LOL, that's COLD MAN!! Actually, I've thought of it many a time when my AI get stranded somewhere, but I'd rather not implement something like that. AI can be rare commodities in RTS, so use em wisely.

Do a search on it. Doolittle is the master of vehicle respawn now. He's obsessed with it and I'm convinced he'll soon come up with a way to respawn players in Real Life .

I had it that way when I was first making it, but I prefer it to be the way it is. I like to disturb the perfect lines sometimes just to break up the monotony. -

I love the industrie packs, however I would think that integrating them into the island's pbo would be much preferred. I just hate junking up my addons folder with so many addons especially when they aren't tagged with the island name. Is there a way to integrate these into the pbo? -
The torpedo calculations seem to work fairly well, although I haven't incorporated the Z axis into it. The AI seems to get the chopper fairly close to where I want it to go, so what I'm doing now is letting the AI get it close and then I nudge it with a setvelocity and that seems to put it where I want it. Thanks!

Trig used to be my strong point, but when it comes to scripting I have a hard time visualizing the code. I'm trying to take a chopper that is flying, and when it gets within a certain range of an invisible helo pad, land precisely on it. I'm using SetVelocity right now, and I can make it land pretty well, but not perfectly on buildings, which is what I want. It's a littlebird BTW. What I'll need to do is guide it in whichever direction it needs to be in to land right on the spot. I know how to use Setvelocity and trigonometry to make the helo go faster/slower in the direction that it is already traveling in, just not how to calculate whether to go left or right to get right on a target. Got any ideas?

SFG, one request for the Addons, could you please separate them into separate I44 categories for mission editors? i.e. I44-Men I44-Vehicles Or something like that. Â Just two categories would be grand. Â It's kind of confusing picking it all out from the mass of other stuff that's already in the standard Armored and Men etc. categories. Thanks!

RTS-3 Beta5E is now available for download. The download link is in the first post of this thread. New: RTS-3 Beta5e Lahta Island RTS-3 Beta5e Sarugao Island RTS-3 Vietnam Beta5e Sarugao Island So now RTS-3 Beta5E is on Everon, Malden, Ackropolis, Bears Lahta, Sarugao (modern and Nam version) and Ia Drang Valley (Nam only). I made a few tweaks to the costs of jets and such to the modern versions, and fixed a couple of minor bugs. Otherwise everything is mostly the same as Beta5D.

mmmmm, makes me think of wholesome, delicious blubber. Operation Blubber: Attack of the Seals (and other marine creatures) Well hopefully the thing will still use an alternate timeline as in Opflash. Some unknown fictional conflict during Nam with Guba and Angelina would be interesting. Maybe the game could be played as a flashback, and then go to current times where you're hunting for Guba's twin brother's aunt's nephew's grandmother's 2nd cousin's best friend's uncle who lives in Sosnovy Bor and has a drinking problem.

It will be about a time traveling Chrono-Marine who goes back in time and fights side-by-side with other Marines in several well known time periods in order to prevent the evil clone of Guba from going back in time and destroying the timeline, thus destroying the U.S. The main soundtrack song will be "If I could turn back time" by Cher and the voice acting for the main character will be Michael J. Fox (from Back to the Future).

My main gripe with the current NAM addon is the concrete trees that tanks can't run over (because they're in a forest unit). That's what I don't want to see if it is indeed a NAM based game. I really hope the physics for the environmental interaction is greatly improved.

I am just NOT looking forward to OFP2 being NAM. We play the Nam pack to death on my server and we're all getting a bit tired of it. I do hope that tunnels, caves, etc. all become a part of the new 3D engine, and I hope they can massively improve that part of it. The ability to do a true 3D landscape would be awesome. Also changing the way that buildings and such are would be a huge deal. Currently they are nice looking ornaments, but the clipping and stuff on them is horrible. That's because they're basically a model and not part of the 3D engine. Personally I think that Blackhawk Down is a perfect example of what the buildings should be like (except they should be destructable). Anyway, I'll probably get it, but I'm going to be really disappointed if it is NAM unless it is the most realistic thing to come along since real life!

Yeah, I hope it's not going to be nam based. I was hoping for something more current. We've been playing a ton of SEB Nam Pack stuff, and now I'm starting to tire of the NAM-era war machine.
