That is a new AI feature- kamikazi mode. When the pilot runs out of ammo, he will drop from the sky and ram his helicopter into you.

Sickboy already has a secondary sight script in his weapons addon pack (See MODS: Complete forum). His M14's/M21's have ACOGS and other ranged sights, and you can switch to the seconard Close-Quarters sights on top of the sight itself.

There is Photoshop 3.0 ($100), and Photoshop CS ($600). If I want to do paa editing to change uniform and vehicle skins, which of the above versions are adequate? I dont want to buy Photoshop 3.0 only find out that I really need CS to make decent skins. However, if Photoshop 3.0 is more than enough for editing, then I will prefer that because of the price. Suggestions?

Thanks Ebud. Â Looks like the artist I had to "help" me with the vest, really just duped me. Â Guess I need to do more of a background check when getting "original" work from others I have helping me. I hate to be a stickler for the little things, but since you passed up my post without answering it, but answered the two posts after me, i will politely ask again.... Did you get permission from KilJoy to edit his mission? From a line in the first post that says, , I am going to assume the answer is "no," until I get confirmation.PS: Don't get me wrong. I love the idea of a XAM version for Evolution. I would just like to make sure it is done through the proper channels (i.e. permission from creator) before I download it.

How many people would be interested in me making a Replacment Pack addon for all the soldiers and vehicles in the XAM 1.3 Mod so that you could "see" all the XAM units when playing SP or MP on a regular Arma sever? (Unit Replacement pack addons are client side only. They work like Sound mods).

VBS2: VBS2 is the military training version of Arma. Â It does however contain all Arma units (under a "Game" catagory in the editor) and maps and is 100% compatible with Arma Addon Units and missions. It comes with additional maps, such as realistic recreations of cities in Iraq. Since VBS2 is so new, it still has a small community, but it is growing everyday. Â There are dedicated servers running missions for VBS2. Â VBS2, out the box, comes with 5 intro SP missions, but no MP missions. In addition to having everything Arma has, VBS has its own advancements that separates it from Arma. Â I recomend watching the video at http://www.vbs2.com/site/downloads.html ] VBS2] to learn about some of the features. One feature, of many, is that you can "use personal items" while you are standing in a turret or turned out. Â If you turned out of the tank commander postion that has the mounted machine gun, you can "release" the machine gun and turn your soldier's body while turned out, without turning the machinegun. Â You can then switch to personal weapons (rifle, sidearm, grenades, binocs) and use them while turned out. Â For example, you can turn out of the commander's seat in a tank, throw a grenade, then turn back in. There is much more, but what I posted (and watching the videos in the link) should give you a general idea of what VBS2 is about.

Since this addon is nothing more then a config file, is it possible to turn this into a script that can be implimented in missions? I guess someone who is a script-expert, like Sickboy, would know?

Photoshop is the best name brand to buy though, right? Or is there another one out there that is reccomended over Photoshop?

Which photoshop version is adequate for changing appearance of uniforms and vehicles? there is Photoshop 3.0, and Photoshop CS. The CS is much more expensive then the 3.0 version, but is it neccessary, or is the 3.0 version plenty?

 i did this 2 months ago on one of my soldiers, at night it shows switch light on -switch lights off by the game game default light. but i released nothing. as the reflector stands on the ground and not on any part of the soldier. waiting for tools. but now for weapon just add a reflector  and it will work as you know the proxy places, you can attach the light were you want, and don't need to wait for the tools ! Can a light addon be made for weapons?

I would actually like to see the Addon split into several small addons, which the player can pick which ones to activate. Such as, A XAM Artillery Addon, a XAM uniform Addon, XAM sound addon, XAM mines addon, etc. It could all go in one mod folder, but then players could pick and choose what parts they wanted to activate.

Plasman, Do you plan on making a complete UN Package that covers all of the RACS class units (i.e. M113, Vulcan, Pilot, Crewman, etc). The replacement pack I made for your Addon is limited because not all the classes are present. For example, I had to use the AT soldier p3d to cover the crewman uniform. It works Ok, but it would be better if all classes had their own p3d file. A white UN M113, Vulcan, and MH-6 would be good to, so it covers the RACS vehicles in game.

Posting the last few error messages from your arma.rpt file would probably help diagnose it. I would prefer if you did that in the thread for the replacement pack so anybody who uses it can spot the problem and steps taken. Just in case you don't know, arma.rpt is found in the place arma saves your user files. Â I'm not positive what that is exactly since I have mine set to be c:\games\arma\users\, but if I remember, it's something like c:\documents and settings\yourwindowsusername\application data\arma\. I'll grab a copy of XAM soon and see if I can't isolate the problem myself. Â I'm betting that it's some sort of conflict. Just to throw out a quick possiblity, Doesn't the XAM mod have its own SF uniform change? Therefore if you add a replacement pack into the mix, you would be trying to tell Arma to put two uniforms on one solider... hence, the crash.

I know this addon was made awhile back. It should be 100% compatible with version 1.08, correct?

I think these units might use old infantry models. Squad logos weren't introduced onto the human models until one of the later patches (1.07 beta I think) so these units may not have the necessary selections. oh that sucks, those textures are my favourite, but without squad logo? hmm no, is there a chance to add the textures to the newer models? tomorrow, I'll update it with the newer soldier models.If i have time, should only take a few minutes. Will it be DCU or the current ACU? -
Good to hear from you KilJoy. As for your AA unit issue, have you looked into Mando Missle Scripts? You can add warning indicators and chaffs/flares to air vehicles, among other options. Best thing about it is that its not an Addon, its 100% scripts in the mission itself, thus compatible with vanilla Arma.

Yes, I have to agree with other posts. A 1.7gig download that will take over 5 hours is not something I am willing to do. Please work with the others who have posted in this thread to cut the size down on this addon.
