Couldn't you limit it to the new island pbo without having to re-do every asset?
-
I know that there are several CTI versions, though didn't think there's a direct link between modern WF and any of those prior to ArmA 1. I'll have to research that, thanks. wCkr6eBY5SY Everon - there's also an ACE BE Warfare version for ArmA 2. AWESOME. :cc:
-
B.S. All it takes to replicate Press Release quality ArmA 2 screenshots is the right lightning conditions in-game.

Road Rage 2013 by Celery. :icon_twisted: ---------- Post added at 04:57 ---------- Previous post was at 04:55 ---------- I haven't been there to witness it, although I do remember the introduction of current Warfare, in a patch I think it was, in Armed Assault 1.

Tessellation could be introduced at a later date in a separate expansion for ArmA III, like they had done with SSAO and Operation Arrowhead.

Multiplayer Balancing - Will Arma3's MP be balanced?
Iroquois Pliskin replied to BLSmith2112's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The trend is good: Comanche obviously has limited arsenal due to its hull, and I doubt they will stick 128 rockets on the KA-MI-69 Hamok hybrid for the OPFOR, like they have done in ArmA 2's Mi-8. -
Custom Warfare in ArmA II is a continuation of Armed Assault 1, but it was BIS who had figured out the mechanics and introduced unique assets like buildings, factories, helipads and other stuff. I suppose the PVP scene can become huge on its own, if people build upon the new physics engine and competitive animations by Smookie.

This appears to be the case, with today being the middle of the business week, it is far easier to captivate the public's imagination and attention towards the weekend.
-
It is rather an elaborate "mission", requiring the full attention of whomever is responsible for it. :p

Deffo. Warfare has been sustaining PVP for a loong time since Armed Assault 1, Berzerk creator abandoned/left his project, CTF never took off and some obscure TvT scenarios have been created on private communities. Regarding OP, http://images.idgentertainment.de/images/idgwpgsgp/bdb/2337637/bigimage.jpg http://images.idgentertainment.de/images/idgwpgsgp/bdb/2337643/bigimage.jpg http://images.idgentertainment.de/images/idgwpgsgp/bdb/2337638/bigimage.jpg http://images.idgentertainment.de/images/idgwpgsgp/bdb/2337649/bigimage.jpg More here - http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=1674&pk=46950&fk=93058&i=1 Hope that answers the question whether or not it still is. :icon_mrgreen:

As has been mentioned before, I think it is a wreck model, since the hatch is already open - crew presumably died from an explosion in the crew compartment. Please. please, please be a new damage model for live tanks. One can hope. :cc:

I thought the first two were real life photographs: brilliant composition, high-res textures, superb models, outstanding colour range selection! OH, GOD, I'm overflowing with manjuices. :icon_mrgreen:

Nice posters, tho only 1 PC for CC? :) Perhaps we should unsticky (yes, you read it right) this thread to raise more visibility, otherwise I'm not sure that we'll be able to reach the epicness of the E3 megathread.

Mouse flying: how do you handle freelook?
Iroquois Pliskin replied to tolpogulisEXTRA's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Quite easy, if you use the WSAD along with the mouse to control the aircraft, but It does take skill mastering each aircraft's inertia, as you temporarily disengage controls to look around. In combat, I usually set the aircraft on a desired trajectory and do quick ALTlook-then-snapback overviews - lots of micromanaging. ---------- Post added at 10:43 ---------- Previous post was at 10:40 ---------- nabs fly with TIR, eh, Qaz? ;) -
Ouya! Time for game Developers like BIS to move to an open platform?

Sorry' date=' m8 - not an expert on half-assed solutions, which is a single USB port Android ARM dongle. Get a PS3. :) I'd like to see you run 1080p MKVs on this ultimate multimedia box, when you hook up all the periphery via Bluetooth and then clog up the CPU with WiFi streaming. Like I said, this dongle is a peasant's dream for a PC, not a multimedia solution. ---------- Post added at 09:38 ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 ---------- P.S. Intel's Haswell architecture CPUs are coming in 2013 - up-to 3x iGPU performance over Ivy Bridge's HD4000 - HTPC under $299. Winning. -
Render To Texture + Scopes = ???
Iroquois Pliskin replied to rasdenfasden's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I don't see how a single RTT scope would cause a performance issue, if done at full 60 Hz. RO2 does it, Z4gWB10Bhy8 Notice how the back of the scope isn't showing anything - I have not been able to find the answer to a scenario, where 100 snipers simultaneously look through the scope - would an outside observer, standing as the 101st unit, suffer an FPS loss? Or would the RTT scope be client-based, and not visible from the outside/3rd PV? As it stands right now, AFAIK, you can see through your teammates' optics, correct me if I'm wrong. -

You're still acquiring 3rd party hardware to make the "ultimate multimedia box" functional. It's supposed to be a peasant's dream in China - a PC for only $99 ($74)! But you're making him spend more, so sad. :( Sure, everyone wants the latest SoC and peripherals, and software support, and ad infinitum, for only $99.99. :-) What is the definition of "optically" in the context of this device - the casing isn't up-to scratch with the design of your 60" TV? :icon_mrgreen: -
This setup obviously sports enemy WiFi signal jammer protection, unlike the E3 one, AND the Germans will be picky on technical details. Me like. (âŒâ– _â– )

Limnos, or the village? Could be Stratis, but those are red-tilled rooftops = Med village/town. :)
-
It does have "Create turtle" and a Limnos village in the background - real time or a WP? :cc: Oh, oh, and the interface is transparent for ease of use in RT. /tinfoil
-
Swap any mechanical drive for a 240-256 GB capacity SSD - you don't want to run 10 km VD and maxed out only to find you can't stream textures fast enough when flying over those beautiful towns on Limnos.
-
TBH, I'm getting the feeling they're a bit stretched on resources, and I'm sure people would rather see complete systematic overhaul of physics, which is going on at the moment, along with other key features like animations, underwater terrain, combat & interaction. When people mention gimmicks as a "WANT", instead of vital core features, it makes me so sad. :( P.S. Are wingsuits going to have tessellated textures for good airflow?

New VR Headest actually looks viable for average gamers

AMD really doesn't give a rat's ass about stereo 3D. Compare: 1) http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-hd3d/Pages/hd3d.aspx 2) http://www.nvidia.com/content/PDF/GDC2011/Stereoscopy.pdf The former references defunct 3rd party driver with hoops and loops to go through in order to enjoy 3D with cardboard glasses. Nvidia's documentation is actually pretty decent and shows their enthusiasm by working with developers to un-fuck their own games. Hope AMD gets bought out by Samsung, so we can see some cutting edge competition once more. ---------- Post added at 14:46 ---------- Previous post was at 14:41 ---------- DIY Oculus Rift - Can't wait until December? :) http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=140&t=15247 $170 for controller board and screen on eBay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-6inch-TFT-LCD-1280-800-HV056WX1-100-plus-7in1-board-/290734588827?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43b121c39b#ht_6382wt_1163 Only problem would be sourcing the exact specs for lenses used on Oculus Rift. -

You read wrong, http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/df-hardware-how-powerful-is-tegra-3 Looking at XBOX performance at best. That's from 2002 - damn you, second law of thermodynamics! _Gq_ZU9p5Nk Environments are surprisingly decent, this has to be rendered at 720p. Although, I'm not sure who would be derp enough to do this on a regular basis, but this is proof of concept for smartphones.
