Are you tired of looking at the green SLA camo?  Do you play misions that are in the desert part of the island, or play on a modfied desert island? This replacement pack changes the default SLA woodland camo VEHICLES to the SLA Desert vehicles created by Rellikki.  This works in Single Player and Multi-Player.  It is client side only, and visually changes the vehicles to the player with the addon.  This addon is not required on the server you are playing to work. You also need Rellikki's Addon to get this addon to work. Installation: 1) Just add Rellikki's Addon and these replacement pack addons to your Addons folder. OR 2) create a mod folder, place all files in folder, and then activate folder in target line of Arma.exe Credit:  This Replacement Pack option was possible because of Colonel SandersLite previous replacement packs.  This replacement pack would not be possible were it not for him.

That sounds excellent. Looking forward to your project being complete. On a side note, would you have anything against someone making a replacement pack addon for your 101 Airborne units?

I have made some user missions and addons that I would like to share with the public. I dont have my own website to upload the files to. Can anyone reccomend a free website that I can upload my files to so that the community has access to download them for use?

My Clan did this... made uniforms with specific nametags and rank for each player in the clan. The one thing you have to realize (if you dont already) is that you can only fit so many unit slots in one catagory, from what I understand. For example, if every soldier class had its own rank, then you would need a pbo addon file for each rank... such as, 1ID_Private, 1ID_Corporal, 1ID_Sergeant, etc, etc. Then in the editor when one wanted to pick a BLUFOR unit, the list would look something like: Men 1ID_Private 1ID_Corporal 1ID_Sergeant ... all the way down the list. Its actually not a bad setup/idea, as long as you dont mind going the extra mile. When a replacement pack is done on this type of addon, it would just be a matter of choosing which rank you wanted to show in place of Arma's default soldier class.

Instead of making the same units with different rank (e.g. Riflemen E2, Riflemen E4), would it be wiser (and easier) to just have each soldier type with a different rank dispalyed on their uniform. (e.g. Rifleman is E1, Grenadier is Corporal, Squad Leader is Sergeant, Sniper is SSgt, Engineer is Sergeant, Team Leader is Capt, Pilot is Lt, etc). As a user of your Addon, I am not sure how I would really get alot out of having the same class with different rank. On the other hand, it would be nice to see the different units with various rank based on their class. Plus, I would like all the units to fall in line with the default classes so that a Replacement Pack Addon can be done to mirror the default units, like in your 1ID addon. Just my 2 cents as a user/consumer of your great Addons.

This is a bad idea/suggestion. Â Keep it real, Engineers and Medics are NOT Chaplains, so they should continue to get points for killing the enemy. Â When I'm in either of these roles, I'm with my squad mates fighting when necessary, and supporting the war effort applicable to the role of Engineer or Medic. I never said engineers/medics had to stop fighting... you just dont get points for kills, was my idea.

The uniforms can be changed via ColonelSanders replacement packs, which is a client side only addon. You get the best of both worlds that way.

McDonald, Do you plan on doing other Infantry units? Â Like MPs, or 3rd Infantry Division? ColonelSanders, Do you plan on making a replacement pack for the 101 Airborne Units Addon?

Kronz, In addition to the Helo shuttle (that is an excellent idea on your part, btw) that returns you to base, would it also be possible to have a second helo shuttle that brings you OUT to the battle. Either set the waypoint via map, or enter a map grid for landing, or have preset waypoints near each city and you pick the drop-off point from a list? It this at all possible?

BUG? While using this addon, I still get the mini-zoom when I bring a M203 up to aim through the sights. I know using the sights for the M203 was a new feature in 1.08, so that is probably why TrueView wasnt setup to get rid of the zoom effect on that particular weapon.

IT would be nice if Colonel Sanders Lite, or someone, could make a replacement pack for this. It would go well with the USMC marpat replacement pack uniforms in multiplayer missions.

McNools, Is it still possible that you may add the Ka-50, Mi-17 (mg), and Mi17 (ffar) to this desert pack? I know you mentioned it above, but that was back in May. JUst checking to see if its still possible in an updated version.

What he said. the new SIDE he is talking about is in the list where the BLUFOR and OPFOR names are. Choose "emply" and you will see all the options to place vehicles.

After reading some of the posts about how players take a engineer slot, but only use it to go lone wolf, I have an idea... Is it possible to disable points for kills if you are an engineer or medic? This would limit the way a player would get points to only healing/repairing, clearing city, or POW capture, etc. This would deter players who only want to go out and kill enemy troops from picking these classes, since they wouldnt get any points for kills. A player who picks engineer or medic would then focus on healing /repairing to get points, which is what their true jobs are anyway.

Suggestion: Where the main officer spawns in the city, is it possible to have some tents, sandbag walls, and MG nests spawn around him. Basically, have like a small OPFOR command center spawn with the officer, in addition to the security soldiers that spawn with him. This way, the general of the city just isn't hanging around in an empty field. Afterall, shouldn't the a general in charge of the city be in some type of Mobile Command Center?

According the the pic you posted, the GPS is right where it is suppose to be. Its not meant to be all the way to the left of the screen.

This has been suggested before, but Kiljoy wants to keep the "freedom to move" aspect on the battlefield. He doesnt want to make the mission to linear.
