AI units are local on the machine that controls them. So AI units in a player squad are local on the client's computer, thus the addon is needed on both the client and server.

Even though it isn't optimal in the end you can do a proof-of-concept test with the deleteCollection command, I think. Not entirely sure, but I think it effectively deletes the visual lods, geometry lod, fire lod, and maybe even more. -

Unfortunately we cannot change config-variables on the fly for specific objects. I just hope that we'll get the option to do so eventually, since the game has to create an instance of a class anyway when an object is created with pointers to the class. Shouldn't be too hard to let one redefine variables, but oh well. Whether you attach create an irTarget or laserTarget object it is the only workable universal solution(s) at the moment. -

And yep, triggers are nice, since they are run on every machine. Downside is that if they are overused they'll lag the game, due to the multitude of constant condition-checks. Very powerful tools though if used wisely :) -

Lots of servers running all the time. My guess is that it's either your router, anti-virus software, Windows firewall or other firewall software, or your internet service provider that is the problem, be it by some port being blocked or what the issue can be. -

Since the game isn't designed around horrendously long missions I'd say it is up to the mission makers of said missions to make scripts for peeing, eating and drinking. It simply doesn't have anything to do with the scope of the original content. -
Yep, cfgAddons is used. But so, since the only addon prerequisite I have is XEH I can just leave both cfgAddons and activateAddons out completely? And good find, Cole. The hotfix when I added the ammosize module as well was supposed to remedy that faulty cfgAddons entry. Seems like I managed to upload the wrong version >.<

Sounds like a server allowing any and all addons, and somoene having a homemade one to lock vehicles they are close to.

Nice vid! But nope, the sound != shock wave. The speed of sound is constant at roughly 340m/s (depends on air pressure, moisture, etc), but the shockwave from an explosion is not. At some specific distance from an explosion, unique to that explosion, the sound and shockwave will intersect, after which the sound will be faster than the constantly weakening and decelerating wave. -

Well, quite simply I prefer flanking, concealment and lots of movement. I don't mind hiking around through a forest, or just draw fire. A dude on the flank that moves and shoots constantly can be a great benefit to the team even without killing anything. I guess my specialty is... to try to make the enemy never feel safe. Snipe people at 800m with a PKM machinegun and stuff like that. The slower the enemy moves, the more time and room your team has to maneuver.

Only issue I've seen was TacticalGamer's server insta-crashing when a 56 player special started. Not 100% it was SLX, but it went fine after people were told to shut it off. Not saying this as that something is wrong with SLX mod, but that people should be aware of the issues it can cause to join a server that doesn't have SLX mod running, when the client does. Just like XAM and ACE were (in)famous for in ArmA1.

Because of the way eventhandlers works in ArmA. The two addons both alter the aircrafts' eventhandlers, and as they do that they overwrite eachother. To get both to work at once with the default eventhandlers one has to have one and the same addon adding the eventhandlers for both simultanously. Since this isn't workable there's something called Extended EventHandlers in the CBA addon, that houses a workaround to get several addons to work together. That's one reason why it is VERY important that any and all addons are made XEH (Extended EventHandlers)-compatible, since otherwise this kind of poo with conflicting eventhandler-assignment will keep popping up. Since 1.0 of this addon comes with XEH-support, it's just important to get XEH-compatible config for the flares, and the CBA addon, to get the stuff to work together.

There's always the stuff in the multiplayer framework. With that you can make the server or other clients run things on other machines, on JIP clients, and so on. No idea how well it works since I'm yet to use it, but it's there. -

Nice with the doStop! And nopes, no effect on humans. I was having problems getting my units to start in a staggered column and managed to overlook this command, but this solved all that :) However ordering the soldiers to regroup still doesn't make them move. Looking into that atm. -

USA didn't win thanks to Shermans against German tanks. The Allies won the west front thanks to air superiority and Germany's lack of diesel. In fact only one of four (British?) Shermans were ever upgraded to the Firefly (i.e. getting a cannon actually capable of destroying something), making the Allies need unreasonable amounts of tanks to achieve anything against the German counterparts.
