Wouldnt it be the biggest credit for some modders to be in the actual "vanilla" game? Just ask some of them and put some credits in. It would be a big step in the right direction, also would bring some positve press about the game i can imagine. You are talkin about vanilla, ye, but dont you think that "vanilla" should be expended a bit from game to game a bit? Its not like vanilla in arma2 means vanilla in arma3. Some new features are already vanilla in arma3 and some more should be added as vanilla in arma3. Modable is all nice and fun, but the problem is that there are some nice "modded features" which should be in a 2013 game as CORE feature. Its quite sad that one has to find the right servers with the right addons enabled to be able to shoot from a littlebird side-bench or rest your MG on a sandbag MG Nest.. I really appreciate your awesome work gentleman, but there is just so much more to get out of this game with a little, let me say diffrent thinking and it makes me somehow sad that some nice things are basicly thrown away because of some "company internal, political desicions.." Just PLEASE think about it and - Give logical, new, core content a chance. -

1. weapon rest 2. TOH flight model 3. shooting out of vehicles 4. new medical system 5. armor simulation (infantry and vehicles) 6. moving inside vehicles 7. 3d interior of vehilces. Yes indeed, everyone has his/her own small list. I also would strongly like: less content like vehicles, guns, diffrent soldier and camo. More features, which we request since years. You can later add more content with 10-20€ DLCs which even brings you more money. Most annoying for me, that for lot of this stuff there are ADDONS, which just needed to be implemented as default by BIS... -
Also true actually, most weapon rests dont even need Bipods in Reallife, as they just put it on sandbags, walls, car hoods, whatever, ALSO if the Gun has bipod its often not used. The only time it would actually make sense is in prone position, and then only when you are firing a machinegun or maybe sniper. So the "animation" of bipods shouldnt be a reason to not implement it.

Thats why i dont really understand why they dont just add some awesome addons and improve them a bit if needed. Its not like they need to ask the developers for it, not pay them. All content belongs to BIS.

So you want them to put away enterable buildings with doors, because you cannot see your hand reachin the door and open it? You want them to put away drivable cars and flyable planes, because you cannot really see doors opening and you jumping in? I doubt so.

Ye, but is it really needed to animate the Bipods? -No. Its also not needed to animate vehicle Doors, to animate hands openening doors of houses and so on. And this has a much bigger visual impact then small Bipods. The function here is needed, very needed and wanted (feedbacktracker Nr. #1) actually.

Thx for reply Druid -is there any chance to see anything like Weapon Rest soon? And does it really need to change the engine for it, because Ace2 in Arma 2 and even an Addon for Arma3 implemented it already quite well. You can even "rest" your gon on a fellow soldiers shoulder :) It doesnt seem to be that complex and time consuming.

Seriously? A new big beta Patch and no mention in the sitrep, about any of the most highest rated things in the feedback tracker? (Weapon Rest and so on) But they include a visible firemode switch on the guns, which you maybe see when u move your head down??? BIS maybe you got your focus a little bit wrong!

Oh comon, without placeholders? Ok then take away "door opening" u cannot see any hands there. Take away entering a car, you cant see doors open there. This are just 2 examples which are much more "Placeholder'ish" then a simply Weapon rest without maybe proper animated Bipods.. Arma is too huge to make all perfect in a realistic time with a rather small team. Noone would care if the Bipods are not animated (maybe animate them later), but the function is strongly needed. Also on normal Rifles without Bipod they wouldnt need to change any animations. -

Indeed. Can we actually, eventually get an answer from some DEVs, why its not in yet? Why Dwarden has to fight since years for this basic, easy to implement feature? We shall not be quiet about weapon rest feature guys. This game should be something like a milsim - ego shooter mix, and for a year of 2013 it is not acceptable that you cannot really use cover like sandbags, walls, stones, fallen trees, car hoods and so on as nice cover and shootin position for weapon rest. If BIS doesnt know how to do it, look at some addons, look at ACE2, lookt at Iron front, or the already released Arma3 Weapon rest addon. Check out games like Red Orchestra or whatnot. Its not soo hard.. GO Dwarden, GO BIS, give us some good newwws :) -

Not lazy at all, they are some badass workin dudes, and doin good stuff. Still they should let 1 guy work to implement some new "GAMEPLAY relevant" features for a bit, and not all just on bugfixing and creating new vehicles, weapons and fancy graphics / physics. I mean there are already some nice addons for: - Weapon rest - Shooting from vehicles - .... I dont understand why they dont just put this addons in as default and overhaul them a bit. -

Ye, this feature is asked for since as long as i play Arma / Operation Flashpoint series. Around 13 Years.. For max. a few hours of work. Always something more important to fix it seems, aye? -

Comon, Dwarden u say u are fighting for this feature since ages. Why the hell should one need to fight for this "easy to implement", "drasticly game improving" and "whished by almost everyone of the communty" Thingy SO LONG? Whats goin wrong there? Just take this damn addon which a nice guy already created and put it in as default. Work for like 5minutes. If u want to quality check that and change a bit of it - Work for 5 hours. -DONE. Whats the problem with it? -

How about a small poll, which devs will setup, to choose from some already (chosen by devs) avaliable Arma3 Addons, which can be voted to get into vanilla game on release? I think there are already some nice small addons which should be totally default in game. Ofcourse a bit tweaked here, a bit changed there, but in general this would reduce the work of devs for adding new features and pleasure the community + motivate addon makers, dont you think? For example, which should be totally ingame on default, wouldnt take much time i guess and is just really annoying that you are forced to use addons, which you mostly cannot use on multiplayer servers: - weapon rest mod (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?155553-VTS-Simple-weapon-resting) - Weapon collusion mod (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=18794) Why not include this, and some other simliar thingies in vanilla? As far is a can remember something like that also was tryed in Arma2, just much too late: A2CCP So what would be the problem about doing this? -
