FYI, I have previously used steam and I no longer have it on my computer. As far as I am concerned it is to intrusive for my tastes.
-
I would suggest sprocket over steam every time. Just look at the steam troubleshooting thread to see why. Why make anything even more complicated than it has to be? Besides with Sprocket the developers get more of your money than they do from a steam sale.

For the recoil. Its much better now.

To be honest when I kill an enemy I am to busy looking for the next one to admire how he dies. What do you want, scores for delivery, difficulty of dive and artistic impression? Sheesh!

Pressing Esc instead of F# will select all units under your comand. -
I am getting the following error when I start some missions. "No entry 'bin|config.bin/CfgMagazines.40Rnd_23mm_AZP85". I can just click continue and carry on but its annoying having this pop up every time. Can anyone help me as to how to get rid if it?
-
Well after a bit of checking I discovered that the error was caused by the CAA1 addon being enabled. I still dont know how to fix it but at least I know how to avoid it. Can I suggest that the other posters who are experiencing No entry bin errors disable all addons and see if that helps their problem? P.S. If anyone knows how I can cure my problem without having to disable CAA1, please let me know.

I crawled to the tanks and placed satchels then crawled to the Service point and left satchel then sneaked to gas station and planted satchel. withdrew in the direction of exfiltration and when behind some rocks, set the lot off. then made my way to exfiltration and avoided any patrols on the way there. I didn't want to get in a fire fight with them as I wasn't sure if there were any others in the area. Result was a total success.

ArmA2: Operation Arrowhead Impressions - ALL OA Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here

Lord Byte, The answer is simple. Dont pay for a Ford or Chevvy and expect to get a Rolls Royce. You Bought the Arma series. Not satified? then go buy VBS2. For the majority of users the ArmA series seems to do what it was meant to do. I certainly don't have any major complaints and at my age I am past being any kind of "Fan Boy". I consider my purchase good value for money. -
Your ace2 stuff will still be there in ArmA2 .exe and the option to run Ace2 under expansion in the OA menu will also be there. Whether or not it would work in OA is another matter. I dont know if its been made fully compatible yet. (I don't think it has but I cant be certain as I don't have Ace 2 installed.).
-
I couldn't agree more!
-
No. If you have installed OA into ArmA2, you now have the option to start your original Arma2 from OA .exe or from your original Arma2 .exe. If you start from the ArmA2 .exe then it will be as if you had never installed OA. You will play as before and only have access to ArmA2 original content in the game. If however you start the game from the OA .exe you will have access to the new content that comes with OA and also be able to access the content from ArmA2 original. As long as you have downloaded the latest patches for ArmA2 and OA you wont have to worry about going back to older patches. All this sounds way more complicated than it is.

I dont think the Takistanis are the bad guys because they are socialist or Islamic extremist. I think they are the bad guys because they they are threatening their neighbours and destabilising the entire region. I think the only reason for refering to them as socialist was to explain their ex soviet weaponry. As for making them Islamist extremist, it would be unwise for any publisher to demonise any religion in the current political climate. I see their socialism and islamist belief as coincidental more than anything else. After all, the majority of the middle east is Islamist. -
I have added CAA1 to my ArmA2 and my OA. My problem now is that when I enter the editor I get US army under Blufor but no men under class section. In Arma2 I get a couple of armour entries and a support entry, while in OA I only get warfare buildings showing up. I realise that is because I dont have all the units installed so I was wondering what can I do to get rid of the US Army entry showing up in the editor or better still install all the missing units such as US Army and RACS?

You shouldn't need your modified shortcut. Just launch your mods via the expansions option in the menu.

Make civilians more sensitive to time. Just as an experiment I placed the ambient civilain module running in the editor on Takistan and went and did other things. When I eventually returned to the computer hours later, it was 1:30 am and there were still quite a few civilians walking around in the villages.

Wrong! The german 88 anti aircraft gun was actually converted and used as the main gun on the Tiger tank solely as a result of the success of the anti aircraft version being used as a tank stopper. -

How did you install the patch? You do know that you dont just put the download into the root folder and leave it at that dont you? You have to unzip and then install the patch by clicking on the exe. Apologies if you already know this.

As Noraf says, it is possible to do what you want by assigning the squad members to different colour coded fire teams.
