    So are you ditching this project for now? - If not, I would want to ask you to create a smdi file for each texture. Otherwise, you will always have the BiS texture SMDI shine through the model.. Just copy paste for now, I can get you the right files.

    Well you have my blessing to merge ;) - I think Chairborne has taken the bird 10 steps in the right direction; I hope it doesn't get swapped for something with that might be less advanced. Don't do work twice I would say! The thing I hate the most is seeing 10 people mod the same thing in poor quality. I rather see one really good add-on, with multiple names under it. Chairborne's visual modifications are just right - the sound is spot on, the functionality is getting there! So get together and work something out.. ;)

    Working on the textures. I'll send them to you so you can implement them correctly. Are you planning to include a service menu -e.g. John Paul's? With several liveries and loadouts, that would be very nice. Allright. Some nit picking to make this thing even more awesome; Sounds are amazing. Thank you chairborne. That makes a lot of difference. Most importantly: to make this mod in any sense usable in the co-op environment (where most players are), we really-really-really need a precision guidance system for munitions. GPS is an option, like the F-18 uses. Otherwise lazer-directed would be an option. Either way, you need a system that can deliver a bomb -within certain parameters- on a set location. That is even more important than a ISTARS system. In that way, you make the mod usable for any unit playing multiplayer operations. I would separate the formation lights as separate lights. The collision light should only be the navigation lights (red,green,white) and strobes (red top and bottom strobe). Having them separate would be more functional as formation lights are a combat feature for a/c. Finally it would be nice to have more swing on the front wheel (but that may be a engine limitation). And finally, do we have a suitable pilot mod? ;)

    That sounds really good. However, ingame -the textures still appear mirrored. How do you get this running? How can I see the unmirrored version? And what texture files represent this? Do you need double texture.paa files? Allright - I get your angle. The NOHQ probably don't need doubling. The SMDI does need doubling, since it gives depth and shine to the textures at hand -as far as I know. It might be possible to make a bland double-use SMDI map, but that means that textures will not have a special feature. EDIT: does anyone know what the maximum texture resolution is for the .paa? Or how to boost textures?

    Back on the job.. Chair, I can get you the skins - but can you make the addon package ready for use; that means having different (maps) sections already spread out and named. As I saw that you also tackled the mirroring issue, you might set me up so I only have to add the texture by overwriting.. I am in the progress of finishing the following skins. That mostly means weathering and finalising. If I see this I might be back to help you next month.. ;) Do me a favor and edit the lightning and sound if you can? The sound is what bugs me the most about this bird (as it is currently sounding like a radial piston engine bird..)

    Due to real-life obligations, I need to end the skinning business. Its a shame, but I'll donate my work to the community. I would encourage my inspirators - Red Hammer Studios - to take up where I left and use it to their benefit. I rather see my work within a good mod than being used for all kinds of rocket-propelled 1-day wonders.. Feel free to use, manipulate and spread. Many hours have gone into this program, building the textures from scratch within CorelDraw (which should be easy to port to AI). By doing so, it becomes very easy to make new textures.     FRL_Air mod WIP

    Nice HAWX-like effect, but that seriously takes away the realism of the mod. Especially in Turbofan-engined aircraft like the A-10, the flame is ridiculous since it will never be seen in real life as it has no re-heat. In short; you should get rid of any flame-like animations, except for afterburner effects.

    You are right. The model still is not true to real life proportions, but Chairborne might be able to fix that in a later version.

    He's probably referring to the more stub nose of the AV-8B+ - and the addition of FLIR stubs on the GR.7/9 version. Another thing - I suggest you do allow VTOL - as during realistic approaches on an LHD, the plane lacks the power to remain even in a hover next to the ship (often resulting in crashes, even when disabling autohover -due to the low speed). I know that allows unrealistic VTO with full battle loads, but that is something I should leave up to players. The inability to properly do an approach is more annoying than the potential unrealistic vertical take-offs. But that's my view. Secondly, we really should get a proper targeting possibilty. A camera or GPS guidance would be great - like the systems used by Saul and J Spartan on their F-18s.. Maybe we can ask them for help. That way, this add-on is not just nice, but becomes a true asset for the realism gaming community..     Inspiration: There is a problem with the release though, that we may update in the next release; the SMDI and NOHQ maps are old. - that means that the old BiS graphics will still shine through. I would suggest getting rid of the BiS textures alltogether and make place for two UMSC ones, a Italian one, a Spanish one and three versions of the GR.9. Get ready for a texture overload. I will consider taking requests!
