    ArmA Progress Updates

That's exactly my point: ArmA is ArmA, Game2 is Game2 and OFP2 is OFP2. Why call ArmA "unofficial OFP2"? Those are two different games, and they are that for a long time now...i don't care what Codemasters will do, i care what BIS will do Sorry if i sound too excited, it's not ment for you TiOn3r

Czech ArmA Special - Download Here!

Yeah, that means people really care about this game and are anxious to play it, so we should be happy that people want to contribute to these discussions. Edit: It's called forum after all, right?

Inoffizielle Operation flashpoint 2 - unofficial Operation flashpoint 2? I don't wanna sound meticulous, but where do they get their information from?

Commandos 2 comes to mind. It sure would be quicker than the old system. Something similar was in Hidden & dangerous 2, if i remember correctly.

    the character models

I agree, and i think that BIS wouldn't put that kind of "feature" in the game just to make soldiers look pretty. How great impact will it have on gameplay is left to see, i guess.

    ArmA Progress Updates

Thats actually old news. Actually this is also in Elite, even staring at lights from cars or other lightsource will damage your eyesight. Oh, tnx, it's clearer now, i thought you could permanently damage your eyes by looking at the sun (which would happen to you in RL)

    ArmA Progress Updates

Of course, but IMO, in ArmA it could mean the difference between (virtual) life and death, you could build your whole tactics around the position of the Sun. If you approach the target with the Sun behind your back, the enemy would have a great disadvantage. I like it!

Yes, unfortunately, you're right. But they have the right to play any game they like ... i just hope they give up playing ArmA when they realise it's just a "mean" one-shot-kill kind of game...

    ArmA Progress Updates

Quote from the interview: Paul R. Statham:...If we were to try to release some kind of half baked, dumbed down concept in our new game we'd most likely be lynched, so fortunately for us that was something we could never consider... Does this need a comment at all? Another qoute: ...if you stare at the sun you damage your eyesight, common sense really!... OMG!!! can it get more realistyc than i thought? And another: ...Then a level beyond that we're going to have hard coded into the game a mode of play similar to the immensely popular capture the island, this aims to be a persistent, largescale conflict, fought over the whole island for hours, even days at a time... YESSS!!! Go BIS, we're with you all the way! Great find, plaintiff1 and bush Edit:

I just downloaded and watched that video. Is it my imagination, or BIS improved strafing with iron sights up? Also, the animation of getting in the truck, i like it. Btw, i love czech language, it sounds so fluent Edit: Oh, yes, that centered aim, i don't like that

Yes, all we care in the end is a great gameplay, and we know that will be implemented for sure

Of course not! If BIS said the island would be 400km2, than that's it! That information was revealed i don't know how long ago, but guys, don't take it all so seriously, let us have our fun of speculating and creating little myths around this superb game, we'll tell stories about it to our grandchildren someday...

I don't like my table to be filled with all kinds of controllers, but to tell you the truth, i've never tried a joystick in OFP, i should give it a try! And yes, i use the num pad buttons sometimes when on foot, but when i'm driving they're quite useless.

You're right. From your pic, 8×8km=64km2. And it's not even all land, there's atleast 20% of water...well, you shattered our dreams after all! But surely, BIS wouldn't do that to us, don't you think?

    Leaning?

Oh YESSS! Thanks Tomek666PL and Ti0n3r, i missed that somehow.

What do you *HOPE* will be in ArmA?

[quote name=Ti0n3r,April 26 2006,09:43 I also hope they change the way you hide bodies. It would be better if you could drag away bodies instead of just make them sink into the ground. Yes, i would like that too. We would play OFP like Commandos in 1st person view

    Carrying abilities

I think Hidden & dangerous 2 has a very good system. You choose between characters with various carrying properties that range from cca 21 to 34 kg (if i remember correctly). Of course, if you take too much equipment, you're slower etc. But you can choose how many magazines you'll carry, or if you wanna take some AT mines or explosives, or maybe bazooka, it's all up to you and your preferences, and also you can drop it and pick it up again any time you want...hope this is not too offtopic but maybe it's close to what Randy is saying...

    Leaning?

Oh Tomek666PL, don't joke about this pls, this is quite important. How could i miss it? In which video was that shown???!!!

The best solution to this would be what rg7621 and X AL suggested: Track IR. If i could get my hands on one of those...

Kerber.cz, basicly what you are saying is this: When you activate free look (ALT or *), you don't want to move your mouse so much to the left or right to see what's going on. You want free look to "activate" more quickly, lets say when you move your mouse one centimeter (or inch) to the right, free look "activates", and when you want to look back in front of you, you just have to move your mouse slightly to the left. All this so you don't have to drag your mouse all over the table. I agree with you, and it would be nice if BIS implemented this in ArmA.

What do you *HOPE* will be in ArmA?

I agree. I guess the first thing a soldier would do when he/she comes across a dead sodier (enemy or friendly) is to rase the alarm and inform CO, aspecially if the body is near the camp or the base, i would like to see that too. But, on the other hand, special forces soldiers (in OFP atleast) can hide the body...maybe it can be made so the grunts could do it too? So if you forget to hide the body, and enemy sodier sees it after a while, he raises the alarm and you are f****d, to say the least...

How many of you use ALT, and how many * key? I use * key, you don't have to hold it down...

Play OFP with voice recognition software

I edited the profile, put another word instead of "squad", and i get the same thing. It works in shoot, but not in the game.
