  1. Dear Troubleshooting Forum, I am having an issue with ArmA3 becoming suddenly unplayable after random periods of time of play. Normal FPS is around 60. Without much warning FPS will drop to around 8 or lower and video artefacts appear. I believe from the RPT and similar users experience that this could be a memory leak. I personally love the quality and detail of the VTN mod, however on its own it has limited scope in terms of combined arms (not necessarily a bad thing, I think this game series has always done infantry combat better than combined arms anyway). However when you do want the extra content which mod do you use - as someone mentioned RHS duplicates a lot of stuff and feels incompatible. RHS stuff also looks brand new and shiny whereas VTN looks battle weary which is good. CUP possibly if I was to make a mission tomorrow and post it on the forum and say you need RHS / CUP / VTN then the audience would be limited to who could download 15gb of addons which duplicate a lot of stuff to varying degrees of quality. just some random thoughts
  3. Dear VTN Team, Thankyou for your efforts on this mod. I am having some troubles with the M224 60mm Mortar. I cannot seem to look at the sighting device on it. I have tried going into optics and trying to 'free look' down at it but my view is locked. In the video it shows you looking at the sight?! Also, it has 2 scales - left hand up to 400m and right hand to 1.3 km I presume. I understand this weapon has a range of 1.3 km however I am unable to get it to fire that far. Kind Regards, Jinef Edit : also would it be possible to adjust elevation with the page up / page down keys as per the BIS mortar - this way it makes it much easier to adjust accurately?

    Hi, I have resolved the issue by setting maxmem to half of my physical RAM (8192) and increasing the OS pagefile to the same as my physical RAM (16384). Sorry I didnt get the chance to use your solution however it was certainly focused in the same area!

    Austin_Medic, all that information is in the files I provided in far more detail than I could ever write in my post. Will try fiddling with malloc settings and monitor memory usage.
  7. I have been playing ArmA since it's release however have taken a break to return and find my system incredibly unstable. I am getting consistent D3D_DEVICE_REMOVED and 0x0000Dead Errors I have tried so far : •Update the graphics card drivers to a newer version. (.368) •Rollback the graphics card drivers to an older version. (.353) •Check the temperature of your GPUs and CPUs. •Verify the integrity of the game cache using Steam. •Re-install DirectX •Run a Windows System File Check Tool to repair corrupted system files. •Completely reinstalled windows 10 on a clean SSD. •Physically removed card and inspected for signs of heat damage / corrosion etc. My instinct says there is something fundamentally wrong with my hardware (GTX 580) however it can run other games better (albeit with similar instability issues) and stress testing on furmark reveals no obvious stress or instability.   9. ISSUE RESOLVED LATEST UPDATE NOW JUST WORKS Hi, I have been having this issue since the launch of the game. I downloaded it on the first day and have since not been able to play it *worlds smallest violin*. I start the game and and receive error as below. I have tried : Reinstalling DX several times. Reinstalling Nvidia Drivers 314.07 and Beta versions DXDiag Tests Changing Clock Frequencies with NVidia Inspector Startup parameter entries as reccommended Stable channel of ArmA3 and Development channel I believe my system is capable. I am not sure what is wrong. I run games such as DCS A10 warthog and have a lot of experience using PCs so I dont think it's anything really basic. Basic System Specs: I7 920 12 GB Ram GTX 580 SSD Full DXDiag info below : Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Issue now resolved. Game runs. I ran driver sweeper and there was an update to arma 3 so dunno which fixed it.
  11. Hmm, I havent tried the gf in the lap technique yet. But seeing as we dont seem to be getting any official response I'm up for trying anything!

I dont think it will change my error and I dont like playing around with clocks and memory because I am a novice and that is risky stuff. Dunno where the problem is :(

  16. This tiny config addon was designed for use in our community and after a few weeks of use we have decided to share it with a wider audience. What it does : Reduces Stamina Effects without losing any functionality. Speeds up certain medical functions. Stops you from losing/packing your weapon when getting into aircraft. It is designed with a more casual / less watching a black screen play style in mind.     Is there a way to stop JSRS making addon dependencies in your mission.sqm? For example JSRS_MT5 just stopped our server loading a mission. Loving the mod :)

    Yeah thanks for that Sickboy, I was kinda trying to avoid making our own version of ACE-Sys-Wounds as when a new version comes out we have to keep modifying it. As for the global variable method I will have another look, but I think the timing of the scripts is all done with private variables, which I wouldn't know how to modify without breaking the PBO.

    Well the way ace_sys_wounds seems to work is that it is a self contained module and uses private variables in it's scripts to define such things as heal time. If I could work out a way of making an external addon that modified the times I would have already done it but unfortunately my scripting knowledge does not extend that far. This is why I requested for some sort of global variable coefficient that would modify the wounding state times as per each community's needs. I am not trying to cause conflict or distress to those people who cherish playing soldier and think watching a progress bar tick along is as real as it gets. I just want a workable solution that doesn't cripple missions, which in it's current format is quite possible. Maybe somebody with more enlightenment on the scripting front can let us know if this is possible?

  25. Would it be possible to add an end condition that says if all zones are under your control it will end the mission?
