  1. Hey Blackdog1

    Since the last update ive been having this issue aswell, what i did too make the chemstick show was to have two in my inventry and drop all my gear so i only had the chemsticks and then it would show up, i know its a bit of shit to drop your wep but it works none of the less

    Just seen this. Yes I experienced the same issue after I'd picked up 3 chemsticks and put 2 in my backpack. The remaining chemstick in my inventory would not select with 'F'. What I did to be able to use it again was drop it and then pick it up again then I could select it with 'F'.

  2. I've changed the shortcut to C:\gameservers\myname\ArmA2Server.exe -port=2303 -name=default -config=defaultserver.cfg -cfg=defaultArma2.cfg -profiles=default -mod=@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX

    You need to place your "defaultArma2.cfg" & "defaultserver.cfg" files into "ArmA2\default" folder as this folder is now defined as the folder where your cfg & profile files reside with those parameters.

  3. Yes, thank you Sickboy and the ACE team it's a fantastic mod!. KH will continue to support you and your team as much as we can. Our YAS server has distributed 1.3 TB's of data to the community so far!. Keep up the good work :)

    Hey ACE Team, one question: if I have a more recent version than the server I'm trying to play on, will it say something like "these files are not using a key accepted by the server"?

    The server that you are connecting to has signature checking enabled and does not have the ACE beta keys installed therefore it is blocking clients connecting with the ACE beta mod.

  4. when i use ace2 mod, i have no soldiervoices.

    anyone else got that problem with ace?

    ARMA2ROOTDIR/userconfig/ACE/ace_clientside_config.hpp

    /*//////////////////////////////////////////////

    CONFIG SETTING FOR : ACE 2 MOD - NO VOICE, NO RADIO CHATTER

    --------------------

    FEATURES: Disables AI radio chatter as well as player radio chatter

    ---------

    TO ENABLE: Remove the "//" in front of the #define to enable the NO VOICE, NO RADIO CHATTER feature. To disable, think vice versa.

    ----------

    //////////////////////////////////////////////*/

    // #define ACE_NOVOICE

  5. Apart from that this can be fully automated, scheduled, with the use of my console apps,

    or even with the web-client on public interface; access from your home PC with webrowser, with username/password, giving you remote: kill of arma server, "install or update, and start game" action (and all the others too:P), redirect logoutput to ajax log feed in browser, fetch logs, rpt, etc. etc.

    All features that are already available to you today :)

    I already deploy it for my own arma servers, and for customers :)

    Still I can certainly see your point, and as mentioned we will be looking into things soon :)

    Yes, yes I don't need a lesson on all that I've been administering server's for 15 years. All I am asking for is for some kind of advance warning of updates or at least a daily release time so someone qualified in KH can grab the new server files and update the server etc etc.

    Respect.

  6. I imagine since the distribution protocol is rsync that the ACE team could publish a master copy and the other distribution servers could just run automated rsync pulls or pushes to update their copy for the clients... Very little leg work for any of the rsync server managers.

    Our server actually has OpenSSH and Rsync services running and offered up to the six-updater mirror list that's not the issue it's as Crawler says,

    "the problem with updating daily is -> not all servers managed 24/7 as updating requires a procedure of stopping the server and running the updater."

    At least with the ArmA2 beta's they are backwards compatible to 1.04

  7. Sickboy, The issue is not whether to use six-updater (I support it although there are issues in windows 7) it's the fact that if there are many updates per day as is perhaps the intention with six-updater then server admins just cannot keep up...

    Perhaps you could post whether an update is a milestone and we could just update servers to the milestones thus cutting down on said leg work.

  8. jman i think the @ACE one is outdated

    changelog:

    h2. 2009-12-07 14:08:21 +0100

    there was a update around 6pm

    and it said 183

    just let you know

    I'm aware. Please read my post

    We will only be updating our server and YAS when our server is not full (or at least has more than 5-10 players) AND there is an qualified KH admin around to do it. It is impractical and very time consuming (unless someone wants to pay me to sit here 24/7 monitoring for updates)

  9. Sickboy, I fully understand the reason for the six update process but we cannot keep up with the update process as it stands now. We don't know when these updates will happen and as so any servers running will not accept players with an updated client.

    This evening is a case in point. The first update we heard about, we updated our server then our YAS, as process that takes quiet a lot of time (and we have been working with yoma to speed up the process a little)... then a second update appeared as soon as we'd addressed that one. Thus we have a situation where only client's who have sync'd to our YAS can now connect to our server. This issue is going to affect all server admins.

    Whilst it is not my place to question the necessity of updates so close together, I wonder if you might consider only releasing one update a day at a designated time? I know this may not be practical for you but I see the community multiplayer ACE beta testing becoming impossible to keep in step with.

  10. Server has crashed about 5 times while playing now. We have been testing the ACE maps that came with ACE.

    Free: Memory block corrupt.

    Free: Memory block corrupt.

    ^ in your rpt file just before the crash. I've seen that before in other instances (not ArmA).

    Ref:

    Memory corruption can occur when allocated (and in use) memory is overwritten accidentally. Buffer overruns -- caused by writing past the end of a block of allocated memory -- frequently corrupt memory.

    Run a memory test, It could be a bad memory chip.
