  1. I also noticed that some moths ago, if you find any solution to make the server use all the cores at 100%( when needed :P), post it! :D

Of course colum, if I find anything new, I will post it here.

Until recently (and it's still the case in 1.05), server was only using 2 threads, 1 for main game, 1 for AI.

Are your missions using many server-calculated AIs?

    Hi whisper.

I monitored the server with many missions, including massive PvP games and also massive coops full of AIs. Both with 1.05 and 1.07.

Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any difference in CPU usage. If I do not set any value for the "cpucount" parameter, it will use the 4 cores up to 25 % only, in any kind of missions.

    I'm using Windows Server 2008.

Aren't you experiencing the same behavior ? Could you, server admins, take a look at your server CPU usage during huge games and report here ?

I googled about this alot, and I was surprised not to find other guys facing this problem. Maybe it's just happening to us, or maybe nobody checks the server resources while playing. I don't know..

    Thanks for your help.

  2. Hi Taxman, thanks for your answer.

When I set cpucount=4, the server uses 4 cores up to 25 %

When I set cpucount=3, the server uses 3 cores up to 33 %

When I set cpucount=2, the server uses 2 cores up to 50 %

When I set cpucount=1, the server uses 1 core up to 100 %.

It did the same when I was using a program to allocate a program to several cores.

  3. I've got the exact same problem here.

I was alone on the server while monitoring.

I ran a mission with a lot of AIs and buildings.

I got 11-15 FPS on the server using the #monitor command ingame. I thought that having such a low FPS rate was due to an overload of the server.

When I switched back on the server and checked the CPU usage, It was only using 25% CPU.

Why doesn't it automatically use more resources while overloading ? Is it a normal behavior ?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

  4. Hi everyone !

Very interesting thread and very interesting features !

I've been able to test ACM within the editor, but haven't tested it on multiplayer though.

I've just got one question. I've uncompressed all the pbo files of the game and never found this cfggroups file.

Where can I find it ? So that I can select the spawning units.

Thanks by advance for the answer.

    Best regards.

    Ok... sorry for the flood..

I've tried calling BIS_ACM_addGroupClassesFunc with some group strings I found in cfggroups. For example :

    [bIS_ACM,["usmc_infantry"]] call BIS_ACM_addGroupClassesFunc;

... and then nothing spawns with ACM.

When I try to call BIS_ACM_removeGroupClassesFunc like this :

    [bIS_ACM,["usmc_armored","usmc_tankplatoon","usmc_motinfsection_at","usmc_motinfsection","usmc_motorized","usmc_mechreconsection","usmc_mechinfsquad","usmc_mechanized"]] call BIS_ACM_removeGroupClassesFunc;

    those units still spawn.

What I conclude is that the functions might work well as no unit spawned with the BIS_ACM_addGroupClassesFunc command.

    So :

    • I may not use the right cfggroups strings,
    • I may have to create my own group database thanks to an addon... but it hope it won't be necessary
    • The functions may be bugged
    • I may be silly !

Could you please give us more details about the strings demanded by these functions ?

    Thanks by advance.

  5. Tonite we launched an expert coop game with my friends on "Into the Storm" and we found 2 annoying bugs.

    • When you die on coop mode, you respawn (is it possible to disable it ?). While we have respawned, we can't be killed anyway. We tried teamkilling, jumping from cliffs, satchel blowing, close combat against tanks and 1vs20 against npc machinegunners. Nothing could kill us.
    • I've got a 26 inches 16/10 screen and we can't se the vertical coordonitates on the map which is truncated on its top and bottom sides. It's quite annoying on expert mode when you can't see the coordinates on the overlay

This is just my feedback and I didn't find where to report bugs, so here it is.

    Sorry for my bad english.

  6. Hi !

I was reading this forum when I remarked it was the official one. Though I don't understand what such a forum is made for, as there is not much official information, but a lot of people writing plzzz plzzz I want screenshots plzzz...

So, maybe (I say maybe tounge2.gif) my post will be useful. I remarked in OFP that it could be possible ton run faster while straffing. I hope this kinda "bug" won't still exist in ArmA. Maybe you didn't noticed it, so... here it is... Also, it was possible to run fast for a long looong time, which was not realistic at all, and also when we had big load. It'd be cool not to be able to do this anymore.

Keep up the good work, screenshots are becoming nicer and nicer.. and sorry if my english is bad 'cause I'm coming from France.
