part 2

Seems to be a quite normal skirmish. One side rolls out with tanks and APC's to take out enemy units with mortars and explosives. Defending militia engage APC's and tanks, eight people die. War is hell, I guess.
