Which mod causes your character to throw stuff randomly when you're under attack?

Here is a method to find the cause: 1) Start ArmA with mods enabled. 2) See bug occur. 3) Close ArmA. 4) Turn off 1 (ONE!) mod. 5) Restart ArmA. If Step 2 re-occurs, repeat steps 3-5 until step 2 DOES NOT re-occur. Given your (ridiculously long) mod-set, I'll expect to hear back from you sometime around Christmas 2023... Welcome to de-bugging ArmA when you just smash mods together with no thought, rhyme or reason... EDIT: For shits and/or giggles if I were you I'd start with either AI-behaviour related mods (that seem to bleed over into player characters as well) and suppression-related mods that are forcing smoke/grenade spam when under fire...so maybe LAMBS Suppression/VCOMAI - but those are just (educated) guesses. Also note, it might not be one mod but several mods that by themselves work fine but when mixed together are conflicting and messing things up (see my previous "smash mods together" comment)... Don't know about your ReShade settings as I haven't touched anything regarding that since Skyrim came out (for the first time, not one of its 20 re-releases), but you can create mod presets in the Launcher for quickly changing what mods you load. -
Ace 3 now showing as completely outdated even though it's using a version posted to steam 5/24/2022

If the mission had a dependancy upon an addon you didn't have, you wouldn't be able to play it... You MUST have that addon installed for it to throw the error. Keep in mind that name is the cfgAddons name written in the config and not necessarily the PBO name as not all content authors have the sense to have a naming convention when it comes to the stuff they release... As @Harzach was eluding to you could try looking at your RPT which is the unwritten common-sense approach when you're getting errors left, right and centre. It is basically a log of the games config errors and such and will give a much more clear indication as to what you've broken by smashing mods together. If you can't make heads or tails of it you can try posting a link to it here (not the whole thing, it'll give people retinal-cancer). -

OK, at least we know the sound files themselves work within the engine. Try putting a '\' before each sound path eg. -

Sounds like you aren't running mods that are required by other mods which is of course going to give you errors... ...and old, outdated and/or poorly coded mods... -

All of this is of course assuming you're subscribed to the official ACE workshop files, rather than some janky third-party unofficial (and hence, probably outdated) upload... -

If you don't get any sort of config errors it might be an issue with the sound file themselves e.g. the bit rate etc. -
Same here. Its probably the third or fourth time I've purchased Skyrim since it came out over 10 years ago (GOTY editions and PC/XBONE) but had to get it (again) once I saw what modders had done to the VR version with physics interactions with NPCs etc. Plus, it was on sale 😃

I own a VR headset and would like VR support, but I'm not going to drop dead if they don't add it - so need is a stretch...

Why? If you use the VBS4 argument, have you seen the graphical difference between VBS4 and ArmA3? VBS4 is on par with ArmA1 in terms of graphical fidelity because its a training tool designed for functionality, not a game designed to look good. Granted, not all games need to look good to have good gameplay - however in terms of advertising - graphics, like sex, sells... Don't get me wrong, if they added VR support I'd be putting my Valve Index to good use, but to demand it is simply childish. Your "we need" position, is more of an "I want"...

This. 100% this. You would need to massively scale down the environment size and graphical fidelity for VR to function, and if you scale back the world size, rendering distance and graphical fidelity its no-longer ArmA...

Not to my knowledge. Its a painstaking process but you can find all of the classnames, paths and config parameters etc in the ingame config viewer. Though if re-texturing is still new to you that might be a bit daunting. Some of the Contact content has been decrypted from .EBO to .PBO, though sadly not all. I'm not sure if all of the EBOs are planned to be decrypted or not... -

Exactly. Look how that turned out with BF4...Already talks of it going free-to-play because of how poorly received it was, not to mention the bugs and connectivity issues. I'd hate to see such a fate befall a franchise that has had me hooked for over two decades...
