    This sounds pretty freakin' neato. Just to be clear though, this is not insurgency as we know it from ArmA 2 right? As in kill enemies, acquire intel, and blow up objectives?

    Yeah exactly. Too bad there's no "dynamic" capability in A3 implemented by BIS. Everything is now heavily scripted and coded. Gone are the days of SecOps with Ambient Combat modules working together to create great dynamic side objectives anywhere anytime and rewarding you with support. So much fun.

    What happened to the Armory feature where we can try out any weapon, equipment, or vehicle with assigned missions created on-the-fly? I miss this a lot, and really wonder why it's gone. It was great fun to just load into the world with anything you wanted, then play out random scenarios. I can't shake the feeling ArmA 3 has less features than previous games. :(

    But the editor takes all the fun out of it! If I know how many and what type of units will be in the mission it takes the surprise out of the missions. Where'd the dynamic editor modules go from Operation Arrowhead?

  10. Sounds great. After playing DUWS pretty much all night I say with absolute certainty SaOk's missions are the best out there for SP ArmA 3 hands down. While I was playing DUWS - which is a fine mission - I was constantly thinking about how much more polished, structured, dynamic, and most importantly fun SaOk's missions are. Time to get a little sleep and wake up to a 'Whole Lotta Altis'! Great work I really appreciate everything you are doing. If you want any help with anything please let me know. With just a little more refinement this mission will be just about perfect.
  11. Is there any way to see how much CP you have without "talking to" the officer?
  12. Now that there is a support system in the beta (from the showcase) could we get ambient combat and SecOps modules available in the editor, like in Operation Arrowhead? I love creating a very simple mission with Ambient Combat and SecOps running to keep things 'dynamic' and interesting. If I remember correctly SecOps in Operation Arrowhead rewarded completing objectives with supports like mortars, UAVs, or CAS. If we had these modules it would really add tons of playtime to the beta for me. I am leaving for basic training and tech school next month, so unfortunately I will not be able to play the retail game until April 2014. I have to get as much use out of the beta as I can to hold me over. ;)
  13. Boy the next version sure sounds sweet! So why are artillery units disappearing? The refund system sounds nice, but I would prefer to have them not disappear at all.
  14. I cannot seem to capture a zone from the enemy. That damn APC keeps ripping me up. What am I doing wrong?

    Controller Not Remapping

    It is wired by USB. The controls are all messed up by default. When flying a helicopter R2 shoots guns while simultaneously giving right pedal input. It's completely messed up default. Need to be able to rebind controls.

    Controller Not Remapping

    Hello, I am having some difficulty binding actions to my controller. I have Xbox button labels on certain menu items and the controller is listed in the controller menu. Even still, nothing happens when I press a button on the controller in the controls menu. The customize button is grayed out in the controller menu. This old thread seemed relevant but is now locked due to people going off topic. Stay on topic here. Note game build is 110841. I plan on using the controller only for vehicles, not infantry.
  17. Sorry for the barrage of questions recently from me. Just started really getting into this after I got back from basic training (and it helps A3 was actually released when I got back). Anyway, is it normal for purchased artillery support to disappear? I bought an M5 Sandstorm MLRS for 600 points, used four shots on an enemy camp, then next time I wanted to use it the artillery was gone from both the support menu and high command. Also, is it possible to get mortars in this mission?

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

    For the love of all that is holy, please create a mod that changes the fake vehicle/weapon names to real ones. It is quite difficult for me to remember these fake vehicles names. For example Slammer instead of Merkava and Blackfoot instead of Comanche. I do appreciate that the fake names are related to the real names like Blackfoot Native Americans rather than Comanche Native Americans. (I am part Blackfoot) Still, it is hard to remember what is what with these strange fictional names.
  20. Is there any way to prevent the equipment crates from parachuting into the sea? Unless theres a crate with SCUBA gear they become useless. Stormy weather seems to be the biggest cause. Though I must say it adds to the sense of realism.

  22. Do the free ammo/weapon crates restock or is it a one time bonus?
  23. Oh okay that's too bad. I thought since there was a primary objective to build a camp it would be useful. It doesn't give you an ammo cache or anything?
  24. When should I start building a base? Where should I build a base? Also I just landed in the SP version at the international airport. There was a T-100 waiting for us.
