  1. A human eye "refreshes" at about 72Hz, so its good to have at least that or you´re gonna have a nice headache. The human eye "refresh-rate" is higher at the edges of the field of view, so if looking a bit off the monitor screen (ie. if looking at the keyboard while typing) the picture might appear blinking annoyingly if the refresh rate is not high enough.

Though it also depends on the monitor, with my 19" even 75Hz blinks way too much and gives me a nice headache, but even 60Hz is fine on my 14" VGA monitor. Propably the bestchoice is to use as high frequency as your monitor can do, but also remember that the more frequency you have the more it strains the monitor and decreases its age. Also, if you use very high resolutions and have a not-so-good video card the picture might get blurred on higher frequencies.

I think the thing on the front of the Mi17 is a speed measuring device or something like that...

I would call the amount of heat that thing produces a problem tounge.gif

Those dont exist in ofp as vehicles (as in things placeable in the mission, you can only use those by editing the island or using an addon)

  5. Its all about having a good leader and a squad that obeys the leaders orders. That way pretty much everyone knows where everyone else from his/her team is, so incidents like that wont happen... If some noob doesnt obey the leaders orders then he deserves to be shot wink.gif

This would be a bitch to debug too. Depends on how many soldiers there are.

If it's a total of 8, the keg method is recommended (much smaller workload).

    If it's 24, I'd not recommend it.

Plus, if you're often adding/removing soldiers, his method will also be a real bitch.

But in theory both work and it's your choice which you'll use.<span id='postcolor'>

Its rather easy & fast actually to just copy 24 copies of the trigger and then use a text editor to edit the unitnames from the mission.sqm smile.gif

  7. Indeed, radeons are ok card but the drivers arent the best out there. Radeon windows drivers are getting rather usable (still seem to have bugs though), but they still do not seem to offer official support for any other OS's (linux/unix,qnx,etc.), where you have to use unofficial drivers that with my experience dont work too well.

Well, all you can do is get a better computer. Sure BIS could change the AI but do you really want to fight againist enemies who do nothing else than run right at you shooting all over the place? smile.gif

  9. Or you can just do triggers for all the soldiers with "not alive unitname" in the condition, and "removeallweapons unitname;unitname addmagazine "steyrmag";unitname addweapon "steyr";" and set the countdown time to the respawn time. Where you of course replace all "unitname"´s with actual names of the units. Also set it to repeating so it will work more than once.

Logging like that really wouldnt slow down any kind of server... maybe if you run a 486 or something but I dont think ofp server would run very well on that anyhow... And you could of course turn it off.

  11. If players in GS/ASE arent playing coop it doesnt mean people dont like it (or play it). The fact just is, that to play, and really enjoy coop play, you are going to need some reasonable people to play with you who dont just run to the battlefield shooting around. Thats why most coop games are propably played on password protected servers, or on LAN games.

For example I play alot of coop online, and enoy it, but on a non-public server with people I have played with for a good while now and its very much fun.

  12. I dont like DV because it makes the colors all wrong... If I could apply it just to OFP I might use it, but using it all the time doesnt suit me, especially because I do graphics (web design, sometimes cd covers, posters, etc.) I really dont like the idea that I get different color on my monitor than in the print/someone elses monitor.

In OFP, you can get same kind of brighter colours by setting the brigthness setting from the video options to full (1.8) and lower the gamma so it looks nice.

But both of these things of course take off the pale look of OFP, which is there intentionally to create the war like feeling.

  14. nah, same thing as with the F15, or any other jet, it would be no good for anything else than being a target when its not airborne. The speed of that thing would make it just useless, it wouldnt take many seconds to fly over the whole island, and as the default view range is so short in ofp you couldnt do anything with it as you cant see far enough.

Imho the A10 is a very nice plane in OFP, the mavericks are very powerful, they take out an T80 with one hit every time, plus its hard to shoot down and it manouvers rather well. just learn to fly it wink.gif
