    Yup, that 'bug' definately needs to be fixed, completely ruins the game, maybe set up some sort of no roadblock trigger inside of the hospital (and hospital arch).

    Yup agreed Mr G C, i just used 'gangs' cause the name isnt decided yet i dont think lol. I hope there is still a 'normal life' which is why im glad to see most of the gang war stuff will be confined to S Sahrani. Im also hoping that its still necessary to have a 'normal life' before you can really get the 'gang' thing going... e.g. u can join a gang, but to start taking territories and conducting large operations you should need a LOT of money, so it becomes a feature which is used in longer term games and people dont instantly rush from initial spawn to take over S Sahrani..

    Thats a great idea! I was hoping that the map would soon make use of South Sahrani! Hopefully it will give something for people to do when they get a LOT of cash, because ive seen so many games where players just have too much money and it turns into a TDM cause they have nothing to spend their money on apart from guns to kill cops. So i hope you'll make the gang things something for 'later' in the game so therefore more expensive etc And yeah, i hope you have some gang functions on north sahrani, so the cops can 'interact' with the gangs more. Maybe leave south Sahrani purely for gang wars to capture the towns/areas and then for gang objectives have them based across north sahrani where cops can prevent gangs from completing 'missions'. Maybe you could have random gang assassinations, spawn a character somewhere and then give the objective to a gang when they go to their 'gang hideout' or whatever. Then they have to try and assassinate that character, and the cops maybe get a warning of this and have to try and protect that person? Just a random idea lol, some sort of missions would be cool though i think. And there would have to be some sort of decent reward/need for the gangs/guilds whatever to need to enter North sahrani, so they have to evade the cops when they enter N Sahrani, and then the cops have something to do against the gangs also Im not sure if that even made sense haha! But hopefully someone can understand what im getting at Keep it up Issetea + Fewo!

    I agree that civilians are too easy to find.. but if you slow down the marker refresh to something like Sahraniville, its very hard to ID which civilian is who without walking right up to them, think of all the innocent deaths when a cop shoots people up at a bank which has just been robbed? A solution would be somehow make it easier so that Cops can identify players in a VISIBLE difference, and when the bank is robbed make sure the marker refreshes as it is robbed, so that the cops can discover which civvie it was and then people able to ID that civilian visually.. Some sort of long distance ID script or if you are going to add addons to the map, then maybe each civilian should have their number written in large font on their front + back or something? By the way, Mr G C told me about the new version coming out soon Sounds REALLY good! Fixes i remember included: Gangs + sector control, 'Holster' rifles, 'notepad' in another future patch, moved bank.. Hope u make an official announcement soon =)

Mybe even in 1.1 Â *lookingtoisseteaandfewa* Â Regards, Christian Yeah i suggested that for Sahraniville, it should allow cops to set the rules/laws on map start, and be able to modify as the situation changes in the game. Then when someone connects, show the dialog with the laws written so everyone has no excuse. When a change is made, a hint pops up telling everyone, then they can review it by a radio command maybe? By the way Issetea + Fewo, i think my suggestion for territory control may be a bit radical, i think it may turn it into a sort of CTI gametype :S so please, make your own judgements on it and dont just take our words for it, you made the map great so far, dont lose its class, but anything you can add would be great so long as it doesnt completely change the gameplay

    Agreed, there definately needs to be a lot of limits on gangs/groups, because we dont want it turning into a TDM between cops vs gang vs gang vs gang or whatever. You gotta make your living first before you can make a group etc. And we also gotta make sure that it doesnt just turn into a fight for territories, the cops still gotta uphold the law and protect the bank etc stuff like that. I dunno, brainstorm some other ideas guys =)

    Gangs would be a great improvement! I wouldnt suggest AI though.. i reckon if we had 32 slots then that would be more than enough for a few gangs. How about territory control for gangs? Maybe you could do something similar to that of GTA: San Andreas, where you can 'own' an area or town or something, each gang has their own colour, map markers will show who controls each town, then when a gang wants to take over someones turf, they have to go to an enemy controlled town, and engage an action at a flag pole to 'Take over turf' and then a countdown could start, then those who own the turf have to get to their turf to defend it. If they dont turn up within x amount of time, then the territory becomes controlled by them. If the defenders turn up, then a battle will commence, defenders have to kill/chase out the attackers from their town, to retain control. The attackers have to kill/chase out all defenders from the town/area to win. I personally think that would be great, then the cops could get warnings of this and try to diffuse the fighting or remove gang control from each of the towns. Returning them to neutral. The benefits of town control could be discounts at shops/work place purchases or something, or some sort of steady income (different towns have different incomes). I think its a good idea, see what you think, but sounds like a hell of a lot of work, so you might wanna retune it a bit Keep up the great work

    ArmA AI is not scripted, There is alot difference between ARMA AI and other games AI. Are you serious? The AI's behaviour is definitely scripted or it would do absolutely nothing. And the point stands, once you know how they react to various things, it's like shooting a fish in a barrel unless there are so many fishes that they drown you. It's not scripted. The mission editor just gives it basic orders and it makes decisions on it's own. (Ever try the guard waypoint?) Scripted AI would mean that the mission editor has to define exactly what it does. Look at the FSM files for yourself. That's not scripting (Note the AI doesn't only use the FSM files, the rest is programmed in the game). Well you're both right, Obviously the AI has to have a scripted/programmed/FSM'd 'brain' and its definately predictable, you can tell when they're gonna fire at you half the time, it may not follow exact predesigned paths as in some other games, but the ai 'brain' is definately predictable in some cases. Though you're right, its not 'scripted' as in it has pre-programmed direct paths and points of fire/exact points to defend at. (unless specifically scripted by the mission maker)

    Nice work guys Im not too sure about having the bank inside a building though.. Remember that all buildings are destructable.. unless you've found a way to make them invincible... cause otherwise someone will go carbomb/truckbomb the building (bank is always a target) and then you'll have a computer floating outside in rubble... :S Just wondering whether or not you considered that and if you had a fix in place if you want to do it? Cheers  EDIT: @ Cain Sounds like a great idea! I'd love to have a nice closed community for Sahrani Life without the greifers, with proper admins etc A tournament also sounds interesting, though i am a member of International Conflict so that will come first for me Depending on the setup/date/time i'll definately join up!

    I believe that is an engine limitation of ArmA mate ---------------------- By the way, thinking about it, i suggest if you do intend to add more slots to the map, you do it before adding new scripts/features.. cause the more scripts and stuff you add, surely the more difficult it gets to add on more scripts? Just a suggestion to save you bother

    Thanks for the update Fewo =) Good to see you're reading everyone's posts! Obviously you shouldnt/couldnt add all the suggestions, quite a lot of them are trying to make the game to 'their own taste', which limits the opportunities of the mission IMO. At the end of the day, anything you can add would be great, but dont feel obliged to take something from everyone if you dont think its suitable for the map or if its going to create a more linear type of gameplay =) Remember guys, although lots of elaborate scripts etc may not be a problem with this many slots, if you want more slots AND more scripts, you're gonna sacrifice performance.. personally i'd rather keep my performance and just add more slots =) But anything which can be added without having noticeable performance impacts are great Keep up the good work

    Yeah personally i hope addons are eventually added, would be nice to get a good quality police car with siren that way its easier to know if you're chasing someone. I had a great game earlier, played my first time as a police officer, i warned everytime before i shot, and i cleared out criminal buildings, barracaded them up so they could not be re-entered. Highlight of the game was when a few civs went to Obregan to load up on rifles (which were outlawed due to excess gun crime) and so i took me and another cop just north of the town, we set up a road block just outside town, and the criminals were loading up a full truck with weapons dam they must have been angry when they saw our huge roadblock, we shot at them and damaged the vehicle, but they drove on, we had a hot pursuit across the terrain eventually taking them out Great fun! To be honest, if you got the right crowd and a good admin, this map is amazing More legal stuff to do would be cool, im not really sure what.. but if anyone can brainstorm ideas that would be great that way people have more of a choice

    Well the fact is, the majority of cops who play this game just dish out their punishment as shooting, whether u scratch their cop car, rob the bank or shoot someone, they will just shoot you and not attempt an arrest, fine or whatever. The non lethal weapons would give the cops an option to still be able to shoot, but cause only injury and not death In a good game though, i would have no issue with just lethal weapons But the problem is the majority of games end up with Cops with a shoot to kill policy..

    Cool news about the judge/president/mayor whatever, i hope you and Fewo can come up with some cool ideas for how to make that work.. By the way, a lot of problems with the map which people are posting about are due to the players. Dwarden is right in saying the police are too easy to abuse and raises some good points/ideas. At the end of the day all you need is to get a COMPETANT admin, set out the rules at game start, give people 3 strikes or whatever, 3 strikes and they get kicked if they do not follow the rules. When people join, make sure you tell them the rules and tell them the punishment procedure etc. by the way Dwarden, i completely support the idea of non lethal weapons for Cops, i posted about this for Sahraniville, i was suggesting rubber bullets and stuff like that, so people can be disarmed instead of just being killed, when hit with a rubber bullet or taser then they hit the floor and are paralysed for a few seconds.. At least it would stop people screaming "OMFG WTF U KILL ME FOR ASSHOLE, WHY WHY?!?!" because cops are just itching to shoot you instead of waiting to find out the full story or risk getting killed themselves. (when the rules state they must warn before they shoot)

    Thanks for the info Fewo, keep up the good work man! @Deady: No i dont think there should be a limit to death time, its good because it means you wont want to die. Which means people value their lives more. Sure, its annoying when some idiot comes and runs you over cause they're bored, but otherwise it means that if you go on a crime spree, you've really gotta make sure you live and not just go crazy with an AK next to the bank. I saw a hilarious thing yesterday, some guy was angry cause the cops sent him to jail wrongly, i picked him up, and he took a suicide bomb, then he told me to get out the car, and he slowly drove into a police check point outside the bank shouting "ALLAH AKBAHHHH!!!" on VOIP and then everything just exploded killing about 5 cops and a civvie or two. With FDF sounds and Maddmatt's ArmAEffects it was great to watch Also im really really glad that you kept this map more 'on the ground' its almost impossible to 'arrest' a chopper, and it would just turn into a chopper DM... Another suggestion: maybe make the buildings at civvie respawn automatically repair themselves? Just for the sake of long term games you know.. Hopefully once the vehicle deletion script is working properly then we can have some persistent servers set up Theres nothing more annoying than building up your wealth only to have an admin come and restart the map Tip for everyone: If you want to play a GOOD roleplay, get a competant admin who intends to stick around for a long time, and make sure you tell everyone the rules of roleplay. If people start breaking the role play and start turning it into a TDM, then the admin can kick them from the server until people play properly EDIT: @ Jarvis: You can get weapons illegally, you gotta get someone with a licence to buy them for you. One of my favourite role plays is to be a weapon dealer, i get the licences, i buy the weapons and deliver them to the customer directly. Then i charge them a premium for the delivery and for giving it to them without the licence, therefore i make profit, and we got some good role play going

    Nice job issetea! Really feeling good about bank insurance And yeah i noticed the vehicle respawn thing didnt work.. it seemed to be mostly wrecks which didnt dissappear. Keep up the EXCELLENT work!

    Why cant we use it in a mod folder? I *never* put 3rd party addons in my root ArmA folder, if i need to revert to vanilla ArmA for any reason it is much easier to do if i have everything stored in seperate mod folders.

    Played this a LOT recently, from a general opinion gathering ive heard these requests come up multiple times: 1) The bank. Bank robberies are very irritating, something needs to be done to make robberies happen less, because at the moment. Cops' main objective is to just stand at the bank. And if they do not bother, money HAS to be kept on your person otherwise you will just lose it when someone spawns, robs and drives away. Also you have to constantly keep collecting your money from the bank or it gets stolen. Either we need a 'secure' bank where we have to pay some sort of additional fee or some other concession, and this bank cannot be robbed, it allows people to have somewhere safe to store money instead of just having it constantly robbed. 2) Cop menu: at the moment you need to hold down enter, new cops end up accidentally disarming people and then they cannot give these weapons back. Why should they have to hold down enter? the automatic selection is disarm, it should stay up until the cop presses esc so that they dont automatically disarm someone. Cheers, keep up the great work Hope you get some nice addons in too, will stop the idiots just jumping in, killing everything, then disconnecting and screwing up the game. =)
