Perhaps I should clarify my point. I'm on a 1.8 with Radeon 9600SE and 256mb RAM. The pause it get is perhaps less than a second, but it's still noticeable. That was just me nitpicking, it's still totally playable

There was a real LSW version of the FAL tha the Argentine forces used during the Falklands War. Random fact #6124

Regarding the .30/GPMG thing, if it's any help, my old man drove one around Cyprus in the 70's and all the Ferrets (ones with turrets) in his unit had mounted Brownings. It was probably the late 70's to early 80's when they finally got round to mounting gimpies on them all. -
Congratulations Earl! Looks like we're not going to have to wait two years for really good weapons in OFP2... they'll be in there from day one now

By "real shell" I meant a simulated shotgun cartridge, as opposed to ten individual bullets fired in a burst, like all the shotgun addons before this have used.
-
...erm, this shotgun's scripted so that it doesn't fire ten bullets all at once, it fires a "real" shell. It sounds awesome too, especially when you come barrelling out of the undergrowth on Tonal with it, punching holes in the enemy troops who just marched past without seeing you

Very impressive indeed! The slight pause before each round of buckshot is a neccesary evil I suppose, but I'm impressed. Works just like on the tin though, at close range you can put anyone down with a chest shot, but when firing at longer ranges, you're almost guaranteed a hit, if not a kill due to the spread. The inclusion of a verion that fires solid shot (12g. slugs) is also very welcome. My only suggestions would be to make a duckbilled version (not sure if the M590 will accept a duckbill, but hey). For the uninitiated, a duckbill's sort of like a vacuum-cleaner attachment that you put on the end of the barrel which makes the spread of the shot go in a thick horizontal line, instead of a circle, which makes close-to-medium combat in jungle or grassland much easier, as it's just a case of point in the general direction and fire.

So, that thing in PC Gamer (UK) about "Operation Flashpoint 1.5" was true! Well, this should tide us all over until OFP2! EDIT: Holy heck, that rhymes!

Here's my sorry attempt at combat photography... What can I say? Been reading Tornado Down again, and felt like messing around with Paint Shop Pro  EDIT: D'oh! I managed to cleverly get rid of the green "Leader" circle around the other Tornado, but forgot to rub out the reticule

No jets have really interested me since I got Hudson & Pennywise's F/A-18C's. I don't actually like the Hornet, but the amount of cool features (gear getting damaged beyond operation when you take hits, a realistic ejector seat, the ability to set detonation altitude and therefore spread of cluster bombs, proximity-fused AA missiles) and the overall polish of the pack has kind of killed my interest in other jets. It's a bit depressing when someone pushes the bar up so high and very few people pay attention, let alone attempt to reach that level of quality.

I quite like the mix of eastern gear and western gear personally. If the Nogovans were tooled up with all Russian gear, it'd be just like playing with up-gunned BIS militia.

Well said Hellfish.

If you want to get rid of gun crime, you don't ban guns. You just make ammunition impossible to get hold of  And the self-defence argument... saying that it's okay to use a gun on someone who is attacking you just because they're bigger than you is like saying that it's perfectly alright to carry a knife in case someone harder than you starts beating you up. Anyway. I never liked the M4, it seems overhyped to me, but I suppose a H&K version would rock, if only because H&K are brilliant at what they do.

I agree with the urban and industrial suggestions, the AGS packs, good as they are, clash a bit with the original BIS buildings, as well as the Mapfact ones. Just to finish off, I thought I'd kiss some arse and say that the barracks and the mining buildings are bloody brilliant

If you want to taunt the enemy, scream at your monitor.

Perhaps when you've got a chute on, your weapon and equipment should be bagged up or tied down to you, as real paratroopers do.

NAFP looks like it's going to be a bit of a sleeper hit when it comes out... not only do all the released pictures look pretty, it's a nice original concept too

Yay! I'd read about the AN-2 before, and didn't believe that it could fly at 30mph... until I saw one at Southport Airshow, trundling over the beach at 50ft

"Ner-ner-ne-ner-ner! You smell, Ivan! You couldn't hit me if you- AAAAGH!" I agree totally

What, you mean like the shoe company? Hey, what's that Mexican thing.... eats all the goats? Ah, sweet, sweet Red vs. Blue...

Lovely, lovely lovely! Is it just an object, or does it do stuff? Maybe you could use that old AWACS script (came with the G8 E-8 Hawkeye, if I'm not very much mistaken) so that it picks up enemy aircraft and beams it to friendly AA and aircraft or something flashy like that.

Kneel, aim at your feet, flick the selector to "auto" or the next fastest, and turn in a circle, firing away. With practice, you can do it in one burst. Also, if you're near a dead body, stand right over it and shoot it a few times, you might die the same way from that. Shotguns are also good for suicide, as it only takes one blast at your feet. Hmmm. I obviously spend to much time perfecting dubious tricks in OFP

Idea for a mid air plane explosion

I'm pretty sure that the Falklands Mod are working on this actually. -
Nice, very nice. Made me feel all Sam Fisher.

You don't have to see action for it to be going on mate.
