    I would look even better if UAZ/Civilian just became immobile after geting some small arms fire, maybe some black dense smoke pouring from under the hood. Flat tire instad of "arma 1 black wheel texture" would be great too . Cars should only explode after beeing hit by HE tank shell, hellfire etc. and sometimes after beeing hit by the AT or after many high caliber hits.

    Just curious, what's weird about them? I dont know how to explain it I just prefer explosions from Your mod to ArmA1, ArmA 2 explosions don't look real, they're kinda slow, there is to many fire in them and there are some weird fireball postdetonations few meter away from vehicle. And still, You can clearly see vehicle turning into "destroyed model" and 0.5 sacond later we can see slow explosion.

    Nice trailer, way better than publishers cut Here are my first thoughts : + graphics look really good with new shaders. + I like new sounds ( M4 and PKM sounds top notch) + Ability to climb over low fences, great ! + Hand signals ! sweet - Some animations still looks poor, same old death animations if ragdoll is impossible make at least more death animations for some variety, it's immersion killer when You kill 3 enemy soldier with one saw burst and they all do the same "synchronic twist drop" and land in the very same position on the ground :/ - empty shells still appears 10 cm from to the ejector and vertically drop to the ground, I know it is nitpicking but it looks really bad in 2009 realistic infantry simulator :/ - Explosions still looks weird, Hopefully Madmatt will fix it - Same "tab,kill,tab,kill,tab,kill" aiming system in choppers Choppers in ArmA are antitank machineguns with aimbot implemented

  6. I don't know if ArmA2 needs to be delayed, but if so, please delay it and don't release it as unfinished and bugged as ArmA1.

    I know what you mean. I stoped playing Arma campaing on the mission where I had to destroy 4 tanks by myself O_o

There is no "ArmA 2 Tracers topic" only few post scatered around ArmA 2 forums so I decided to open this one to discuss this very important matter with you Guys First of all lets gather all information about tracers in ArmA 2: - BIS stated that there will be realistic tracers in ArmA2 ( dont remember where I read this statement) , Im happy to hear that. I think it was said that ArmA 2 will have VBS2 tracers which would made me very happy man Check those tracers -> youtubeat 59 second and youtube 2 at 49 second - you can see beautiful tracers in both videos. Â Can anyone confirm this information.... BIS Â - Second information about tracers in ArmA 2 can be found in this video, You can see chopper shoting tracers which looks very good, its hard to judge due to video low quality but for sure those tracers looks better then ArmA 1 tracers. One of the best tracers I saw in computer game has been moded into ArmA 1 in 6th sense pack1 so we know that ArmA engine is capable to simulate realistic tracers, I believe that BIS can do tracers even better and I hope that tracers will get better treatment in ArmA2 than in ArmA1.     I've just found new info about tracers in ArmA2 Weapons and Vehicles PDF ( duno how I missed it earlier ) "The accurancy and power of each weapon was configured based on the real-life experience of our military advisors. Not only does ammunition type influence the power of a round, but also the number and colour of tracers which were also designed according to real-life specifications" We can find 2 important informations about tracers in ArmA2 1. Tracers affect rounds balistic performance. 2. We have more then one colour of a tracers. good to hear that Â

    Game physics

    I woudnt expect big changes in ArmA2 physics. It looks like AmrA2 will be like ArmA1 wirh better graphics, multicore optimalisation, improoved AI and lots of new features, weapons and vehicles but engine stays the same.

    Eric, did you miss the ingame video where a soldier carrys another, drops him and then another begins first aid on him? Ahhh now I rememeber that, it was a bit buged if I recall, medic first started to provide first aid on the ground 2-3 meters away from wounded soldier, then he warped to the soldier and begun to "shake" during first aid animation. Dragging and carying animations looks top notch, I wonder what will be the diference in gameplay between thos two action I suspect that : -dragging = quick reaction on surprise contact, slow movement -carying = slow reaction reaction but faster movement

    Still no destroyed models

    I agree that community moders are nothing without BIS and I disagree that everything that BIS made is better than moders made, sounds and effects are good examples. Most of sound mods available on this forums are way better than original ArmA 1 sounds which are one of the worst sounds I have heard lately in any shoter. MadMatt's effect for ArmA makes this game way better, lets take grenade explosion for an example, its hard to even compare original poor explosion to great dusty detonation from MM mod. You shouldnt be tiered of "community made this and that" because most of Arma players lauch game upgraded by hundreds mb of addons/mods made by community and this game wouldnt be that good without extremly tallented and dedicated community it has.

    @Alex[Dev]72 - Im not sure but according to videos I linked in my initial post it looks like that VBS2 tracers glow. Its hard to compare 6th sense tracers to VBS2 tracers because I only saw VBS2 tracers on those two low quality tube vids and I watch beautiful 6th sense tracers almost everyday @Jakerod - I linked this chopper video in my initial post.
  19. www.flashpoint2-game.com I have more faith in ArmA 2 project but of course I will also check ofp2 Im just almost sure that ofp2 will be arcade, entertaining shooter pretending to be tactical realism war simulator. There is many game like this released lately ( GRAW, new R6 games)
  20. I agree, sound is after gameplay and graphics most important immersion factor. I will be very happy if we receive top-notch sounds in initial release. I know that talented moders like Chammy can repair/replace it within few months but I wish that their time could be spend on adding new content to the game not repairing broken one.

    Tracers

    Does anyone know if there will be any improvement in ArmA 2 ? I hated original ArmA tracers, it was more like long, laser-like, thin lines. It took some time before it was fixed in 6th-sense pack 1. I dont know about You Guys but for me tracers are very importand feature in game like ArmA.
  23. - Optimalisation/performance ! - I managed to run arma on high almost 2 years after it was released ( after two hardware upgrades) , and even with c2d e 6550, gf gts260, 3 gb ram it still sometimes have major FPS drops in woods and in cities. Somethings definately wrong. Please fix it in ArmA 2. - Smooth character controls - There are many things that should be fixed in character controls, You should be able to reload while walking, you should be able to interupt animations like reloading, throwing the nade while jogging etc etc plus killed enemies shoudnt finish their current animation before dying. You should be able to move 2 cm left and 3 cm ahead if You want to not one animation cycle. - campaign- Make it realistic, please no more missions like " You have to destroy 4 enemy tanks by yourself ! here is your launcher and you have some rockets pilled on the hill up there ! go go ! " - sounds- sound is the first thing I "repair" with sound mod after reinstalling arma. Plase make decent sounds this time, Id like to think that sound mod is an optional stuff not a must. - tracers - Do them right this time please, they should look like in 6th sense pack1. - mouse lag/inertia - Fix it please, its one of the most annoying things in arma when I try to aim at enemy who just poped up and cant stop my ironsights on him.
