Yes Exigent, they will work in OFP (as this is the OFP version of the pack ).

Can't help but think the whole discussion should be in the off-topic section or some-such, as the majority of the last page of replies has been nothing to do with the pack, or for that matter OFP as a whole. Moving BACK ON-TOPIC, the latest (and hopefully final) BETA should be released to my testers later today, so hopefully, providing no/few bugs are discovered, the pack should be released this weekend (allowing time for my testers to do their job ).

Yeah, I plan to update it in a future version. Cpt. FrostBite is correct in his reply about the Ammo/Magazine issue. The reason I added the Ammo names to the config was incase anyone wished to know such information for whatever reason. For most mission makers it can be ignored as it will rarely be used.

As I decided to make the RO901 model of the M16A4, it fires in semi-auto and a full-auto modes (much like the M4A1), whereas the M16A2, fires in semi-auto and 3-round-burst mosts, as does the standard BIS M16A2. The rounds are exactly the same, they were simply defined separately so it was easier on my part to keep track of the ammo each weapon uses. The magazines, are obviously different, because as we all know, OFP 'stores' the firing mode of each weapon in the weapons' magazines. @exigent: I wont be releasing until Wednesday at the absolute earliest due to work/family commitments. Also, none of the LMG/HMGs in the pack feature a silencer of any sort. For reference, here is an old image of the M16A4, which shots off the detachable carrying handle, and the RIS/RAS that ThePara pointed out: http://sjb.gotf.net/vbs1_addons/weapons_pack/images/SJB_TOS_M16A4.jpg EDIT: Corrected the model number of the M16A4 which I had incorrectly called the "RO109".

Agreed on that score STGN. I hope you don't mind, but I used the same recoil values from your M4 addon for the M4s in the pack, as I felt the values seem to fit just right.

Yes, at the very same links Ruff provided in fact I'll be uploading the updated class-name list shortly - I haven't forgotten about it

I forgot to add them to the classname list, it will be corrected shortly.

Sure, I'll upload the readme (which contains practically all the weapon and magazine classnames) shortly and post a link when its up. *EDIT* I've uploaded a seperate classname file, as the whole readme contained a few details I didn't want to share at this time. Anyway, the file can be found at http://usmcsquad.org/pafiledb/uploads/SJB_WeaponsPack_Classnames.txt, courtesy of my OFP MP Squad, the USMC. I'd suggest right clicking the link to the *.txt file and using the 'Save Target As...' function as viewing it in Internet Explorer may, depending on your settings, look jumbled and confusing.

    1) Thats what I'm aiming for (pardon the pun). 2) Roughly 50MB in a *.CAB File (has a greater compression ratio that *.ZIP/*.RAR files) - If compressed to a *.ZIP the resulting file would be almost 94MB. 3) I'll see what time I get as to whether I post any more screenshots. With the release being close, I may not get time/be bothered to take any screenshots, but like I said, I'll see what I can do.

Its in the 'Creating Addons' forum in the Member section, which to be able to see you have to have registered (which requires you own VBS1). Anyway, lets keep this on topic from now on

Possibly, I'll have to see how things go, and how the tweaking of the implementation goes. I'm going to be out tomorrow, and at work all day Saturday, so my time will be limited so it will be Sunday at the earliest - again, thats no guarantee though.

    Tears of the sun seals

Well, I was just discussing the main problem that was holding up the pack with a few guys on MSN. We brain-stormed a few ideas, and I've managed to find a fix. Its not yet fully implemented, but its fixed the huge drop that the PSG1 rounds had over a certain distance. I just need to incorporate the fix into the other affected weapons, and we're back on track.

    Tears of the sun seals

BETA testing has turned up a few bugs, one or two of which are going to take a while to narrow down (namely the M21s, SR25s and PSG1s having crap ballistics and the bullets dropping faster than Jude Law's trousers at a Nanny convention). Most of the other bugs have been fixed (erroneous namings of some weapons, disproportionate damage values etc). Anyway, the point is, and I hate saying it, but the pack wont be out for this weekend. I want the pack done, and released as much as you guys do, but I'm not prepared to release an unfinished and bug-riddled pack - not again. No idea when it'll be done, but it'll be as soon as humanly possible - i.e. when I fix these few remaining bugs.

@Ruff: Its similar, but not exactly the same, as those you have linked to are the 'Commando' variant (with a 'tactical' fore-grip with rails for attaching flash-lights, vertical fore-grips and the like). The one in the pack is the 'basic' version. Check the link below for an image (its from VBS, but gives the general idea). SG552 (Thanks to Fudge of OFPBASE.com for hosting)

    1) They will be totally different to the early BETA released roughly 18 months ago. They'll be based around the HYK Modern Infantry units. 2) The site is out of date, so the 90% is inaccurate (its more like 60%) - I haven't updated it in ages. 3) Yes, they will come in desert camo. 4) Hopefully not long, but there are a lot of weapons to test - I'd probably estimate a week or so. 5) Hopefully yes. If only minor bugs/none at all ( ) are evident, the release will be next weekend. 6) Most sounds have been changed for more realistic sounds. @Ruff: Its more like 190+ actually

    Tears of the sun seals

Well, I finally got around to removing the VBS1 references from the M249 models, and eventually got the pack into OFP after a couple of hiccups (namely forgetting to update the optic PBO file and wondering why the hell OFP wouldn't start Anyway, BETA testing should begin sometime this weekend. I've already selected my BETA Testers, so please don't reply here/e-mail me/PM me asking to test, as I wont reply. I'll post some screenshots of the pack in OFP at some point. Until then, be safe in the knowledge progress is being made

    International Special Forces

Isn't that the idea of Delta Force and Navy SEALs but they wear shed-loads of identification/flags/tags (although mostly they cover them up and only use them to indentify themselves as American to whomever i.e. hostages they're rescuing etc.). Its a good idea to include it as an optional thing, for those who want it. Those who don't want it, are not forced to use it.
  18. Jackal326

    International Special Forces

Indeed. What is wrong with giving them the default BIS weapons, and then changing their weapons manually yourselves? Making addons is hard work as it is, without making more work for the authors Afterall, I imagine thats why BIS coded the "removeallweapons" command, as well as the "addweapon" and "addmagazine" init-line commands to the game.

*dances a jig* I was just double checking the technical specifications of the SG552, when I noticed the overall length was approximately 730 mm (28.74 inches), which, when I compared it to the specifcations of the M4A1 as published on www.colt.com, I found the SG552 was roughly 5 inches shorter than the M4A1. This, in contrast with my pack's models, the scaling of the SG552s is pretty damn good One less thing to alter

    M4's for weapon Individualism

...but then the trouble comes with using the OTHER M4 variants with the magazine, as all of those would become the Bipod-Down model if I remember correctly. It'd be simpler not to bother

    Tears of the sun seals

The SEALs will get released later than the weapons (not sure of a time-scale for the SEALs yet), all I know is they WON'T be released with the weapons. I'm having to re-make a fair amount of kit for them, particularly head-gear, to be slightly lower in the old polycount, so they 'fit' the OFP heads better (that is of course, unless llauma release his new heads in the near future - which I hope to be able to use). EDIT: Oh, and by the way, I finally implemented the seperate config.cpp idea after I thought it through, and read Soul_Assassin's post. Its only part of the weapons pack thus-far, hopefully I'll be able to include it in the SEALs too at a later-date, when I continue work on them.

    Tears of the sun seals

When you put it like that... In other news, the pack is progressing well. All that is left to do is code the new MP5KA4-PDW variants (wont take long), re-scale the SG552 series (probably will take a while, starting to break my balls already), and then mop up any remaining VBS1 references. Two weeks tops (I know I said that a week ago, but that was before someone said "Hey, what about an MP5K-PDW?"
  23. Jackal326

    Tears of the sun seals

They say a picture paints a thousand words, so here are 2,000 for you: The updated MP5 'Tactical' now with a collapsable stock. The MP5K-PDW (also with aimpoint optic and suppressed variants)

    OFP Addon Mania

As far as I know, the mission(s) affected (99% as you stated), will still function correctly, and shouldn't cause any issues. If I read your post right, its the "Cannot load mission, missing addons: Whatever" that appears as a 'Global Chat' when you hit the MP briefing screen - If that is truely the case, its more of a simple annoyance than anything sinister likely to ruin your game and/or kick you from the server. If you do not use many addons (clearly you do, this is more of a fix for those who don't), then simply put them in your OFP/Addons or OFP/Res/Addons folders and forget about mod folders. However, if you're in the same boat as many, I feel its just going to have to be a case of grinning and baring it, unless of course someone knows of a fix I don't

    International Special Forces

They look like them, but aren't. Lenses and the mount are completely different. Anyway, back on topic, the units are looking top notch, keep up the good work. Forgive me if the following question has been asked and/or answered already, but will they feature any customisation options (armpatch etc.) and/or the ability to remove helmet etc.
