    Blackblood's desert grunts

Awesome. Can't wait to get my mitts on them, because that means VOLCBAT will be off to the sandpit in the time it takes to make a mission on Desert Everon

    Nogovan Armed Forces Project

The Sterling was basically a modernised (at the time) Sten. They stopped using them when the SA80 was introduced. But they's still ace. I think some countries still use them, unsure.

    Nogovan Armed Forces Project

Considered the Sterling SMG as a crew weapon? 9mm, folding stock very distinctive, effective enough, and probably quite cheap as they've been churned out for donkey's years. Simple construction, and doesn't look like a plumber's tool either Sterling L2A3 9mm Sterling L2A4 9mm Still, I like folding stock FALs just as much

Fair enough, still going to download everything as soon as it's released

    Nogovan Armed Forces Project

Just out of curiousity, if the small arms fire NATO rounds, what about the vehicle armaments? Personally, I think it'd be quite cool if the Nogovans had modified Russian gear; T55s with 105mm main guns and FN MAGs mounted on the cupola and stuff. Then again, I've no idea how much work changing the model and config files would be, so ignore me if you want

    Joint ammo and magazines (jam)

I love JAM. Always have done, always will. My only gripe is the 5.56mm machine gun sound, it sounds a bit too "clonky" (if that's a word), but I can live with that.

    Chieftain?

That's a Challenger. The picture above's a Chieftain. The difference? They're different tanks I've wanted a Chieftain in OFP since the days of Ultimate Upgrade 1.10 or whatever they used to call patches. Aside from the dodgy engine it had, it was one of the best tanks in the world during the Cold War, and is one of the few tanks that was around in the 1970s that could still stand a chance against a modern tank. Plus, my dad was a qualified Chieftain driver/mechanic and gunner

    Military Objects Pack

I had a lot of fun last night improving a compound I made with the barracks pack. Added a repair area for the vehicles, mesh gates, vehicle barriers, and a nice bunker just in case someone "accidentally" LGBs it

    British Marines at their best?

I'll have to dig out that one of US paratroopers thumping into trees and trucks
  10. Outstanding guys... simply outstanding. Leusderheide in particular feels very "real" when you're trogging around with a rifle, and it's the perfect place to use tanks. For the first time in ages, I had enough room to get my troop of Leopards shifting formation and engaging enemy targets without having to dodge towns and mountains. Seriously, these are the best islands I've seen in OFP for a long time. Well done lads, bloody well done

    Summer Highlights

I got quite drunk, mooched about a bit, then went to someone's funeral. It's fun fun fun over here.

    Lt HuNTeR Addons

I've been looking for older guns for a while. I have no interest in the XM8, the MP7 PDW, the UMP, M4s with too many attachments, the SR25 or anything like that. Stuff like the G3, the HK33, the SR9 and older MP5s make for excellent resistance-side weapons, and nine times out of ten I play against resistance troops because they don't have any ties to a certain time period. Using modern western units (of which there are a lot, especially US stuff) against Soviet-era troops just doesn't work for me. Besides, old guns usually look a lot better than newer ones. There's no way you can say that all these newer guns (XM8, MP7, G36, obligatory over-modded M4, SA80) look as good and as rugged the G3, the FAL, the HK33 and the FNC

    Movie Script Writer Maker

I always got along with setting the tabs in Word, but I'm just too tight-fisted to buy Final Draft

    Zombie problems!

Try thinning out your addons folder, or using mod folders instead. I used to have terrible problems with OFP until I deleted or re-organised a load of files.

    UK Bing drinking

I don't drink often, but when I do, I usually get quite drunk. However, as soon as I'm nicely toasted, I start drinking soft drinks or water instead. I think the problem is people who get drunk, then carry on drinking and drinking.

UK. Lancashire, England to be more precise.

    The forgotten D-day

You can say "Everyone from [insert country] hates [insert country]" all you want, but it's not true. It's impossible to say that you hate a country until you've met every person there and decided that you dislike them all. There are good and bad people everywhere. And on topic, this is the first time I heard of these landings. It's sort of how the Italian campaign is overshadowed by North Africa and the Western and Eastern Fronts.

    Infantry Damage Model

Here here. It'd be an excellent addition to MP too, as having to rush back to drag a wounded man out of harm's way would be pretty exciting, if that's the right word for it. I'd like to see trauma modelled as well personally. Having to get a medic down there to stabilise someone as well as plug any holes would greatly improve the role of medic. Right now you just wave the magic sponge over vehicle crash injuries, burns, gunshot wounds, shrapnel wounds, massive bloodloss (if you're using ECP) and the wounded guys just leap up and are fighting fit again. If you had to get down there, stop any bleeding, check for internal injuries and shock before stabilising the casualty and then either patching him up or having him casevac'd out of the area (a folding stretcher could be handy), then the role would be much more interesting and involved.

    Ai thread

What I'd really like to see is morale and reaction to fire. If you're fighting a civillian militia and you let rip at them in an ambush, they'd quite likely be taken entirely by surprise and would either run off or panic. If you're fighting against a patrol of elite enemy infantry and ambush them they'd react quickly and effectively, taking cover, laying down fire, using grenades, and generally either trying to counterattack or retreat tactically. Also, it'd be good if friendly units had an effect on unit morale. If they've got tanks and air support, enemy troops should be a little more on the brave side, and if their tanks have been knocked out before they even got to the battle, they'd be a bit wary and none too happy about it. Right now, I've seen Russian Naval Infantrymen with tonnes of ammunition and weapons, as well as three T-80Us, six BMP3s and two Hind gunships supporting them turning tail and running because I fired some 203 bombs at them and injured a couple of them

The United States new attack jet!!

The last thing you need when you're diving down from 10,000ft at Mach 3.5 with six enemy interceptors on your tail is your HUD to make an irritating sound and for all the displays to go blue.

    The best war movie ever

A Bridge Too Far and An Ungentlemanly Act. The former was the last great WWII war film if you ask me, and the latter is a very British film about the Royal Marines defending the governer of the Falklands against the Argentine commandos during the invasion of the islands. Bloody good film.

New release date worldwide: Spring 2006?

2006 isn't too long. When the 2004 release date came out, I was thinking "Bloody hell, that's ages away! The community will have fizzled out by then!" And here we all are. That's the great thing about niche communities, they may be smaller, but they have a lot more hardcore members.

    Ubisoft to Buy Codemasters...........

Microsoft would be a good bet. As Madus Maximus said, they can invest in whatever they want, and as a result the developers get the funding to really a put a shine on the games. Activision aren't too bad, but they're sort of like mini-EA if you ask me. EA has FIFA and the other sports games, Activision has Tony Hawk and the extreme sports licenses.

    Ubisoft to Buy Codemasters...........

I really hope Microsoft jump in. I used to hate MS's approach to games publishing, but they've really got to grips with it over the last few years. I've only bought two Ubisoft games in the past few years and I won't be buying anymore. Raven Shield's SDK was sunk in the water (the main reason I bought it was because I was looking forward to seeing the Rogue Spear mod community working with a good engine) so all you get now is new maps, which aren't as good as the originals. I bought Lock-On, and it wouldn't work acceptably at anything aside from minimum settings, and then it would crash or hard reboot my system if I wasn't sat in my seat properly. The patch broke the training missions for me, so I was unable to learn how to actually play the game, so I returned it to the shop and got Knights of the Old Republic instead. I'm going to miss Codemasters. Micro Machines on the Sega Mega Drive was the first game I bought. But sadly, they're going the way of Microprose and Psygnosis The only solution I can see is if we all dig in our pockets and buy BIS
