    Hey there, this was a great addon. Any chance of getting this ported to ARMA 2. The problem with the Reaper in A2 is its just to fast. This game needs the slower MQ-1 BAdly

    Ah yes, Did you realize that cameras on UAV's are peering down to the ground from 2 to 3 miles up?     Right, So that means that the spoof (probably the most important part) is not from BIS correct? I just wonder what parameters BIS will incorperate stock.

    So, now that Mykes F-16 has shown what the flares will look like. Its not the exact script that BIS is planning to use. He said that he used some of the F-18 scripts for missel spoofing. I wonder when, or if, BIS will actually release their own version of counter measures or just provide a PBO that the community can use to implement their own? I hope that BIS releases something as to make it STANDARD among all players.
  6. Has anyone checked to see if Aircraft countermeasures have been implemented? I know it wasnt in teh change log but Im just hoping. Cant wait to DL it when I get off work.
  7. I honestly don't think we are playing the same game. Nothing new? did you perhaps crack open the editor and take a look? PLENTY of new stuff. And the land scape.. its a real place, I mean its real world sat data. cant get much more realistic. maybe keep your eye on COD MW2, that sounds like its more up your alley.

    This is why I was also hoping for a more realistic depiction of how Hellfires are employed. Namely the AGM 114P. this is a Laser guided weapon. It needs a laser spot and someone to continuously lase for a missle to track. ACE had this dead on with its High, Low, and DIR, firing modes, I was bummed to see CM not take advantage of that. In its current mysitcly radar lock config. You are a super man in the Cobra or Hind. I would rank this feature right behind the need for aircraft counter measures. But you gotta pick your fight. Besides ACE did it so well, I will just wait for their release.

    I think alot of you are missing the point. The flare should not be a 100% defeat to the incoming missle. Nor should you get a tone from a manpad or optically guided AA missle. Flares should be used Pre-emptively against the possiblity of man pads. So you have a limited number of them say 50-60 (if they are dumped out like in RL) you dump your chaff and flare as you roll in for an attack run, go in to drop off troops, or do an exfill. I do not want 100% spoof, I just a fighting chance at survival.

    Unbalanced?? Are you insane? Unbalanced is After using all those hills to mask yourself, roll in on an attack run and basically pull down your pants and wait for the missle that will kill you. Its about being fair. If you put in AA you need to put in its defense. Effective 100% of the time, no. But something, because right now its 99% death anytime you get in a chopper.

  12. You know the Stamina system in the ACE mod, I think was a real leep forward, however it may have IMHO leaped right off the cliff. I found myself playign the ACE mod less and less as an infantry troop simply because I couldnt run a100 ft with out passing out if I had any kind of AT weapon. Now I have had the pleasure (or misfortune) to have to lug around a heavy weapon in RL a few times. And I never came close to passing out. The thing I couldnt do was keep up. Is it possible to, on top of making aim worse after running, make the player run slower based on weight? This I think would be more realistic and a bit less frustrating to play ACE.

  14. Figured this would be a better place to ask. Im just wondering if anyone has actually figured out if the aircraft have counter measures or not. I read a review that had a bullet statement that they did, but I cannot find that review and cannot figure out any way to get stock Arma2 to produce countermeasures for aircraft. Spooner can you take a look at this possibly?

    You know this looks pretty good mate. As a Sensor Operator myself, I can tell you the model is nearly perfect. I hope the MTS ball camera view looks good as well, again great work.

    Cant move while reloading

    I agree, the anim system, while cool looking in a staged environment, does not work in a combat in game environment, I believe thats why alot of other FPS's went to a ragdoll system (on e of the many reasons anyway). I have had to jog and reload an m4, it was cumbersome and I'd have to slow down to do it, but its possible. Anything is possible when Bullets are cracking! But really the anims in ArmA, look cool in movies and cut scenes but the engine is lacking in this dept. IMHO this is what gives ArmA that "not so fresh feeling" and more of a POST GEN shooter. Like say Joint Operations TR. Further more I don't think the Engine is going to be moddable to a Ragdoll system so its almost a moot point. sad but true.
