I would like to see the option to make short dashes, but the payoff would be the fact that you can't sprint with a weapon, full beltkit and bergen for too far. Just far enough and fast enough to bound to cover would be great. On a tangent, perhaps the option to be able to sprint when you're not carrying kit would be useful. A civillian in a shirt and jeans can't run as fast as a soldier with 50lbs of webbing, a kevlar helmet, a rifle, grenades and a Carl Gustav over his shoulder in OFP right now Also, the ability to move around doubled over would be handy. I mean, right now if you need to move along a low wall or under a window, you either run past and get shot at or slowly crawl along. If you could stoop and move, it'd be great, as we'd have an intermediate stance. Plus, on tropical maps, you could hide in the grass and move faster than a crawl

Urgh, if they put the ability to dodge to the side really quickly into OFP2, it'll turn into a strafe-fest like Battlefield 1942. Cue mass exodus of OFP fans as CS players flood servers

It's been said before, but I'll say it again. The book, the original, was pure satire, so therefore was not fascist. It was taking the mickey out of fascism, if anything. The film was a very diluted version of the original. Verhoven did a nice job of missing the point of the book if you ask me. It was watchable crap if you ask me, nothing special. If it'd been truer to the book in terms of its message, it would have been much better. But then again, the average cinema audience doesn't want a thought-provoking take on society. They want an hour and a half of things blowing up and flashy CGI effects. I mean, I watched Lost in Translation at the cinema when it came out, and thought it was the best film of the year. I saw Lord of the Rings on DVD and thought it was utter shite. However, the majority of people rave about the latter and dismiss the former. That's people for you.

It'd be a great addition to co-op games too. Instead of everyone being able to carry the same amount of gear and run exactly the same speed, you could have skinny, short guys acting as scouts as they can run faster, and big moosies carrying the heavy kit

Wow. That really was quite beautiful!

When I upgraded to a 9600SE, I was blown away by it. It's ace!

I have absolutely no idea what that is or what it means, but hats off to you anyway

Brilliant!

Cannae wait cap'n! Like Swift said, this looks the dog's danglers!

Sod's law dictates that they'd only happen when you really could do without them. If you were sat on a hill 400m back with a GPMG, you'd not get a single stoppage, but if you were right on top of someone with your SA80, it'd bugger up. Then again, if you've got the old pig sticker on the end...

I have to say I prefer the original's grouping system, where all the units were in small groups (eight soldiers, four tanks, two artillery vehicles etc. etc.) when on their own, and would get into formation with other vehicles when you grouped them together. In GCII, you can get twelve soldiers in a group, and you can't add a single soldier, let alone an APC or recce vehicle to them! I like the new features though, like concealment bonuses for troops in trees, secondary modes for all vehicles (getting your APC to pop smoke while your troops switch to AT launcher mode, fire a salvo into an enemy vehicle, then pile in the back is great), being able to use buildings, capture emplaced weapons, and the ability to call in dropships and use them to root out enemy forces with their cannons Plus, it's bloody gorgeous. There are action games that don't have soldier models to detailed as GCII. My only major criticism is that it doesn't have the posh English voice actress that was in the original

You can't change the camouflage with an init command. That's what the Desert DPM pack will be for

Aye, it looks great. Makes me wish OFP supports mountaineering and abseiling-type stuff. Commando raids up the "impassable" cliff-face lads?

People do it with all the BAS units, and I for one intend to do it with all the UKF units

My most recent one was the rather Python-esque bayonet charge I led my team in during a VOLCBAT game night not so long ago. We had to secure Blata, so I ordered my lads to fix bayonets, then we fanned out into extended line formation and started jogging towards the village, making half-hearted war cries. All was good, until... two BMD-3s crash out right in front of us and start circling. Cannon rounds start flying, and one of my lads catches one with his head. Someone shouted "RUN AWAY!" and before long, everyone was shouting it into their microphones, running around like headless chickens with 30mm shells landing all around them. Everyone was killed, except for Manitou, who found the corpse of our AT guy. "I'm alive! I'm the last one alive!" he chirped, while picking up the launcher. He swung the tube onto his shoulder, loaded it, then said "I can't believe I'm the last one al-" before getting shot in the back of the head by one of the BMDs

JIP is fine for "common" MP gametypes such as deathmatch, capture the flag etc., but I know people who only ever play co-ops, as DM and CTF just aren't all that fun in OFP.

I'd download this as soon as it was uploaded!

I wouldn't buy it. Then again, I only play organised MP squad games. BTW Baron, it's nice to see someone who knows Lone Wolf and Cub here

Don't know if anyone's posted about this, but the silenced USP with tac-lite doesn't have the silencer on the model, it's just the same as the unsilenced USP w/TL.

Explaining all the CTD's is going to be difficult though. "I made a dash for cover as the grenade landed just behind me, and then all of a sudden, everything went black, then I was in this strange place where everything is 2D, with a giant grey box the size of the sky with 'FATAL EXCEPTION' in mile-high writing across it..."

I'm just looking forwards to being old and senile and telling my grandkids my OFP stories as if they really happened
