If suitable maps aren't available then there are military cartographers, but whatever maps are being used topographical data would always be included, it is tactically extremely important.Yes, i agree, not only they are tactically important, imo they are essential. Well, that's exactly my point. Why didnt't BIS put them on the map in the briefing screen?

Those are spot heights. There is a differenceExcuse my ignorance, but what are spot hights?
Spot heights are the height at that specific spot on the map. Unfortunately they don't replace contour elevations, the height at which a particular contour sits usually marked as a figure on the line of a contour. eg.
Oh, i see. Tnx for clearing that for me. But now i'm puzzeled with something else. We are talking about isohyps (curves that connect spots of the same hight on the map), right? They exist on geodesic or geographic maps, but do they exist on military maps?
I haven't seen one, so i wouldn't know. Anyone?

+1 on the map contours. I wish for elevation numbers on major contour lines etc. Often when zoomed in between several hills it is difficult to tell what is going up and what is going down, where is the lowest point between 3 hills. So some sort of shading or elevation markings on contours would be realistic and useful, and fun.
Aren't those black numbers all over the map actually elevation numbers?

Of course you should buy it. Or better yet, buy GOTY, there you have CWC, Resistance and Red hammer, all nicely bundled up in one great package.

ArmA will probably substitute OFP, but I will keep my cds intact and in a safe place, maybe try it out once in a while.

I think they should keep it the way it is, theres no sence in printing new DVDs with another name

Come back to OFP? Hell, i've never left in the first place! Of, course, i don't play it all the time, but when i play it (and it is often), i play coop. Unfortunately, played it in LAN only, due to tragic circumstances of not having internet connection (in this day and age, can you believe it! ) Hope that ArmA will have everything that OFP has to offer, and than some! I like Swat4 too for the same reason i like OFP: great slow-paced coop (allthough its totaly different gameplay).

Hi, all! This is my first post. I've been watching this forum for a while now, and I've decided to join Found this thread just today, and I've been searching for the briefcase man for the last five hours or so! Finnaly I figured it out. Theres just one thing thats bugging me: are we talking about the same man? Colonel in OFP: Res = general in OFP: CWC? If that is so, how come they have different names? Btw, pictures are great.
