  1. Brilliant mod, the AK sound is hollow and medium-low freq. inside houses and cuts off sharply like it should; hangar sounds are spot on as well - echo is stunning. Any chance this could be incorporated in ACE2? If the other party agrees, ofc. :p
  2. The second one if you only have those 2 availiable for you. The 310 is not even a GT version, you won't be able to run most games on medium with that card. See my signature for my notebook specs, I play Arma 2 on High... while Fraps'ing :D And check my YouTube channel to see what you can expect from a similar rig. Although, a 4650 or a GT 330/335 with i5-430 CPU would be better than the laptop #2. P.S. Here is a great resource on Notebooks: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4650.13883.0.html Mobility Radeon 4650 Specs & review (multiple laptops benched, then AVG score(s) posted).

    War with Iran.

There is no right to development of Nuclear weapons. Big Mac has it right - there is a program to dismantle warheads and use them as the fuel in Fast Breeder Reactors. The ignorant masses just don't know all of this - keep drinking the nationalistic koolaids and let engineers do their jobs. With GOM covered in oil and a shit-ton of methane gas rendering any life in the ocean floor extinct due to depleting oxygen levels, we might see Civilian Nuclear energy generation get a second kick start, which in turn, as fishy as it may sound, decrease the risk of a nuclear war because we can use depleted uranium, we can use almost any type of fuel in these reactors. India is building Thorium reactors and is quite successful at it. Coal has Thorium - but you didn't know that, did you. live stream of Gulf oil leak

Oh, those poor pensioners. Buy them a flight to Louisiana, and soon to be - Florida. And let them present their case of granny losing her life-time savings because those selfish Americans want to torpedo BP and everyone that is affiliated. Right. On one hand I posted that informative rant, on the other - I'm happy this thing happened in GOM. People might start asking the right questions.

    Update FaceTrackNoIR

The Lean (x axis in FaceTrackNoIR) constantly inputs the info into the game, so you're always leaning unless you set sensitivity to 0. I'm not sure if it can be done: but for lean to effectively work you need to set a deadzone for X axis, so if you pass 50 on x you lean right, -50 and you lean left. There needs to be a deadzone and it should work as a key - on/off.

Looking for a pic of the map in Operation Arrowhead

Those 4-digit elevation numbers give me wood. :D Mt. Perez was ~700m in Northern Sahrani!
  8. Squeeze enough for a 5850, you can always o/c the CPU, but you can't compensate for the lack of Rendering Units in a GPU, though.

    Update FaceTrackNoIR

Lo there, I have a built-in 1.3mpix webcam in my laptop. (specs below) I've been testing the latest version of FaceTrackNoIR. I have a few questions regarding the settings: 1) Which tracker source is better: FaceAPI or the FTNOIR. 2) Does Auto-brightness improve tracking in low-light conditions? I've used somewhat random settings for sensitivity, disabled Z (ZOOM), X (LEAN) axis and so forth. I'll post a video with a Su25 with FaceTrackNoIR and I have to say that it has huge potential. :D The video/demo below: Arma 2 FaceTrackNoIR [Acer 5745G] Su-25 test-run in Armoury [demo/test] HD <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpwzLU29PNY&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpwzLU29PNY&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> FaceTrackNoIR identifies the Webcam as 8 FPS/Hz. Read the video description, watch in HD & Enjoy.

Fine exampel on how make the F-35 JSF more usable

You see, people want to see it in multiplayer, plug & play. I jokingly suggest sometimes that the Developers ought to implement ACE 2 into the next Arma 2 patch, people go - It's about multiplayer. :D
  11. Leon86 - blocked. ---------- Post added at 01:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:30 AM ---------- If you can, get a 5850. The 5830 is decent, equal to nvidia's GTX 465, which is a flop, sadly. I take it you already decided which mobo to get, so it'll be an AMD system; you haven't specified the model of the Phenom x4, that looks like a 945, you could get a Phenom II X4 965 BE for additional $20. War with Iran.

Someone seems to be living in cozy Europe where the knot of bigotry and nationalism was shredded back in 1945. And someone is forgetting the Blockbuster bombs, for instance, that were dropped on Civilian targets and/or pretty much everything else. You don't like the word Nuke? We can replace it with EMP, Dirty Bomb. There is a huge knot right now in the Middle East and it's been there since time immemorial, just like Medieval Europe, but the problem escalated in Europe with the Industrialization which gave us WW I & II, and every single skirmish or war in the XVIII-XIX centuries. And now the knot-problem in the ME increased with Globalization, which threatens stability in the world: not of single regions or countries, but Hemispheres. Iran is the last card in the deck, if you think there won't be a war, you're delusional -- these wars in ME transcend Administrations of the US government. Baff1, ignore Russians they don't amount for s-t. They have no strategy, only short-term gains for a select few which profess their Bluff through loudspeakers all across the Globe, while the population is living in piss-poor conditions unimaginable to the average Westerner. P.S. It's been only 64 years since establishment of the country of Israel. We can remove the remaining pockets of instability in the next 10 years, don't you think?
  13. I didn't see the i5 750 enter the equation. Just tell him to get the Phenom x6; demagoguery is something some people excel at.

    War with Iran.

No ground forces on Iranian soil. You have carrier battle groups in the Red Sea, CBGs in the Persian Gulf, you have Azerbaijan conducting military excercises at this very moment, or it could be troop deployment disguised as war games. You have Afganistan to the East, Iraq to the West, Saudi Arabia across the Gulf to the South. You have Israeli Jets going on a picnic in North-Western Saudi Arabia provinces, and they will fly due East along the Iraqi-SA border when the time comes. Syria will stay put, if it won't it will become Iraq 1991, Take Two. The US still has forces in Iraq and why the hell do you think they haven't pulled out yet? Iran is the end-game, last frontier for whatever cause you think those wars were and are fought for. But it won't be like Iraq, or Afganistan; all military and strategic infrastructure will be bombed, officials will get their own Tomahawks, civilian infrastructure won't be touched, unless Iranian regime starts burning bridges once shit hits the fan. P.S. With no foreign troop on the territory of Iran, there won't be an insurgency against said troops. What you will get is a Civil war in Iran, you've seen a glimpse of it last year. Persians are not muslims, Persians are a proud people and they can be reasoned with; you think todays youth there practices Islam? Think Zoroastrianism with belief in Western ideas. They say the revolution won't be televised (quote originated in the US?), well, you'll be seeing it on YouTube once the regime's infrastructure falls.

    War with Iran.

You can live in your la-la-la land till a nuke goes off somewhere in the suburbs of Paris, or better yet a cargo/tanker with said device in a port with oil refining facilities. We'll be laughing about Michael Jacksons being alive-jokes, no doubt.

live stream of Gulf oil leak

Hold BP stock to 0. At this point I'm not sure if they are stalling the real working solutions to this very problem just to get oil over $200 in the near future, which equates to over $8 a gallon in the US. I don't believe in coincidences with human beings involved, more so - sociopaths that have Billions to gain if they cut every single corner and slam every regulation down the MMS throats: 1. Blow-out Preventer lost it's annular (a seal around the locks) 2 weeks prior to the semi-submersible Deepwater Horizon went up in flames due to a methane leak that went all the way to surface - carry on. 2. One of TWO of the power units on the BOP that are responsible for shutting down the valves in a leak scenario was out of order weeks before April 20, 2010 - carry on. 3. Pumping not enough dense mud (organic or synthetic oil-based mixtures that precedes cement in an task of literally cementing the pipe/well, mud is denser than oil and thus if you use a proper type it will go down all the way to the bottom and set, after that the cement job comes in) to overcome all the pressure shooting it out back through the BOP - carry on. 4. Bullshit estimates on BBL/D (barrels/day), which initially were stated by BP as being 5,000 barrels of crude oil, excluding gas, per day - carry on. 5. Upon signing contract with the MMS for Deepwater well development, BP stated in print, if there would be a leak to occur the worst estimates are 162,000 barrels per day. 162k per day - carry on. The above are but a few crucial points that have taken place in the past 3 months. I wish Floridians and the other southerns a happy, sunny Summer, for it will be leaking for at least till August and then it will be extended through the Winter, and.. you get the idea. I'm saying the last sentence with cynicism, of course, because I'm appalled to the point of losing faith in some pockets of humanity and their ability to voice and act upon these concerns. Take care

    War with Iran.

The Republic is no more! Deja vu, as sad as it may seem. Rome went through it, and there we go again. P.S. Israel's Intel/Spy Sat on LEO will be online on June 25th. From then on it's like shooting turkeys with a M134. I'd say it's 2-3 months out, definitely not a ground force invasion (bar the special forces already present on Iran soil), shoot some concrete blocks into bits and that's all. This is, of course, if the regime change by the Iranian people fails by date xx.xx.xxxx.

Will Operation Arrow Head work ?

bushwacker, Arma doesn't like Overclocked CPUs in some cases. Put your CPU and GPU clocks back to stock. Run a clean game with patch 1.05 installed. What Windows are you running? 32 or 64bit? Nvidia Drivers - download and install the latest 257.21 from nvidia.com. P.S. Don't try any Beta patches, just install a clean game with 1.05 official. It's user's fault the game doesn't run, in all my years of experience I have never had problems with practically anything, when similar problems did arise, I eventually tracked the cause of the problem(s) back to my own decisions, in example: Beta drivers, unstable O/C even if it seems stable, the 12V line on the PSU jumping like craaazy making all sort of fun stuff. :D

  22. The Six Core in the Skin of Phenom II x6 does not have a future. i7-860 with 4 cores and 8 logical cores with Hyper-threading on the other hand, does. Phenom II x6 will be slower than the top Phenom II x4 - you were told that countless times.

What resolution are you running? Force Vsync off for Arma in Nvidia control panel if you haven't done so already. Do the standard mission-bench provided in SP - Scenarios. The stock i7 920 2.6GHz could be holding the 260 back, you can O/C the CPU. If your average FPS doesn't increase by at least 5-7, O/C the GTX 260 Core if your load temp is within norms on stock clocks. Finding the bottleneck in the system is key. P.S.
