Wasted an Hour of My Life on This Game So Far
Iroquois Pliskin replied to MrsAcademy's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I'm sure you were. Troll confirmed. -
Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
Iroquois Pliskin replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
It's poor server-side performance, which limits your own FPS. Find other servers. -

You paid for the full game, you're currently getting early access. Caveat emptor. -
Then don't do business with said company? You're being offered a deal/product, you can walk away from that deal, but I understand the emotional need to express your dependency on said product, that has changed slightly, yet you still crave it. Freud would argue otherwise. It's okay.

CPU is fine, VSync will have a noticable effect - if your setup can't keep FPS CONSTANTLY at 60, it will jump to 30, then to 20, etc and stay there. -
Repost? Picture-In-Picture mirros, PhysX cars make such missions possible - this is brilliant! :D

Here's the Entry - http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=716 "Assigned", next phase is going to be "Confirmed", if it ever gets confirmed. :p Or I'm probably looking the other way, if it's Assigned, then it's confirmed - next Resolved... I wish.
-
Calm down, it's been assigned/acknowledged with 450 votes on the feedback tracker. We know it's (probably) game over for smaller communities/casual servers if performance stays the same on Altis.
-
I don't understand the issue, but to each their own.
-
That he did, but the very same BE Warfare versions ran, like I said, "ok-ish" on 3.5/4 GHz servers, as opposed to XR's stellar performance. Unless the multithreading capability gets greatly enhanced, I suspect we will either have to down-size to 20-24 player limit for every major CTI mission, or OC the CPUs sky-high.

ArmA III Crashes on start up, EVERY TIME!

Can't you put ZA into sleep/silent mode? Disable while you run the game. -
Suggestions for giving ArmA3 a working "Supressive Fire" function.
Iroquois Pliskin replied to Chris2525's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
This topic again? GOD NO. Chris wins this thread, at least in defining what the term actually means. Also, here's a bonus featuring REAL suppressive fire as described above, Can you peeps spot it? Chris, if your proposition is only limited to AI and not BF3-like schizoid effects on the player, then Good luck to you. -
Factory OC tend to be stable. What OS are you running?
-
Just stating the obvious. As always. Steam is here to stay (for A3A). Steam is the reason I was able to launch ArmA III Alpha// on the 5th of March, after a 2 minute purchase order & 60 minute download no less.

It is poor server FPS performance, which limits client FPS. Don't even second-guess it, it's not your fault, or the fault of your PC. Try other servers.

If any of your PC components are overclocked, try resetting the OC to standard settings, then launching again. -

EB... every one of those entities has a physics component attached to it now, which wasn't in ArmA II. :) I know the perf of ArmA II evo/domi/warfare - ran brilliantly with a million AI. We have to adapt for the time being. -
What drivers are you running? Try updating to 314 @ Nvidia.com & perhaps resetting the settings in the Global profile Nvidia Control Panel. Last resort would be to remove the OC on your GPU - a lot of games in early stages don't take too kindly to any kind of OC.

AI kills the performance completely (instructions how to test inside)
Iroquois Pliskin replied to aop's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Offloading physics onto a separate core would be a dream. No idea if that's at all possible. -
MP COOP GITS EVOLUTION - main thread
Iroquois Pliskin replied to eggbeast's topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
Always been like that, even moreso in ArmA III with PhysX being calculated on server CPU. There are 2-3 main threads with at least 10 pages each on these forums about CPU underutilisation/multicore/physics/ai performance woes. -
Everyone gets a trophy syndrome has come to ARMA

Well, then this thread loses its point. AFAIR, Vet always was 1st pv for me in ArmA II - must've been pr0 custom servers. :D -

I doubt the HD 2000 is supported, since it's almost 2 generations behind and it is an integrated Intel GFX solution. You need a dedicated card. ---------- Post added at 17:13 ---------- Previous post was at 17:10 ---------- Set the preset to Standard & turn off VSync! Then put Shadow on High, PIP - Low, PostProc Quality - Low, Objects - High, Textures - High. Keep the standard View Distance. BTW, shadow on high is because I think they're rendered on the CPU if put on Normal, just like in ArmA II. You need to balance the load, divert more to your powerful GPU. I think Vsync is your main problem, it limits your FPS if you can't keep it close to your monitor's refresh rate, which is probably 60. Turning off Vsync may open up High preset for you. -
I initially had the same problem... Camos kinda similar in style, but play for another 10 hours & you should naturally come to recognise the subtle gear differences & the more pronounced colour difference. :)
-
Yes... this is the only angle we can complain from, because PhysX & AI performance per core is good, but multithreaded/multicore utilisation is, sadly, where it had been in ArmA II. With the added load of physics simulation, multithreading will mean life or death for non-OC/casual servers.

If you're running any antivirus programs, try setting it to Silent mode for 1-2 hours prior to launching the game.
