Idea-animated doors on vehicles, pilot loadout

Bullets would whip right through doors. At least, they do in real life. Other than that, those are good ideas. [Edit: Oh wait, windows that go up and down are pointless and would take too much time to program for the little value they would add to the game.]

Even if we are not talking about realism, you cannot hit anything with the cannon. As for the arcade aspect, don't you think that Operation Flashpoint should have a realistic flight model, considering that none of the other parts of the game are arcade? Operation Flashpoint is currently the most realistic game in existence. Keep it that way, please.

    Ofp is finally getting somewhere

Literally no information exists on Idependence Lost other than the fact that it is made by Bohemia Interactive Studios. The official web page has nothing but a few pictures.
  5. And there is a good reason why. Â Have you ever seen a program that recognizes text, figures out the phonics, and turns it into voice? Â The most advanced ones sound very stupid and very fake. Â Weather radio broadcasters, I think, use them. Â My old Amiga had a built-in one. Â Trust me, it sounds nothing like a human voice. Â It sounds very much like a robot from an old, cheesy science fiction movie. [Edit: Spelling]

Why don't the ai attack helis'?...

Add "make all helicopters have breakable glass" to Professor Wizard's list. Since the Hind and others have bullet-"proof" glass, perhaps they should only be penetrable by heavier calibers, such as three-oh-eight and fifty caliber.

That way the ground would have a way to reach out and strike the aircraft. Handhelds wouldn't do it and I think they are reflected well in the sim.<span id='postcolor'> I agree. Sniper, that is true. However, in other realistic aerial combat games, the radar isn't that much less effective. Real life radars are pretty effective. The only thing that's really wrong is that Operation Flashpoint's radar can detect things it shouldn't be able to, like Jeeps and trucks. Me, I use my eyes, for the most part.

    A-10 gatling gun: underpowered

Thank you, Eviscerator. The page Murder linked me to (which is the one everyone links me to) said nothing about an A-10 by Aaron Ash.

    Coop - team vs team

While I have not yet tried it and do not think that Operation Flashpoint was meant for this, I commend you on your work. That last feature especially is interesting. Now if only I had a monitor for my gaming computer...

This is a silly question - i know!

It may be more helpful to look at the key binds in the options if you ever forget a key again. It took me a while to find the chat keys, too.

    Stupid crew!

The solution to that is to not fly over five meters above the ground. Real chopper pilots fly that low to avoid anti aircraft fire. It's hard, but that's what makes Operation Flashpoint fun, right?

    I am new

Actually, this is the first flight game I have ever played in which I do not need the rudder pedals. The fixed wing aircraft have no rudder control, and the helicopters are easily flown without joystick altogether. It's best to have a stick, but as far as I know there is no difference with the helicopters in Operation Flashpoint between using the rudder pedals and shoving the stick to the side. In real life, using the pedals on a helicopter should make it turn around without without changing the currect velocity (in other words, without changing the speed or the direction the helicopter is traveling in), so it would be flying backwards or to the side. However, in Operation Flashpoint, using the pedals just causes it to make a bank. Does that make sense?

[Edit: I removed a jab at his grammar and punctuation.  As I wrote it, I did not think of the fact that English is not the primary language of many of the people who attend this forum.  If English is not Hindhunter's primary language, then I apologize.  If it is his primary language, then I say he is a stupid git.]

    Game balance air vs ground

Your pathetic opinion has been noted. Try fighting an aircraft from the ground in real life. I'll see you from the air.
  15. Plebian? Â I think not. Â You see, while you are correct in that there is too much deathmatch and capture the flag, there are a few maps (and a lot of possibilities) for strategic warfare between humans alone. There was an excellent one I saw, complete with campaign-like objectives and a necessity for many players, but that was the problem. Â There just aren't enough players for that sort of thing. Â Plus, all of the tanks and such made my frame rate die and go to hell. Â There were a lot of units. Â I'm talking about possibly several hundred of them. Then there are the strategy maps which follow the tradition started for us by Battlezone. Â I played one or two of those maps where you have to conquer and hold territories in order to raise money to build an army. Â Once more, this is not yet practical due to lack of interest and number of players, among other reasons, but it still beats what you call cooperation, which is the same sort of thing only against the computer. [Edit: By the way, don't ever again imply that I am a Counterstrike player or an ex-Quaker. I enjoy Operation Flashpoint for its realism, and I look for the same realism in my online gaming.]

    Ofp racing

What, is this Grand Theft Auto? There is no reason to make the cars stronger. The damage for cars in Operation Flashpoint is very realistic. In most racing games, you can slam a car into a wall at ninety miles an hour and not only survive, but keep driving. Is this what you want? I've always thought that Operation Flashpoint strives for realism. You are taking a step backwards.

    Kill zone

This is a Resistance question, isn't it? In Operation Flashpoint, once someone falls down, they stay down. Unless, that is, they merely went to prone position and then got up. But then you should have been able to see that they were still alive while in prone position. Do people get blown down while still alive in Resistance?
  20. That's not quite as bad as my post count on another forum (TTLG). It was a much more alive forum, though. I switched nicks several times, so I'm not quite sure of my total post count, but I had a little under four thousand posts. I was a bit of a threadhog, to be honest. At least I didn't spam, though. Towards the end, the forum started to die down, and my post rate dropped to about six posts per day.

    Coop - team vs team

That's a whole lot of shit, surely. *Snicker* I wouldn't download it for my own reasons. I don't think Flashpoint was meant to be this sort of game. Still, other people may not think so.

You only have to pay for the full version, which contains more features than the free one. I use the free one, of course.

But then, I suppose it's necessary to prevent people from changing their posts' meanings.]
