Great Are the Norwegain army still using the MG-3 as GPMG?
-
Sure we do! There are always those that prefer separate "small" addons over total conversions like FDF/WGL. Â Edit, Why wouldn't the GRU fit into the FDF mod?
-
I second that!
-
Looks good, nice textures. A few more polys on the boonies wouldn't hurt though. They look a little sqaurish now. Ask Shar about the one he made for the SFP 4.0 SSG (screens below).

Oh look what you've made me do, break my promise I'm not sure of Russian doctrines but as far as I'm aware the common doctrines are to make patrol bases / backpack hides where you leave all the more heavy stuff when you perform strikes, close target recons, ambushes etc. Though it is not uncommon to take smaller backpacks, roughly up to 25-30 Liters, during these missions (like the side pockets on a Berghaus Vulcan for instance) And removeble backpacks gives more variety to the unit looks. I personally prefer that over the very slight clipping problems. And if they could be made to secondary weapon slots compatible with the FDF mod I'd be even more happy.

Excellent! I'll shut up now.
-
Ah I checked out that combat gear site and it seems like it indeed is the same type of uniform. How did you guys decide to do with the backpacks (static vs removable)? I remember it was discuessed sometime ago but not what your decission was.

WOW! Excellent!! That looks like those mountain troop uniforms I've seen pictures of from early 80's or something. Is this a development of those?
-
The soldier in the back of the picture have at least done the örnmarschen (eagle marsch) as you can see the insignia on his right arm. Considering how youthfull he is looking I doubt he is anything else then a conscript at fjs. (Parachute ranger school)

The face of war of today have slipped back to much more resemble the way it looked in the middle ages upto early 18th century then the period there after up untill the end of the cold war.

Finnish Defence Forces Modification 1.3
jotte replied to feersum.endjinn's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Excellent release! Like someone else said earlier, this have made me play Flashpoint in singel player for longer periods then I've done in a very long time! Thank you! -
Ah, that was the particular unit of the HV I was thinking of. Just couldn't remember the name.

collosus, read this http://www.smb.nu/svenskakrig/1814.asp I'm from that particular part of Sweden that once was Norwegian (What once was called Ranarike). Now back on the real topic. Any future plans for heimevernet soldiers?
-
One thing that would be fun if this is fielded fairly soon Ghost Recon 2 soldiermodels would yet again look old. GR 1 managed to have SF soldiers of 2008 looking like the grunts of recent history.
-
Downloading now Looks promising. Just one question, what timeframe is it portraying?
-
This looks "kempe greit".
-
This is going slightly off-topic but in our armed forces snipers might very well carry an assualt rifle in addition to his sniper/anti material rifle and other gear. Especially in the Jägar (ranger) units. Of course these guys will need more PT to enable them to carry more gear futher but you'd expect that from sof type of units, wouldn't you? ;)

Fantastic units. These lads look great when they liberate Mapfacts Nogova.

There is one thing that speak strongly for VBS 1 when you compere it to community addons, compatibility. This is always the biggest downside issue with community addons. They tend to model/code the reality in diffrent ways which make for problems, especially in multiplayer.

Even if the barrel is longer the turret still looks like a /76 one. Right now it looks more like the T-34 version with a 57 mm gun. Egyptian infantry looks nice.

And since when did filmmakers consider such things as submodells/calibers etc of rifles? Â It was a movie for petes sake. Â It's an AKR/AKS-74U weather or not that would be in the hands of the militia there in real life. You can even see the stock folded to the left side of the weapon as he chambers a round and lifts it above his head.
