...run wasteland at 20fps MAX...
...any suggestions?
It's poor server-side performance, which limits your own FPS. Find other servers.

Yea, I paid 32 bucks and it looks like I won't get it back. Since when do ppl pay for Alpha versions? Wow, learned my lesson.
You paid for the full game, you're currently getting early access.
Caveat emptor.

Then don't do business with said company? You're being offered a deal/product, you can walk away from that deal, but I understand the emotional need to express your dependency on said product, that has changed slightly, yet you still crave it.
... I can live with it. I dont NEED to buy games from such companies.I dont NEED to buy gamesI dont NEEDFreud would argue otherwise. It's okay.

Turning off Vsync does not have any appeciable effect. Is the bottleneck my CPU or something else?CPU is fine, VSync will have a noticable effect - if your setup can't keep FPS CONSTANTLY at 60, it will jump to 30, then to 20, etc and stay there.

Repost?
Picture-In-Picture mirros, PhysX cars make such missions possible - this is brilliant! :D

Here's the Entry - http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=716
"Assigned", next phase is going to be "Confirmed", if it ever gets confirmed. :p Or I'm probably looking the other way, if it's Assigned, then it's confirmed - next Resolved... I wish.

@white haven't you been listening? This is a well documented case, where barley two cores are being utilized properly, it doesn't matter whenever it's an alpha or not, since this dates way back, to the year of 2009! Almost five years have past, they've had plenty of time for improvement, for them to sort their shit out, once and for all, however it remains queued on ice. They don't even dare to openly acknowledge this irritable issue in public!Calm down, it's been assigned/acknowledged with 450 votes on the feedback tracker. We know it's (probably) game over for smaller communities/casual servers if performance stays the same on Altis.
-
I don't understand the issue, but to each their own.

XR had Benny. Most people have no idea how much he optimized the sharing of info well beyond the limits of what BIS ever intended to be done. He had to invest that much into the game because the framework BIS gave him was utter rubbish. And in the end it made him quit the mapmaking. Just like it did with most good mappers. That he did, but the very same BE Warfare versions ran, like I said, "ok-ish" on 3.5/4 GHz servers, as opposed to XR's stellar performance.
Unless the multithreading capability gets greatly enhanced, I suspect we will either have to down-size to 20-24 player limit for every major CTI mission, or OC the CPUs sky-high.

I have no OC.On steam forums some guy wrote some tips for ppl having same problem "uninstall zonealarm"
I have zonealarm but it is ridiculous that I would need to uninstall it. Game should not be racist to antivir programs :/
I didnt have almost no issue with my pc and games. Only Euro Truck Simulator 2 one time caused BSOD. But other games no problems till now with arma 3:/
my video drivers are 306.23
CPU: i7 3820
GPU: GTX 660Ti
MOBO:MSI X79A-GD65 (8D)
RAM: Corsair vengeance 16GB
Can't you put ZA into sleep/silent mode? Disable while you run the game.

This topic again? GOD NO.
The term "suppression" is used loosely in the way you describe, but in doctrinal land warfare vernacular, it's quantified and separated into two main effects - completely inhibiting the enemy's ability to act (suppressed), or turning him around and sending him somewhere else (neutralized). So when we apply fire, we do so knowing it will have one of 3 outcomes - the enemy will either be suppressed, be neutralized, or remain effective. No matter what, the result will always be one of those. And even diminished effectiveness still constitutes effective in this context.
A diminished capacity to act - as little as one guy holding his AK above the trench - constitutes him still being effective - because if he can do that, he can also do other things like throw grenades, shoot your assaulters when they approach or what have you. The point is he's still resisting and can still inflict casualties. That means he's not yet suppressed. In tactics language, suppressed means not able to do anything. So suppression is either a one or a zero. You've either suppressed someone or you haven't. And while it may sound like semantics, suppression is a very important event in a firefight that triggers subsequent steps being set into motion.
I'll use the example of the typical canadian section attack drill to illustrate what i mean.
Once the advancing section comes under effective enemy fire, the next thing they do is try to gain fire superiority over the enemy position they're taking fire from and which they want to attack. The section will actually stay put (no longer advancing) and try to put down a volume of fire on the enemy that totally forces him to hunker down. The section commander will know this has been accomplished when there's no more fire coming from that location. That point in the attack is what we call "winning the firefight". And once the section commander knows he's won the firefight, then and only then will the section begin their advance up the the enemy position. And they'll do it while simultaneously keeping constant amount of fire on the enemy location that's sufficient to KEEP the enemy's head down. But the point is, the "winning the firefight" is a very concrete landmark in an attack. It's the point where the targeted enemy is no longer firing back. That's what we refer to as "suppression". It's a black and white thing, although we sometimes refer to suppression as being subjective.
Oh, and to answer your question - 16 years in the infantry.
Chris wins this thread, at least in defining what the term actually means. Also, here's a bonus featuring REAL suppressive fire as described above,
Can you peeps spot it?
Chris, if your proposition is only limited to AI and not BF3-like schizoid effects on the player, then Good luck to you.

Factory OC tend to be stable.
What OS are you running?
-
Just stating the obvious.
As always.
Steam is here to stay (for A3A). Steam is the reason I was able to launch ArmA III Alpha// on the 5th of March, after a 2 minute purchase order & 60 minute download no less.

HelloMy Problem is that i cant play the Multiplayer because i play with 8 FpS or less, i have a 3000 kb/s Internet Line but a good Computer. also with low grapik setting it doesn't work. It is Possible that it lies on the Internet?
It is poor server FPS performance, which limits client FPS. Don't even second-guess it, it's not your fault, or the fault of your PC.
Try other servers.
-
If any of your PC components are overclocked, try resetting the OC to standard settings, then launching again.
-
EB... every one of those entities has a physics component attached to it now, which wasn't in ArmA II. :) I know the perf of ArmA II evo/domi/warfare - ran brilliantly with a million AI.
We have to adapt for the time being.
-
What drivers are you running? Try updating to 314 @ Nvidia.com & perhaps resetting the settings in the Global profile Nvidia Control Panel.
Last resort would be to remove the OC on your GPU - a lot of games in early stages don't take too kindly to any kind of OC.
-
Offloading physics onto a separate core would be a dream. No idea if that's at all possible.
-
Apparently theres issues with ai causing fps loss"Co-op missions and certain AI instructions in Alpha currently can reduce a server to 1-2 FPS with 0 clients on, and only a few AI.
PVP Missions seem to perform quite well for an Alpha.
That was posted as Alert from Jestservers
Always been like that, even moreso in ArmA III with PhysX being calculated on server CPU.
There are 2-3 main threads with at least 10 pages each on these forums about CPU underutilisation/multicore/physics/ai performance woes.
-
Well, then this thread loses its point. AFAIR, Vet always was 1st pv for me in ArmA II - must've been pr0 custom servers. :D

It launchers, goes black, then something about Intel Drivers crashing. According to task manager it is still running. I've read about other people having this as a bug. I can run arma 2 and arma 2OA along with call of duty.I doubt the HD 2000 is supported, since it's almost 2 generations behind and it is an integrated Intel GFX solution.
You need a dedicated card.

Ok peeps need some constructive answers please!!My specs:
Intel Core I5 750 (o'c to 3.2Ghz) (stock is 2.67Ghz)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti
8GB DDR3 RAM
Win7 Ultimate 64 bit
Motherboard: Asus P7H55
Hard drive: WDC WD5000AAKS-00UU3A0 ATA Device
I am getting really low FPS, should I be? I have turned down the settings to "standard" in most cases, screenshots:
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/2637/arma32013031014272959.jpg
Set the preset to Standard & turn off VSync! Then put Shadow on High, PIP - Low, PostProc Quality - Low, Objects - High, Textures - High.
Keep the standard View Distance. BTW, shadow on high is because I think they're rendered on the CPU if put on Normal, just like in ArmA II. You need to balance the load, divert more to your powerful GPU.
I think Vsync is your main problem, it limits your FPS if you can't keep it close to your monitor's refresh rate, which is probably 60. Turning off Vsync may open up High preset for you.

When I see someone, I shoot. Then I hear some people raging, then I found out, it was friendly fire. Is there any easy way to see if the person is enemy or friendly. I try looking at the clothes and camo, but it looks alike. Kinda .Help me out here guys
I initially had the same problem... Camos kinda similar in style, but play for another 10 hours & you should naturally come to recognise the subtle gear differences & the more pronounced colour difference. :)

The year is 2013 and their engine can't still fully utilize a dual nor quad-core.Yes... this is the only angle we can complain from, because PhysX & AI performance per core is good, but multithreaded/multicore utilisation is, sadly, where it had been in ArmA II.
With the added load of physics simulation, multithreading will mean life or death for non-OC/casual servers.
-
If you're running any antivirus programs, try setting it to Silent mode for 1-2 hours prior to launching the game.
