    Or they think like me, that 'clan' is for more hardcore PvP groups, while for example 'squad' is a more laid-back term. 'Clan' sounds so... extremist to me.

    The chain means that the client and server are desyncronized. This is most common when a player connects since the server prioritizes sending data to the new player instead of the already connected ones. Desync is more common for people with a bad internet connection or for weak servers that have trouble keeping up with doing all it is supposed to. Best medicine against it in-game is simply to take it calm and wait it out. It usually sorts itself fairly fast.

    For the COOP campaign, go into singleplayer, select the campaign, then choose 'Host'. For other missions, just go into multiplayer and host in the logical way, contrary to the campaign's hard-to-find hosting ^^

I still think it is a fair point made that both PvP is dead and COOP is dead, simply from the POV that the vast majority of the online playercount on non-passworded servers are found on Berzerk, Warfare BE, Evolution or Domination servers/missions (not counting Chernarus Life since it's so extremely niched and non-standard gameplay). With only variants of four missions being the predominant factor in public gameplay I can understand if people think that things look dead, since many grow tired of them after a while. It's not easy to do anything against, but I think it's important to see why people say what they do, rather than just saying that they are wrong because the numbers don't match up. Personally I think that "Yes, public gameplay is dead. Both COOP and PvP." and that's why I stick to communities. I don't like the above mentioned missions, and that rules out playing with the vast majority of public server players. And that's part of the problem in itself. I don't even try looking for public servers anymore because I can't be arsed trying to find a server with good players, good missions, and that ain't one of the missions above. I'm quite confident that there are hundreds of players doing exactly that.

    I agree that the reload animation isn't optimal, but it's the best I can do to simulate the preparation process.
  10. This is probably because you play with rifle tracers disabled. Since the ammunition is the same for the SAW and M16/M4 they will both be affected by the rifle tracer setting. Hopefully ACE2 will work around this though with their magazine system.

    For that funcitonality I actually recommend zGuba's disposable addon. It has each rocket take 3 slots of space, and extra rockets = extra disposable launchers. To achieve only one launcher per person while using magazine space is definitely doable, but it is hard to get it right without making it a compromise that somewhat ruins ease of use, and still isn't 100% reliable in how it works. To get it to use 2 slots I'd personally prefer automatic magazine management, but if the magazine slots are already full the rocket will be loaded in excess of the 12 existing slots, which makes it just the same as a nosize-magazine. Not really sure how I'd like to do that one.

    ArmA II: Weapons Sections

    Well, the F-35 doesn't have the perfomance to be a true fighter, like the F-16 does have although it is also serving as a strike craft. The *intention* is to phase out the A-10 and replace it with the F-35. I wonder if that'll ever get done in practice though. It is the stuff that happens when politicians gets to decide how to play war instead of the military. There is no existing replacement in the world (aside from the Su-25) for the A-10, so as long as it has a role to fill it is retarded to get rid of it. Plus, a F-35 can't soak bullets like a sponge soaks water, and still fly home. The A-10 can. It's just like when they removed the F-14. That was a decision by politicians too to stop making spare parts for it and to scrap all the F-14 specific tools. The navy wasn't happy about it since they had no other aircraft with the same range, speed and payload at those ranges as the F-14. The A-6 Avenger had already been removed as strike craft due to being so slow, and no F-18 or F-15 variant could carry as much bombs as far.

    At the moment there are just some minor differences. with zGuba's you still need to carry ammo, but it only takes 3 slots. If you got more than one rocket with you, you'll automatically get a new launcher after firing, so it practically allows you to carry more than one launcher per person. Mine doesn't let you do that, but on the other hand makes the rocket use no inventory space at all. Other than that they are practically the same (altough my version has the RPG-18's name written in cyrillic for all languages! :D )

By the way, I'd recommend adding this to the common functions: taskUpdate.sqf _task = _this select 0; _status = _this select 1; _task setTaskState _status; nul = [objNull, ObjNull, _task, _status] execVM "CA\Modules\MP\data\scriptCommands\taskHint.sqf"; A short and simple one I saw at OFPEC that makes it a lot easier to manage tasks. Just call it with for example nul = [taskObj1,"SUCCEEDED"] execVM "f\common\TaskUpdate.sqf" and you just saved lots of space and readability in a trigger :)

    Doh! Thanks for that! Hotfix with ammo boxes and sorted displayName reference coming shortly.     The AI won't have to reload. They carry ammo as normal, and the script is designed to make sure their weapon is always loaded. Concious design decision to make sure I don't screw up the AI's willingness or ability to pull up their launchers when needed.

    Nice change Alex, and I agree. Looks like more real street lights. At least the kind of lights I'm used to see (unless it is those yellow, worthless mercury lights that I can't see why one use at all :P ) Suffice to say that this lightfix is permanently on my computer :)

    Actually that's the whole point of the name :P The country we play in is 'Black Russia' instead of 'White Russia' (Belarus). But indeed, if you check the stars as well it seem to be quite far north. I think St. Petersburg is a fair estimate.

    No. As long as you have a working launcher you'll have ammo for it. But the launcher becomes worthless after you shoot it, so essentially you only have one shot per launcher weapon.
