Maybe he has some extra strength in that finger so he can hold SAW like that... Edit: Quote from the interview: "Real constellations and tides: Armed Assault's great depth even includes such features as fully simulated star maps. Navigate at night by following the stars. Lunar cycles and tides are also fully simulated." Maybe we could locate Sahrani by positions of the stars. All we need is astronomer. Anybody knows one? Another quote: "It features a blend of large-scale military conflict spread over large areas alongside more in your face closed quarters battles." CQB? Hope we could have better ones than in OFP.

Then i guess animations are not done yet, or this is just an old pic.

I've never had SAW in my hands so i'm asking you guys: can he hold it like that and run? I found on the internet that their weight is 16.5 lbs (around 7.5 kg?). I'm confused.

Well, it works good enough in SWAT4. It's very conveniant if you don't have to worry about "in game voice chat" programmes, you just configure it ingame and it works.

Nothing fancy really, a friend told me about the demo, i tried it and was hooked instantly. The history: In 1999.(and later on) i was playing Hidden and dangerous and there was a feature i've never seen in a game before. Iron sights. And also it was not like: you have 10 or so weapons on you, and one of them is bound to work on enemy that just spawned. No, you had to be smart and use tactics to outsmart the enemy. To make it short, i liked it alot. Well, the time went by and i kinda forgotten about it, but then i've played this OFP demo. It was everything i liked about H&D, and then some! That was it for me. Well, since 2001. i convince people (known and unknown, i sometimes feel quite embarrased) to play this great game; at the moment the ones on the "shooting range" are my brother and one of my friends. They've played OFP before, but now they have second thoughts. I think they're intimidated by this game

Does it really matter? I'd also sugest the thin joining of the two main sections. logical choice really. It doesn't really, i was just curious

@ Bobor SK That second photo...WOW!!!

I think the video is excellent, i also think discussing politics would take us nowhere.

I was thinking the same thing.

Thanks for the info meyamoti, i never really knew what changes were made in OFP: Elite

A question: if both countries are on Sahrani island, where is international border? Was it even mentioned?

Tnx, jammydodger. Quote from PC PowerPlay: "We find ourselves as soldiers in a conflict during the Cold War again."

Yes, i loved that too. You had assault team and fire team (if i remember correctly) and you could combine them to approach and flank the enemy and it worked really well. Just one thing. Those teams were allready split up in the beggining. In OFP you have your squad of lets say 10 men (not including you). You split them into two 5 men teams, and then you can use them as two separate teams, just like in BiA. Since i don't know s**t about programming, i don't know how difficult would it be to put it in ArmA. IMO it would be pretty difficult. But if it could be done, it would give ArmA a whole new dimension. Maybe Game2?

I'll say this only once so i don't have to post the same thing every time: great pics all!!!

Hehe, it happened to all of us, i guess

I just remembered something that was bothering me since i started playing OFP. Hand grenades. There are only grenades with contact method of detonation. Are they still in use? I wish we have grenades with timed fuse. Pls, correct me if i'm wrong. Edit: What i mean is, the grenades explode on contact with ground, they don't roll in a direction of the throw, which they should if they had timed fuse (3-7 seconds or something like that)

That's how it should be, i agree. How difficult it would be to implement it, i don't know, but it would be a nice feature.
-
It's very nicely done in Swat4, if the terrorist is "treated" with flashbang and surrounded by Swat members he will surrender, of course it's QCB, but i guess something similar could work in ArmA too. Btw, since it's probably too late for AI changes in ArmA, these ideas for AI improvements would apply for Game2 also, don't you think?
-
It would be even nicer to shoot with two UZIs
-
Let me just add that in BF2 there is no one-shot-kills (not that i saw, and i played BF2 MP demo), so gameplay is very wild and fast, while in ArmA and OFP you have to be way more carefull, because it usually takes only one bullet to kill you, thus making gameplay slow(er). Come to think of it, there's really no similarity between BF2 and ArmA, well they both have soldiers and tanks etc., but are totally different, i think this is actually a good thing.

IMO, if they wanted to relate it to Operation flashpoint in any way, they should've said: "Armed assault, from the developers of Operation flashpoint", or something like that, but i guess people (gamers) who don't know the whole story will get confused anyway... Btw, does your friend have a permit for that M249
