Does the basic Russian grunt really lack NVGs like in ARMA2?
Iroquois Pliskin replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in OFFTOPIC
Photo OP from South Osetia/Georgia by Arkady Babchenko (Ðркадий Бабченко), photos taked in the span of Aug. 7-13 of 2008 if I'm correct. Arkady is a vet from the Chechen wars, now working as a journalist. You decide for yourself if you'd like to serve in this army and guard the motherland, not that you have any choise if you're born into it, other than revolt or getting the fuck out. **LINK REMOVED BY MOD** This army has zero fighting capability in night time; more FF than anywhere else: top of the iceberg - 2 friendly Su25 shot down by their own, with manpads. NOTE: Some photographs are graphic. -
Any progress at graphic artefacts with ATI cards?

If there is a permament and reasonable solution, why ignore it? -

Iroquois Pliskin replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in OFFTOPIC
Like I said, you don't want to know the rest. The basic concept is: "mother Russia will pump out more." (Pizda eshe narozhaet) Pump out what exactly - people, of course. You don't want to be discussing a situation where regular citizens have near-zero value on the government level; not even talking about great ideals, or even ordinary laws. It has always been this way, that is why we're not in mother Russia anymore; sole reason of return would be a good spot somewhere high in the marble halls to milk the peasants. -

Let me take my golden pen out, gentlemen, Iroquois Pliskin :D -
The only one that comes to mind is SWAT 4, R6: Raven Shield (Haven't played Vegas), GhostReconAW 1 & 2. SWAT 4 is really good, especially over the net. Basically any ubisoft game that had a Tom Clancy's stamp on it pre-2006. :) EDIT: Also Project I.G.I. & I.G.I.-2: Covert Strike. First one is brilliant. P.S. Does anyone remember http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Operations, http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/globaloperations/index.html? This game had holy crap-weapon modificiations along with great gameplay & even physics AFAIR. :D

I bet you can run it at 4x AAA @ 1920, everything very high/max enthusiast. :D I've played through Crysis & Crysis Warhead with those settings except the AA on a Phenom II 2x 550, 4gb DDR3 1333mhz o'ram & a 4890. (OS is win7 64b w/ 9.7/9.8) Unlike Crysis Warhead, the original Crysis actually had a worthy story and reminded me of Far Cry, which was a brilliant debut by the team. Gameplay after the Core levels is stunning, especially the half-frozen jungles. They've exploited my fetish for snow & icy weather, but that's another story. :D

Tree texture bug
Iroquois Pliskin replied to Pauldarrington's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
This looks like a fucked up Anti-Aliasing of an alpha texture. Reset everything to Normal, put app controlled AA/AF in control panel. -
What about that emergency landing :D

Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.
Iroquois Pliskin replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Yes. Depending on the resolution you use, SLI or single GPU; if it's <1920x1080 one GTX 260 w/ 216sp (2nd revision) will suffice. More than 1920x1080 and I'd get a GTX 275 instead, or a Radeon 4890. -
ARMA II Beta Builds Released: Latest version/build: 1.04.6xxxx
Iroquois Pliskin replied to mattxr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
I'm going to wait and see how many servers install it; otherwise great work if all of the issues mentioned above are fixed! Especially smoke, Pliskin was longing for some can & satchel versus tank action. :D -
Aircraft rudder has a mind of its own?
Iroquois Pliskin replied to xPaveway's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Rudder behaves properly on all planes except the F35. When I first got into that thing & took off, first you obviously notice is the rudder going back & forth. My initial impression was: holy shit, just like in real life, the plane is useless without onboard automated flight help system; bet they forgot to update the firmware back at the hangars. :D It is quite hard to aim with the F35, accuracy being 15-20% on bursts, so it is indeed a bug. -
settings. turn on this. turn off that? List for those new to the game!!
Iroquois Pliskin replied to Eppidemic's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
That's why you want it at very high. Highest shadow setting of Armed Assault 1 equals to Arma II normal one if I remember correctly. :D ---------- Post added at 05:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:58 AM ---------- AA: :D Not in this game, buddy. The amount of foliage kills FPS like no other game. -

Regarding shadow quality: http://www.hardocp.com/image.html?image=MTI0OTg2ODM0NVI0V21CMUkxRlpfOV83X2wucG5n Rest of the IQ comparison with different settings: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2009/08/10/arma_ii_gameplay_performance_image_quality/9 Eppidemic, I'm talking about the command line. Open the properties of Arma II shortcut then paste this in Target line: -nosplash -cpuCount=4 -maxmem=2047 -world=empty Example: "C:\*\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -nosplash -cpuCount=4 -maxmem=2047 -world=empty With your rig you can max out everything, except texture quality/vid mem @ high, no AA (depending on resolution) and HDR is user specific as I said. -
I indeed am using the benefits of said civilization, but I am not the one in the green religious sect, you are the follower of it, and certain people are you priests. Wind power & solar power implies no progress, if you were to replace our current energy suppliers. You are ignorant, or merely afraid to look beyond your political correctness. A destroyer of civilization, a barbarian or a civilized man. What are you? To end this pointless on all levels discussion I would like to state that humanity will continue to exploit this planet as much as possible, unless a cataclysm occurs, be that natural or man-made such as a nuclear war. But still, I did not quite get the point of your position in the religious sect, are you and your lot talking about only the Western civilization, or the whole world? Because our green politics in African are a success, said with no sarcasm; if you wish, we could continue this success with Asia, stabilizing the population of the planet, and in time, reducing it to comfortable levels.
-
Are you not a civilized man, are you not using the benefits of Western civilization? The nature of your beast is you want to retain the comfort that you currently have, conserve it for yourself and deny the same comfort to others, not with bad intentions, but with actions. Or are you a barbarian, with the need to live outside of civilization, devoid of progress. Or perhaps you just want to live off windmills, solar panels, power whole regions with just that; live a stagnant life; because this is what green implies, it is a fraud from the start, but lets say nanotechnology, nuclear power - are they green, or is anything that is similar to that - green? Or maybe you're a destroyer of civilization? What are you? P.S. As long as you people keep talking about windmills, instead of murder of billions of people, you will be walking in circles and never truly understand the basis for green.

Alt Tabbing Crashes the PC.
Iroquois Pliskin replied to Leving's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
G.I.V.E S.Y.S.TE.M. S.P.E.C.S. & OS. I'm Alt-tabbing in Win 7 64 bit with 4 GB ram, it is instant. When the game crashes you sometimes lose control over the active windows, and curson migrates to background. In that case, alt-tab some more. :D Or use ALT+F4 to close active windows, also, when the game CTD, the crash dialog becomes active window, even if you do not see it, so press Enter to select the option to close the app in the dialog. You can also play in windowed mode, setting resolution @ your monitor's native, or 10-15% less. -

I have a 4890 @ stock with 9.8, Win 7 64 bit, 4 GB 1333 mhz DDRIII, Phenom X2 550 at stock. Ideal view distance in terms of effectiveness/peformance is 6000m, if you can't use it set it to 2700-3500m. Avg FPS difference: off against setting stated. Texture/Video memory setting: Medium if 512mb of vidram, High if 1gb, Very high if 1gb+. Objects: You want it at very high, if you can't run it at this setting, set to low or normal; 2-3 fps difference. Terrain: You want it at very high, if you can't run it at this setting set to normal. Shadows: you want it at very high, if you can't run it at this setting, set to normal; up to 5 fps difference, depending on graphics card. Aniso: you want it at very high (16x), or at least high. No FPS diff on medium-high-end graphics cards. AA: :D ...You may try it at low, or 2x without adaptive AA, if you're using an ATI graphics card. Resolution: Match your 3D resolution to your Interface resolution, i.e. Interface: 1920x1080, 3D: 1920x1080 (100%). HDR: You want it at low; it gives good HDR on glass, metal and clouds, also some mild blur over distance objects and while moving quickly. High is user specific: if you like heavy blur at 150-200m - use it; in fact, on a desert island it is ideal as it gives impression of high heat environment, not so good in Chernarus; FPS difference ~ 3 fps. Grass - you want to enable it permenantly, or manually in some maps like Evo, Domination - set it to full if you intend on having it. Nvidia specific: pre-rendered frames set it to 3-4 (default), I'm not familiar with Nvidia's new AA, and Alpha texture AA methods post GF 6800, but you do not want to use Supersampling. Use Multisampling or Transparent AA if the need arises. ATi specific: if you're using Radeon 4xxx, you want to enable ATi Overdrive, set the fan to at least 35% if your card is overheating/you're getting pixel corruption/texture corruption. Make sure to match your stock clocks, but it should be so by default. Catalyst A.I. Disable it on X2 or Crossfire setups if you're having trouble with FPS, gfx corruption. On single cards leave it on at Standard, if you're using Aniso at 16x (Very high in game), or AA for that matter, set it to Advanced, if you have additional CPU power. Do no enable Aniso via your CCC, use in-game setting for Arma II, AA on the other hand provide better FPS via CCC setting, than in-game one. Now, Vsync - you may disable it if you're having mouse lag, low fps when looking thru optics @ heavy vegetation/trees. I believe Nvidia Control Panel allows force Vsync off in Win/Vista OS, but for ATi - to turn off Vsync you need ATi Tray Tools version 1.6b: make Arma 2 profile, in Direct3D options Set Force Vsync (vista workaround) to Off, make a new shortcut to desktop. Vsync is on by default, you may use Rivatuner 2.24 to enable Triple Buffering for Arma II. When you install Rivatuner, it installs D3DOverdrive, which allows you to enable Triple Buffering in DirectX API games. Use that app. Turn off Hyper Threading for i7 cores. Last one, if you want really high textures, but you're experiencing textures cache/loading, you want to use -maxmem=2047 in Arma II shortcut command line. I'm running the game with -nosplash -cpuCount=2 -maxmem=2047 -world=empty command line. Noslpash - no intro, cpucount is number of actual cores, i7 = 4 cores, world=empty - does not load the island/objects in main menu, so the game starts up rather quickly, in 1 second after the green loading screen. :D P.S. With the PC configuration stated above, I was able to install the game, update to 1.02, then to 1.03, set everything to Very high, except texture/vid mem @ high, HDR @ low, native LCD res to 1980x1080 with no issues at all, vid distance @ 3500m; except for an occasional CTD after quite a few hours of gameplay without restarting the app, but that could be Win 7 fault. I had Catalyst 9.7 at that time. Tell us what you want to get out of the game, what is crucial for you, i.e. shadows, view distance, or perhaps you have a rather ancient system and can live with disabled shadows, no grass, and objects @ low textures/detail in the distance. -
Static and extreme LOW framerate, no solution found in formus
Iroquois Pliskin replied to pZonaKo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Either get a new CPU, or overclock it, or increase the resolution, increase AA, max out Aniso, set draw distance to 5km, 10km, max out everything else except HDR (personal setting). -
Quoting myself, this piece will be easier for you to comprehend: they knew exactly what the plebes wanted: you wanted more food, more clothes, then you wanted personal transportation, at the climax you are working 8 hours a week thanks to the above mentioned people, you are now at a sandy beach, away from all the civilization's downs, global cooling is being pushed forward in the box and over the radio - the seventies. Then you wanted healthcare, you wanted insurance, insurance against nature, you got it, you've received your 401k, that turned into 200.5k due to your own ignorance, greed; housing bubble - is your child, the average people's making. You and your lot are the culmination of arrogance, ignorance, hypocricy in today's Roman Empire. Just a few years ago you have done everything that you despise, and it seems, the sharade continues. Even if you personally have not done so, doesn't matter, you all sink together.

We do not care about their people; all we need is their resources and the energy that can be developed from them. They do not care about what you think, or your scientists think; more than 2k environmental scientists world-wide singed an official petition that man-made Global warming is a fraud, since they know how grants in the scientific community work; and this is why NASA will get pennies for their Constellation Project. Either way, global warming to me and to men in power is nothing more than another legend, with objectives to induce a certain behavior when the need arises. You may dream & wish that this is the new Golden Era of (Western) civilization. You may dream about green energy, but you may never achieve it due to the reasons stated above. Nuclear energy - you don't mention it a lot, at all. Facts of the matter are - Asia went for a revolution in weapons as their primary concern, just like the Europeans did; second step for the East was of course a revolution in transport & communications to effectively wage wars with the weapons they've developed. Europeans pushed the Agricultural and then the Industrial revolutions, since men like John D. Rockefeller and Mr. Morgan were men of pragmatism, not bullshit theories; they knew exactly what the plebes wanted: you wanted more food, more clothes, then you wanted personal transportation, at the climax you are working 8 hours a week thanks to the above mentioned people, you are now at a sandy beach, away from all the civilization's downs, global cooling is being pushed forward in the box and over the radio - the seventies. Then you wanted healthcare, you wanted insurance, insurance against nature, you got it, you've received your 401k, that turned into 200.5k due to your own ignorance, greed; housing bubble - is your child, the average people's making. Now, where were we? Ah, yes, indeed - the 3rd step of development of other civilizations; 3rd step for them - revolution in sanitation & medicine - treat the wounded in wars that are raging non-stop. POPULATION EXPODES. Last, but not least the agriculture to generate new soldiers & to keep the peasants/cattle at bay. Industrial revoution was the 4th step. What does this tell you, you tell yourself if you can still think for yourself - a feature of a conscious human being. This is a new religion, and what your priests are not telling you is that salvation is in consuming more, whole seas, ecosystems, moons, asteroids, planets, star systems... But plebes are not ready for that quite yet; yet human beings are pushing ever further for the final solution, if only the peasants were civilized enough. Post Scriptum: If you are discussing the Western civilization, then I have no objections; you may bathe in your own ignorance. But when you take a leap over the border, trust this truth: if you restrict other nations in any way, they will come to murder the average Joe & Mary in their sleep. This problem that you've imagined, can be dealt with a short thermonuclear war, between 3rd world nuclear-capable states, sponsored by yours truly. But this would be the first world war that actually makes an objective of wiping out billions of people; first two were there for you to reconsider your behavior that embarked you on a journey of commodities, nationalism and much more, and to embrace something called the United Nations, formerly the Club of Rome. And I endorse this organization.
